((Read in voice of Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw for some form of hilarity. Namely, the unfunny kind.))
It was unclear why there were so many bodies around Rudianos, but at this point, it hardly mattered. All that did matter was the fact that the mutilated corpses of dozens of Shinigami lay around Rudianos as he stood there smirking, his arms folded behind his back in a position so many seemed to see him in. The bodies were scattered around him like some sort of macabre and frankly quite disturbing confetti, while the blood on his hands and tunic were evocative of what happens when you let a toddler have an explodey packet of Ribena. Except instead of chemical-tasting grape juice, Rudianos was covered in that smelly red liquid most people called blood.
It was actually quite astonishing how the Soul Society had decided to send out a crack squad of Shinigami to take out the Novemo Espada, who was just standing around, out in the open, casually picking off souls, because the whole thing was quite obviously a trap. Despite the ‘ramblings’ of some lunatic who said to send a captain to deal with him, the men and women in charge laughed at him and decided to just let some seated officers bombard him. This actually worked out just as well as you’d expect it to – id bloody well didn’t. Rudianos was now standing in the middle of a fresh pile of corpses, though their remains smelt anything but fresh.
It was worth hazarding a guess that he was looking for a fight.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] When Hotaka heard screams nearby, he stopped dead in his tracks. A sense of foreboding invaded his mind as he looked back in the direction he had heard the screams. He had been sensing Reiatsu for a while now, but didn’t pay it any mind. It was doubtful that he would be able to pinpoint it, anyway. On top of that, he wasn’t keen on getting involved in any fights, especially not with supernatural opponents. He would definitely need the power of his tattoos to come out alive, and he had vowed never to use it again. Not after what had happened a few months ago.
Hotaka knew that he should have just kept walking. He couldn’t afford to get involved in any spiritual messes. But what if the Reiatsu was from something else? Those screams could have come from anyone. If it was someone he knew… he couldn’t turn a blind eye. He was stronger than ordinary humans. If someone was getting mugged, he could help them easily. But those screams… sounded much worse than that. Like someone was… Nonetheless, Hotaka turned and started jogging in the opposite direction. I need to stop being such a coward!
Filled with a strange sense of urgency, he pulled at the ground beneath his feet. Altering its elasticity, he jumped. There was a flash of sickly green light and Hotaka was flying through the air, over a low-lying building and into an alley. He managed to land on his feet but stumbled forward a bit. Putting his hand on the brick wall to balance himself, he sighed in relief. He barely ever used Bringer Light, so he wasn’t very good at controlling it. He was just glad he hadn’t flown right into the wall.
The feeling of the Reiatsu was heavier now. But Hotaka couldn’t turn back now. he had to at least check out what was going on. Slowly, he peeked around the corner. The first thing he noticed was the smell. It smelled like something was rotten. But he knew that smell, even though he had tried to forget it; death.
There were black-robed bodies strewn everywhere, and in the middle of it all, a huge person - if it could even be called that - was just standing there. And of course, there was blood everywhere. Suppressing the urge to vomit, Hotaka stepped back into the alley with wide eyes. I knew it. I really shouldn’t have come here… He slid down the wall into a sitting position, hoping that he hadn’t been heard. At least the other person’s back had been turned towards him. There was no way it could have seen him. But how could he get away without it hearing him? If he used Bringer Light again, it would probably even see him. But he couldn’t just sit here like this. The scene was far too reminiscent of what had happened when Hotaka had last used his tattoos. He had gone out of control and killed a lot of innocent people. But he didn’t want to look at that again; he was different now. But he had no idea what to do. HAN: 8 | REI: 7 | HAK: 8 | SEI: 6 | BUK: 3 | HOH: 8 |

One of the Shinigami – whether miraculously or not – was still conscious, though only barely. Rudianos soon noticed this, and picked the girl-looking-woman up by her throat, a malicious grin growing on him with every passing second. He tightened his grip, causing her breathing difficulties, but not to the point where she could not actually breathe. He spoke to her as she struggled, her injuries too great to let her do nything but squirm slightly against his grasp. “Foolish Soul Reaper,” he sneered, his voice carrying with it the essence of fear itself, “You should have died where you stood. Instead, you will face my wrath, and yours will be a painful death indeed.”
