And the science gets done
And you make a neat gun
Right now, being anywhere near the Soul Society was a terrible idea. She had really gotten herself in a mess, and there wasn't a lot she could do to resolve the issue. Apparently her scientific purposes for kidnapping the fullbringer wasn't anything the Gotei 13 was interested in. Fighting a couple of captains in an attempt to get away with said kidnapping didn't work in her favor either. She had released Gray back into the human world, and she wasn't far behind him. Being a part of squad twelve and having certain people owe her favors had really turned out to benefit her greatly in the end. She got a quick, unreported trip to the human world. As far as anyone in the Soul Society was concerned she was just hiding out really well somewhere.
Ariella almost wished she had gone with Gray when she set him free. She was terribly bored now, walking around the streets of the city his apartment was in. She had tracked down that apartment again, but he hadn't been home. The visored had checked her tracking device, something she likely should have done earlier. He wasn't even in the city at the time. Was he trying to run away? Did he think she was lying when she had told him she implanted a tracking chip into him? When did she ever lie or joke around?
With no other alternative, Ariella took to sitting atop a street light over a busy intersection. The wire she sat upon would swing every now and then, but curiosity wasn't the only reason she was often compared to a cat. She actually had pretty good balance as well. It was more than enough balance to not fall down into the incoming traffic and get hit by one of those cars, or even worse a big truck. Just because she was invisible didn't mean that she wasn't going to feel the impact of a massive vehicle. Watching was just fine for her. She didn't even understand why they hadn't started getting cars into the Soul Society. Everyone was always running around when things happened. They weren't too stupid to copy human inventions. Things had to say so classical there. She could barely stand it sometimes.
Just sitting around and watching cars had even gotten boring despite her interest in them. It had gotten late, and everything had slowed down. Ariella wasn't really happy with that. She missed her lab. She missed mixing chemicals or electrocuting things. With a sigh she leaned backwards, starting to fall. She was hardly about to let herself fall to an early death though, well early for a shinigami. Her knees caught the wire, allowing her to hang upside down. Ariella hung there absentmindedly, not paying much attention to anything anymore. If this was going to be her life because of that fullbringer then she was going to have to find him and use some more favors she had back in the Seireitei to make his life hell. While she was plotting against Gray, she should have been paying attention to traffic. Behind her one of those large, tall trucks was coming. It was plenty large enough to do more than clip her due to how she was hanging there. It was rather unfortunate that she wasn't listening as closely as she could have.
