Sayuri stared up at the Hollow that had wildly pursued her across Karakura until she had finally stopped at The Park. She had no clue how she always wound up back at The Park when terrible shit was going down in her life, but such was the case. But she hadn’t been able to run anymore. Her chest heaved as her lungs desperately pulled in air. She felt like she’d been sprinting at top speed for hours trying to ditch this stupid thing that had somehow gotten it in its head that she was its next meal. And this time around, some black-clad warrior hadn’t shown up to save her from certain doom.
This shit was ridiculous. She couldn’t understand why these monsters kept cropping up, much less why they kept attacking her. Did she smell good or something? It was getting tiresome. She had better shit to do with her time than evade things that were hell-bent on eating her. She had a job to go to and brothers to take care of. She didn’t have time for this! She was so sick of everything blowing up in her fucking face like this. Why couldn’t things just go right for once?!
A small scream tore from her throat as her hands clenched into fists. She had no more patience left in her. She didn’t care if this thing was probably much stronger and faster than her. She just wanted to be left alone! With another scream, she ran at the beast that laughed mockingly at her. There was too much anger boiling away inside for her to think rationally. She just wanted to hit it and hit it hard. As she drew close to it, her right fist cocked back. At that point, the beast stopped laughing in surprise. Slowly coalescing around her fist was what looked like the faint outline of wrappings. And when the punch landed, it hit far harder than the Hollow was expecting.
The Hollow staggered back with a slight screech before swiping at Sayuri with its claws. She rolled to one side, quickly regaining her feet and slamming her left fist into its side. The faint wrappings had appeared on this fist, too. Again, the punch hit harder than an average human’s. “Why. Can’t. You. Bastards. Leave. Me. ALONE!” She punctuated each word with a jarring punch and ending with a savage kick at its legs as she screamed “WHY!” The Hollow didn’t appreciate her attitude and slammed its fist into the ground. The jarring impact shook Sayuri’s balance, sending her staggering backwards. The Hollow took advantage of the momentary opening and smacked her to the ground with the back of its hand. She went skidding several feet, kicking up dirt as she went. The Hollow was close behind, slamming its hand against her abdomen and pinning her to the ground. The air was crushed out of her lungs and she once again tried to desperately pull air in as she clawed at the monster’s hand. Her brief defiance wasn’t going to be enough to save her, but like hell she was going to give up just yet.

"You've gotta be shittin' me." So Jace got sent after another Hollow. What else was new? After sighting it from the building he was currently standing atop, he saw that there was, in fact, something new. It was chasing after that crazy bitch from before. But her Reiatsu was pathetic. Why would it want her? Maybe she had tried to throw a temper tantrum on it... I really didn't want to run into her again... he paced back and forth on the roof to let off some steam, knowing that he could shoot the Hollow from afar if things went sour. Of course, he was going to need to do that at some point... Don't let another one die. That negative voice came back, reminding him of his recent fuck up with the skanky Togabito. He was doing it again. Right, wasn't he supposed to act immediately in these situations? Well, luckily, he could just snipe the Hollow from up here and the girl wouldn't even see him. What was he worrying about? He turned back towards the scene, only to see that they were out of sight, and with that, out of reach. No no no no! How did Jace react to this? He jumped right off the building. It was only a few stories at least, and he got a few balconies on the way down. He was pretty sure he was doing parkour or some shit. That was cool. What wasn't cool was when he flopped onto his face after reaching the ground. He somehow hadn't expected there to be so much momentum. Across from him was a park. It was pretty much the only place they could have gone without him seeing, and he could sense the Hollow ahead. So he got himself to his feet and ran across the street, flipping off the people who honked at him on the way. They could show down for a few seconds. By now, he could hear a female voice screeching about something. Oh, who could that be? But when there was a crashing sound and the yelling stopped, he felt his blood run cold. Maybe he wasn't all that fond of the girl, but he didn't want her dead. He just didn't want to see her, ever. So he ran faster. Relief washed over him when he finally happened upon the scene. She was under the Hollow's arm, or foot, or whatever it was, but she wasn't dead. He wasted no time in jumping the Hollow, punching it in the side of its head with a hand that was coated in dark blue energy. He actually ended up hitting its mask since it had turned to look at him. It flew to the side, roaring and probably about to dissipate soon (I didn't know if you wanted me to one-shot it or not), and Jace let his Reiryoku disperse so that the girl didn't see his hand glowing. Against his better judgment, Jace walked over to the girl and offered his hand. He wanted to just leave, but he didn't know how injured she was. "Are you all right? he asked, vainly hoping that she wouldn't attack him. She probably couldn't do anything to him now; he wasn't a normal person anymore. But he really didn't need another scene. Even though he had basically just saved her life, he still didn't trust her not to turn on him like some animal.