Rudianos, using his free hand, took hold of one of the Soul Reaper’s fingers, and began pulling at it. He tugged in such a way that, while her arm remained in place, her finger was wrenched violently form her hand, blood spurting out once he did so. This continued for several more digits, until he decided enough was enough – at which point, he took said fingers, and forced them down the poor soul’s throat, leaving her to choked on her own bloodied fingers, sacrificing what little breath she had left. Rudianos did not even allow her the mercy of clutching at her throat – his foot was crushing her hand.
Rudianos’ grin was smug, yet nowhere near content. For all the blood he had spilled, for all the cruel and pointless deaths he had caused, he still needed more. Either that, or subjugation. He would have preferred to enslave the Shinigami, but he did not have the time – there was someone else that required his attention. He sensed a weak power – nothing that he couldn’t just bat aside with flick of the wrist, or just obliterate with his Omega Beams. However, he felt that he could force whoever it was out there to their knees, whether by breaking their will or their body.
“I hope you’re watching this, human.” The flat tone with which this line was delivered only served to further how intimidating the Espda was. A ‘man’ of gargantuan size and build, who was coated in blood, and had just slain an entire crack squad of Soul Reapers? One of which had died a death that was needlessly bloody and cruel? It was not hard to see why many a person feared Rudianos. He may not have been the most powerful of fighters, but there were few beings in Hueco Mundo that could match his sheer depravity. He practically radiated evil – be it in how he spoke, or in his actions.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] Hotaka flinched when he heard someone speaking. He could only assume it was the large man he was hiding from, since everyone else looked pretty dead. Admittedly, he relaxed a little when he heard what it was saying. It wasn’t talking to him. So it hadn’t detected him yet.
The relieved feeling all but vanished when he realized just what the man was saying. There was someone still alive. But not for long. Against his better judgment, Hotaka peeked back around the corner just in time to see the man holding a girl up by her neck and shoving something down her throat. this was happening right in front of him, not even ten metres away, and he still couldn’t bring himself to do anything. Well, what could he do against a guy like that? If if he had decided to use his power, not just the large man, but any other possible survivors; they would all die. He would end up killing everyone, he just knew it.
And then when all was said and done, the man spoke again. This time, Hotaka knew the words were meant for him. No one else was around. He slowly got to his feet, looking down at the ground. Fucking pathetic… He could have helped that girl if he would have only done something, anything. Instead, he had hid behind the wall and watched like the coward he was. Hotaka was never going to let himself live this down.
He had two choices now. Face the man who had just murdered a bunch of people, or take off. Option one would likely get him killed. But what if he was able to pull it off? Hotaka hated to admit it, but he would feel great afterwards. The sick fuck deserved it, and it would ease some of his guilt. But it was of a supernatural persuasion. Maybe the Fullbringer was stronger than most normal humans, but that didn’t mean a thing against ghosts. There’s no point… everyone is already dead, he thought, trying to convince himself. Given that, was there really any point in fighting now? But could he even outrun this guy? He was pretty big, so maybe he could. And with that, his decision was made. Hotaka started walking quickly back down the alley the way he had come. If the other man came after him, he was prepared to use Bringer Light again. Rudianos stood, arms behind his back, looking in the general direction of the Fullbringer. His ability to sense spiritual pressure was not the most acute there was, but it was by no means pathetic. He could still sense Hotaka, and was more than ready to obliterate him. He did not sense that the human was all that powerful, though, so subjugation of the poor soul would be child’s play – to Rudianos’ mind, at least. In his mind, however, anyone less powerful than he was should be forced to kneel before him, so the reliability of asking him how hard it would be wasn’t exactly high.
“Insolent child…” Rudianos did not particularly care for people who ran from him – he did not berate more powerful beings for running from him, given that fighting them would be a fool’s game. However, he sensed that Hotaka was significantly weaker than he, and that it would be easy to crush the boy under his heel. And, even with his huge size, Rudianos sensed that catching up with him would not be too difficult a task. After all, he was an Espada – a mere human of his strength, even if he did turn out to be much faster, would likely not even be able to do more than scratch him.
And then there was the fact that he thought Hotaka escaping now would be as much a punishment as stepping all over him. Hotaka had just stood by and watched while Rudianos had slaughtered many a Soul Reaper, and had choked another one to death on her own extremities, while her hand was under his boot. Most would have called him out on it, or would have just left. But Hotaka? He had stood around to look. And, while he did not know much of humans, thought that the boy would likely feel ashamed that he did not even attempt to do anything.
Slowly and deliberately, Rudianos paced over to Hotaka, quickening his pace when he sensed that the Fullbringer was actually bothering to run away from him. It mattered not –Rudianos was faster, he was stronger, and had access to ranged attacks. Plus, there was his Sonido. While he was certainly no speedster, he had at least taken the opportunity to learn the art, and had found it useful throughout his many battles. Rudianos thundered along, each step signalling impending doom, the beat growing quicker and louder with each step. Eventually, Rudianos appeared in front of Hotaka, having used Sonido to get there. “Going somewhere, child?”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] Hotaka tried to keep silent while walking as quickly as he could. He was incredibly tempted to run, but he knew that he would be heard if he did that. I just have to keep cool, and I'll get out of this. Maybe it won't even follow me, the Fullbringer thought, fighting to keep his hands from shaking. Even now, he wished that he could just rely on his power. If only he could control it, he wouldn't have to run like this... he could have done something for that girl. But it was too late for that now; there wasn't even any sense in pondering it.
Any semblance of positive thought vanished when he heard booming footsteps behind him, getting louder with each passing second. It was following him. Why?! Though he really should have, Hotaka hadn't even done anything to the larger man. Why was it following him? Did it want to kill him, too? He sure wasn't catching any breaks today.
Knowing that the enemy would be getting closer, Hotaka quickened his pace and started to pull at the earth beneath his feet. He was going to have to jump pretty high and get a good distance away, fast. Just as green light made itself known about the Fullbringer's feet, something big and bulky appeared in front of him. He almost ran into it. With a sinking feeling, Hotaka took a couple steps back. He didn't have to look up to know what was blocking him. But he did anyway. The first thing he noticed were the glowing red eyes and grey skin. Not to mention, the guy was even bigger up close. He was massive. How was he going to fight someone like that?
Hotaka only stood there, frozen, as the enemy loomed over him, asking if he was going somewhere. He didn't even try to use Bringer Light. This guy had just appeared right in front of him. If he was that fast, Bringer Light would be of no use to Hotaka.
After a while, the Fullbringer snapped out of it. He couldn't just stand there like that. If he couldn't get away, maybe he could talk his way out of this?
"I am. What's it to you?" And there went that chance. Instead of something that could have possibly saved him, something belligerent came out of his mouth. That was sure to piss the other guy off. As soon as he realized this, Hotaka paled even more. Where had that even come from? Fuck. He started to inch backward after that. He didn't want to die, after all. Rudianos, having heard worse in his time, simply raised an eyebrow at Hotaka’s retort. His arms remained behind his back, and his expression was largely… unexpressive. He was practically relying on his sheer presence and size to intimidate the Fullbringer, his power enough to make the weak tremble, and his sheer lack of morals enough to make higher-ups concerned. Rudianos looked down at Hotaka, adopting the coldest fury he could, one that would likely freeze volcanoes shut if used on them. His true talents, after all, lay in his ability to instil fear and sheer drive. Raw power and a highly intimidating appearance didn’t hurt matters much, though.
“It means little to me where you go or what business it is of mine. However, humans and Soul Reapers must be put into their place by superior beings, and I cannot allow you to escape without my lesson firmly embedded into your mind.” Rudianos was talking a load of bull, and even he knew it. He just enjoyed gaining dominion over everyone else. He thought himself to be the pinnacle of creation – to defy him was to defy a god. Nay, the only god – the only one that mattered. He continued to stare down at Hotaka, awaiting a response.