Sayuri glared up into the grisly visage of the monster as her vision began swimming. She was still clawing at its hand, but much more weakly now. Oxygen deprivation had a way of making a person sluggish. Her hands stopped moving, though her nails were still slightly digging into the hand that held her down. Black dots were beginning to darken her vision and nothing was in focus anymore. She was going to die here. She was going to die, just like Colin had died. That was so painfully ironic. Her family would never come near this park again. She would have laughed if she could breathe. Maybe I’ll see Colin on the other side…
As that thought drifted through her slowly-dying mind, there was a loud sound above her head. Well…she assumed it was loud. Her ears were currently filled with cotton, so she couldn’t be certain. But the sound was quickly accompanied by something much more important – the sudden removal of the pressure on her stomach. Instinct immediately kicked in and she gasped for air. She continued gasping as she somehow managed to roll onto her side.
She ignored the world around her as her mind tried to clear away the cobwebs. One hand clawed weakly at the ground while the other went to rest gently against her stomach as beautiful, glorious oxygen filled her lungs with sweet, sweet life. Pain shot through her body as she breathed, but she couldn’t stop. Fractured ribs? Distantly, she could sense the dissipation of the Hollow that had attacked her. And there was something else here, too. The thing that had saved her was now approaching her. The gears started clicking faster as it got closer. Human. Strong energy. Familiar energy. Not like Fullbuster’s, with its Hollow-feel. Not the twins…
“Are you all right?”
She groaned. It was Doppleganger Asshole. She still had no clue what his name was, but neither did she care. Sure, she had nearly killed him and probably owed him an apology for that. But he’d also still been a total dick so she was less inclined to apologize for being a bitch. And seriously – why did people always ask if someone was alright after a traumatic experience? “Oh, I’m just peachy,” she whispered. “Not like I just got my ribs almost crushed or anything.” She weakly smacked his hand away and staggered to her feet on her own. She coughed, wincing as she did so. She could already feel the bruising and now that she was standing, she was almost positive her ribs had been fractured at the least. Keeping one hand near her abdomen, she eyed D.A. suspiciously. “Why are you even here?” Her voice was breathy and hoarse – trying to pull in enough air for an outside voice was painful. Jace didn't know exactly what he had expected. At the very least, he hadn't expected the girl to be a total bitch after he had saved her ass. He was even showing concern despite the fact that again, she was a total bitch. Jace went blank for a moment when she slapped his hand away. She was unbelievable. Somehow, she managed to make him look like a nice person in comparison. How was that even possible? And of course, she had to get sarcastic. Maybe it was usually a dumb question, but asking people if they were all right was just... customary. For Jace, at least. It was better than saying nothing, even though, in this case, it was exactly what he should have done. Talking to her always seemed to be a waste of breath. Even then, it wasn't like he had known what was going on, other than that the Hollow was attacking her. Surprisingly, he still found himself wondering if she was okay, as in not about to die or something, when she got to her feet. There was what she had said earlier about crushed ribs and the fact that she didn't look so good. But why should he care? If she wanted to go and act all tough, she could deal with it herself. He didn't think he could bring himself to bring her to the hospital... even if it was a few minutes away... being around her for that long... no. Not that she would even let him. The fact that she now knew that he wasn't her beloved Fullbuster didn't seem to have changed her attitude towards him much. When she asked him why he was there, he sighed heavily. She probably thought he was stalking her when it was just the opposite. He would have been perfectly fine never seeing her again, but it seemed like he just didn't have that kind of luck. It seemed like all the people he didn't like were omnipresent, or pretty close to. Just the fact that he had to actually talk to her now made him tired. He didn't even know what he'd do if she went crazy and attacked him again. "Trust me, I don't wanna be here anymore than you do." he tried to keep his tone neutral, but it was hard to keep the annoyance out of his voice. He still didn't understand how someone could be so hard to deal with. It sucked even more that he couldn't exactly say why he was really here. Yeah, I hunt ghosts and shit. Like that would go over. "Anyway, since you're just peachy, I guess I'll take my leave. You're welcome," he said, again having a hard time hiding his irritation as he turned to leave. He almost felt bad about it, but she probably wanted him to leave. If she wanted help, she wouldn't have slapped his hand away.