When Hotaka began to back away, Rudianos kept pace with him, stepping slowly forward as Hotaka retreated. He made no move agains the boy – he wanted him to realise just how futile his attempts to resist would be. If he ran, Rudianos would chase after him. If he fought, Rudianos would block his blows, or take them without so much as flinching. Rudianos wanted the boy to kneel before his might, and to acknowledge the superior being. Rudianos did not speak. He did not attack, and he did not change his expression. He simply kept pace, waiting for the younger of the two to make a move.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] Hotaka had been expecting some sort of action from the Arrancar after what his response. But it only stared at him eerily. For a second, he felt a small twinge of hope. Maybe it was just going to leave him alone after all. If it wanted a fight, Hotaka wasn't exactly a challenge, and that much should have been obvious already. Maybe, knowing this, the Arrancar would back off and go looking for someone else. That wasn't exactly a good thing, either... it meant that someone else was going to die or at least get hurt really bad. But as long as it wasn't him...
The Fullbringer banished his shameful thoughts. That was just disgusting, hoping for someone else to take his place. But what else would get him out of this mess? There was only one thing. But it wasn't worth it. Killing other people to keep oneself alive wasn't right... was it? In any case, maybe this thing wasn't out to kill him. He wasn't going to unleash that monster unless there was absolutely no other choice.
When the Arrancar spoke of putting people in their place, Hotaka adopted a confused expression. "Put me in my place? What the hell did I ever do to you?" he asked, surprising himself when he found that he was able to keep his voice from shaking. He was actually a little angry. Some stupid reason like that... that was why he killed those Shinigami? It barely even made any sense; in fact, it didn't make sense at all.
Hotaka had only taken a couple steps backward when his back hit a wall. The Arrancar had followed him those couple steps, only giving him that same cold stare that he really didn't like. There was nowhere else to go. And it looked like talking wasn't going to help any, either. Damn it! What do I do?! He was at a total loss. Running away definitely wasn't an option. Talking was a waste of time. Hotaka was pretty strong physically, but this guy looked like he could take a punch. He would only end up hurting his hand. And yet, fighting seemed to be the only option. The Fullbringer actually found himself wanting to. Hotaka wanted to hurt this man badly. To make him pay for what he did, and maybe redeem himself just a little. This feeling was something he hadn't felt in months; he had done his best to vanquish it. But now that he had no other options...
Without warning, the Fullbringer, disappeared in another flash of green light. But this time, he wasn't running away. The Bringer Light only brought Hotaka a few feet forward, right in front of the Arrancar and high enough in the air that he was level with its head. As soon as he reappeared, he swung his right hand, curled into a tight fist, towards the other man's left cheek with as much strength as he could muster. Rudianos chuckled darkly at Hotaka's confusion, before calming himself abruptly, and answering. "Stupid child. I have no idea who you are - frankly, I do not know if you need to be crushed or not. You will serve as an example to the rest of the world, like the countless others I have slaughtered like lambs. They will see that I am their one true ruler, and that beings such as you are merely ants to be crushed under my heel." What was chilling about how he spoke, was how he spoke so calmly of massacring an innumerable number of people. There was not a hint of anything in his voice - he spoke so calmly, it was as if he was just referring to shopping for groceries.
"But, I digress. Depending on how soon you bow to me, your suffering and humiliation will not last long. Or it may be enough to scar you for life. What is it you humans say? Better safe than sorry?" With that, Rudianos looked away, though his head did not turn. For all intents and purposes, it looked as if he was lost in thought - like Hotaka wasn't even worth paying attention to. Of course, he was still keeping himself aware of the boy, but he was hoping this nonchalant dismissal of his presence would evoke some sort of reaction form him.
Rudianos did not react to Hotaka using Bringer Light. While he could have done so with ease, he refrained from such an action, on the grounds that it would not intimidate him as much as simply taking the blow. Rudianos allowed Hotaka's fist to hit his Hierro, but the pain he felt was comparable to that of being poked with a needle. A mere annoyance - to describe it as anything more would be exaggerating. Rudianos' head moved only slightly, but he soon turned back to face the boy with an unamused look embedded on his face. "Your power is unimpressive, child. May I suggest something like this?" Rudianos raised his hand, and casually moved it to one side, in the way a person might shoo away an annoying insect. Needless to say, however, Hotaka would still feel it if it connected.

(So I revamped Hotaka, a lot. xD His powers are still the same, he just looks different and is a huge ass because I couldn't bear how much of a pussy he was before. Hope this doesn't mess the thread up too bad. xD And don't worry, you'll still win. Just don't give him a chance to use his Fullbring for another couple posts. He didn't finish the phrase in this post because I figured Rudi would stop him from doing so.) [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] He couldn't exactly say he wasn't expecting it, but Katsuo was still disappointed when his punch failed. In fact, the Arrancar barely even budged. Tough bastard, huh? It seemed as though Katsuo wouldn't be able to affect him in his current form. I suppose it doesn't matter. I'll just change and blow him away. Even now, he had no doubt in his mind that he could do it. He had killed Arrancars before. This one wouldn't be a problem once he transformed.
He dropped back down to the ground, landing on his feet, when the Arrancar spoke yet again. Katsuo felt his eyebrow twitch when he was basically called weak. This guy sure had a surprise coming...
He was about to utter the activation phrase when the Arrancar swatted him on the side of his head. Normally, something like that would have only left Katsuo a bit dazed, but he had been standing right beside a brick wall. Needless to say, he bashed his head right into the wall. Nearly blacking out, he slid down to the ground, shuddering as he felt something warm dribble down the left side of his face. That was exactly why he hated this weak form of his. Today really was not his day.
Ignoring the throbbing in his head, Katsuo forced his eyes open, trying to see where the Arrancar was. He was already pissed off about having to act like a pussy to draw this thing away from the other people - stupid duty, now he was supposed to listen to him ramble on about domination? Who the fuck cared? That might have been kinky if the Arrancar were a nice-looking girl, but that definitely wasn't the case here. Katsuo wasn't going to let anyone have power over him. He was done playing games.
Glaring at the Arrancar, he drew in a breath before attempting his Fullbring again. A sudden oppressive Reiatsu made itself known as the markings on Katsuo's arm began to glow white, showing through his shirt.

((Shouldn't impact this too much. He'll just amke Rudianos want to blow his face off even more.))
Rudianos did not speak as he watched Katsuo rise, believing him to be just as weak as he was showing now. He sensed that the boy probably had a few tricks up his sleeve, as he was likely one of the many special humans he felt were so annoying, but made nothing of it. he thought that there was nothing that could be done by Katsuo to harm him. SStill, to sustain even minor injuries would be annoying, to him. hence, he resolved to crush Katsuo before he had a chance to bring out his true power, if any was left. If he did manage to do so, however, Rudianos supposed that he would still not pose a legitimate threat to him.
As if to further demoralise Katsuo, Rudianos hit him in much the same manner - except this time, hsi backhand was significanty more powerful. Not so much that Katsuo's head would be pulverised, but he'd certainly feel Rudiano's brute strength, for whatever the semi-casual backhand was worth. And yet, even with this, it would still be easy to tell that Rudianos was not taking Katsuo seriously. After all, he was simply tossing him about like a rag doll. Why would he take this seriously? That aside, he was of the mindset that showing he was not even serious would further demoralise Katsuo, in that he could beat him with one hand, without even trying.
"Well, child?" He questioned, hands behind his back, looming over Katsuo. "Will you submit, now? Or must I further remind you of how mismatched our powers are? You are a lowly human. pathetic. Worthless. I am an Arrancar - I could crush you without hesitation." His grin - small as it was - was vicious, to say the least. Some would even say that the look in his eyes should not even be possible, such was the intensity of it. Nevertheless, he was there, and Katsuo would certainly have his work cut out for him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] Before Katsuo could get the full activation phrase out, something slammed into his face once again. His head snapped to the side and the rest of his body followed suit, sliding to the ground. For a few seconds, he blacked out and just laid there. But he soon forced his eyes open through sheer willpower. He was lying on his side and could taste blood in his mouth. And staring at the feet of the Arrancar that had just slapped him. Wait... staring at someone's feet? That wasn't something he did. He was the strongest! And now the bastard was babbling on about submitting again. There was no way in hell Katsuo would 'submit' to anyone, let alone a filthy Hollow.
"You can go fuck yourself. You're the one who's getting crushed today," he snarled, in a voice filled with oddly potent hatred given how fuzzy the world looked for him at the moment. It was almost scary how fast Katsuo could come to hate someone. But he didn't think it too odd. Everyone else was odd, not to mention, they all had it easy. He especially didn't like this guy. He thought he was hot shit when he wasn't. And that was exactly what Katsuo was going to show him.
Keeping his eyes trained on the Arrancar, Katsuo started to get to his feet, blinking blood out of his eyes. It looked like what little of his power had leaked out last time had scared the bastard. That was why he had hit him; to stop the transformation. So he needed to get a bit further away first lest he be interrupted again. The second Katsuo got one foot on the ground, he'd use Bringer Light to move roughly ten feet away and say his activation phrase immediately after. Rudianos did not react to Kaatsuo's little outburst. Instead, he simply stood there, waiting for the boy to do something, anything. he would show him more power if necessary - but, if he died in the process? Not something he wanted to happen, but he supposed he would deal with it if need be. After all, to Rudianos, Katsuo was just another lowly human. An insect to be crushed beneath him, something that wasn't worth the carbon it was printed on. He did, however, move towards the Fullbringer, intending to extinguish the look in his eyes, once it had been noticed.
Rudianos, taken by surprise, did not expect Katsuo to use Bringer Light - not in such a closed-off environment, anyway. Regardless, he blocked instinctively, as this sort of technique usually meant that the person using it was going to assault him from what they assumed would be a safe angle. It rarely ever was, and on the few occasions that someone did manage to lay a hit on him, it hardly ever showed. However, Katsuo had fled, though not far enough. He knew that if he wanted to run, he would run - but Katsuo was staying still. And then, when his Sonido had him appear near him, he saw him chanting - instinctively, he fired a volley of Bala, hoping to interrupt once again.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] "Yuiitsu..." Again, Katsuo was interrupted before he could get the phrase out. For fuck's sake! He saw balls of energy flying at him out of the corner of his eye, and before he could think to get out of the way, a few of them hit him directly, throwing him back into the wall. This time, he as pretty sure that he felt something crack as he fell back down to the ground, face-down. Wasn't that just great? Katsuo was really going to make this bastard pay.
Although he was still conscious, Katsuo didn't get up right away. He didn't even move. Since he really couldn't seem to get a word in edgewise, he had resorted to playing dead. Hopefully, the Arrancar would think it was over and leave. And just when his back was turned... he'd have a surprise. So Katsuo let his eyes flutter closed and only listened, waiting for the sound of retreating footsteps and maybe some more babbling about dominance. Whatever. If he got to fuck this guy up after the end of it all, it was worth it. On the other hand, if the Arrancar didn't leave and instead tried to finish the job, he was totally fucked. Katsuo wasn't even sure if he could move out of the way if that happened. And he was in no position to try now.
C'mon... fuck off for just two seconds... He willed the Arrancar to leave from his spot on the ground. He wasn't showing any defiance like this, was he? All Katsuo needed was for the bastard to turn his attention somewhere else for just a moment. He was practically invincible when he used his Fullbring, so after that, it would be a piece of cake. Rudianos would not believe that a few Bala would leave Katsuo in such a state. He knew that he could injure him, but to kill him? He saw it as out of the question. Truth be told, he had actually been holding back slightly - not much, but enough to keep Katsuo alive. It wouldn't have been any fun for him if the boy had just been killed outright, after all. He did not appear the least bit intimidated by his presence, after all - a little shocked, maybe but certainly not intimidated. As such, he would have to rely on actions.
"You will stay put, child." Rudianos' tone carried its ever-present malevolence, the slight glow in his eyes only serving to make him seem even more terrifying.
