---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page One ---------------------------------------- "What do you mean I have to go to the city? I have paper work due, and like twenty recruits to kick into shape...Damn it all."
Ever since Jin had been promoted to take the spot of the Captain seat of the tenth Division he was getting nothing but the worst assignments. He had to do all the paperwork, prepare the large scale events, and attacks, and train some recruits into thinking they were actually worth a shit. Now this, the city of Karakura had been safe for some time, or so he thought. They wanted him to go there and prepare some sort of emergency plan should the fighting escalate and take over the city. Jin sighed, set his paper work down, and left a note on the table for his Vice Captain to take over the paper work while he took over the initial planning stages. He grabbed Zetsumei from across the room, tied him to his waist, and shunpoed out of the division building. As he was shunpoing to a suitable spot to call the gateway, Jin started thinking over all the possible plans, traps, and ideas. As he thought about it, more and more, a wild grin slowly started to spread across his features. 'Perfect
Oh no, you're not actually excited about this now...are you? Zetsumei asked as he noted Jin's lips. This was interesting to say the least, and it could really let Jin test himself, push his creative thinking to new levels. As he landed to his typical spot, Jin straightened out his shinigami uniform, flapped his haori, and took long, proud strides toward the gateway. Stopping for a moment, Jin took note over everything on his person. Shihakushou? Check. Haori? Check. Zetsumei? Check. Hair in perfect fallen formation? Check. He grinned running his hand through the platinum white locks, as they gracefully fell back into place. Crimson hued eyes that swoon the ladies with a simple glance? Well, he could see fine enough, so check! He took one last look back before vanishing inside of the gateway, his hands entering his pockets.
The other side...
As Jin exited the gate, he looked around. He had managed to place himself in the park, away from any real major part of the population. His eyes scanned the area, his tongue slithered out softly going across his lips, wetting them. The park was beautiful today. The sun was out, the clouds were scarcely covering the sky, the wind was gentle but just strong enough to keep one cool. The park was empty, which was a shame no one was enjoying such a nice day, but it was best if this was going to work the way he wanted it to. He needed all the space and time available, and with the number of 'special' humans appearing, that wouldn't be an easy task. His eyes went back to scanning after making note of the scenery.
'There...' He noted internally, quickly shunpoing to a tree, he made some notes, and reached into his pocket. This was the perfect place to set up a seal, a possible detonation seal....did he have that available? Bah, he was sure the twelfth division could make it if they hadn't already. He pulled out a small crayon, marking the tree. Then standing atop the branches, his hair softly brushing against his cheeks as the wind blew gradually, Jin scanned the area with two crimson hued eyes. He needed to make more than just a tree, in the park, in the city. He needed to mark the entire city. 'This is gonna take a while...' --------------------------------- Word count: 620 [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Akio's Thoughts
Akio sighed loudly as he walked down the slightly crowded streets of Karakura town. In truth, he was surprised, the town of a 100,000 was usually more busy, especially on a beautiful day like this. The sun was out, hardly any clouds populating the sky, and a gentle breeze that kept one cool enough. Huh, I suppose everyone has gone to the beach, or something... Not that I really care though.
Still, he continued walking, his hands in his pockets. He had no idea where exactly he was going, but felt the sudden desire to go for a walk. Running a successful chain of business and being a Quincy can be quite stressful, even for a talented individual like himself. Walking past one of his favorite suit shops, he paused to window shop at the manikin displays. He always appreciated a nice suit, but decided that he had no need for a new one, also, the Skinny fit Burgundy suit that he was currently wearing, was comfortable.
Growing bored of window shopping, he turned on his heel and continued on his trek around Karakura. Urghh.. this is boring, perhaps the park will prove more exciting! Making his way to the park he continued to mentally go over a few things in his head - Until his thoughts were interrupted by the sudden appearance of a strong spiritual pressure.
Akio lifted his head up, alert, his senses and training kicking in. He analysed the spiritual pressure, it was strong, clearly a captain level. He focused on pin pointing it's location. Mmmm... and it's coming from the park as well, alright. This should be fun.
Grinning, he walked down the nearby alley, while he could have just used Hirenkyaku in the middle of the street, he preferred discretion. He was not risking having his powers discovered by the public. Now that he was in the alley, he put to use his Hirenkyaku and made a beeline for the park.
The spiritual pressure seemed to only get stronger as he apporached. It seems he might be worth a challenge, his spiritual pressure is stronger than mine... How annoying.
Coming out of Hirenkyaku and landing gracefully in the park, he out of habit, brushed imaginary dirt of his shoulder. Then putting his hands back in his pockets, he made another beeline for the source of the spiritual pressure. After walking for a minute of so, he spotted a lone figure -The source of the spiritual pressure - standing atop of a the branches of the tree.
His eyes locked with that of the Soul Reaper. Those crimson hued eyes oddly enticing, unique. He then briefly gave him a look over, Ah, so it's a Soul Reaper, huh? A Haori as well, my, my, this is going to be fun.
Walking over to the Soul Reaper Captain, he grinned, stopping fifteen feet sort of the tree. He slowly looked up at the death god.
"Ya know, it's a little odd for a Captain to be sight seeing." He chuckled mockingly, "You're not lost are you? He inspected his nails, continuing, an air of arrogance surrounding him."Because if you are, I can always give you directions.... He narrowed his eyes on the Captains, a hostile aura radiating off of him now, and obvious in his eyes. "With my bow."

---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page three ---------------------------------------- As his eyes continued to drop markings of interest within his mind, Jin couldn't help but feel the reiatsu of someone getting closer. They were strong, but nothing of major significance, at least in his eyes, and so he went back to his duties. He was an expert at mapping the area but wait, was that force still getting closer? Jin arched a brow, stopping what he was doing when the other man popped onto the scene. Well, well; a quincy. He placed his hand gently on the hilt of his katana, Zetsumei, just before the other man began to speak.
He listened with his left hand gently placed on his chin, nodding in accordance with what the man was saying. This, if it wasn't obvious to anyone around, was Jin mocking him. Jin had a knack for mocking others, sticking it to the man, and especially the woman. Jin leaned his body against the tree as the other man finished. He grinned, was he serious? Was he seriously going to threaten Jin? The STRAY DOG?! Well, not really stray any more, but nevertheless. Jin smirked, a small half chuckle, half scoff coming from his lips.
"I'm sure you could point me in the right direction with your bow my young quincy friend." He started, leaping from his tree branch, his hand now completely grasping his zanpakuto as he spoke once more, walking up to the other mans face. "None of you fuckers know how to aim. You're like Michael J. Fox trying to snipe....it just doesn't work!" Jin was more than knowledgeable when it came to human actors, famous people, and people of worth. Jin laughed to himself, slapping his knee taking a step back and pulling his blade from it's sheath.
"I'm sure you won't let me stay here without giving me some trouble. You Quincy always get strung up on doing the right thing. It's....actually really admirable." Jin grinned wildly as he twirled the blade into it's proper position with the blade upward, and the hilt pointing toward the ground. Jin tilted his head, raising his left hand toward the other man as he started to speak the name of a low level kidou. "Hadō 4 - Byakurai" He wasn't expecting the kidou to hit him, but he was curious to see what was going to happen with the other man, getting a read on his abilities. --------------------------------- Word count: 620 [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Because If you are, I can all ways give you directions... with my bow." Akio narrowed his eyes on the Captain, his hostile intent was clear. While Akio was one who most often planned these things out, he, today felt to throw caution out the window. He was bored, frustrated and on top of that, it had been a while since he had been truly tested. So, this little bout would prove a great chance to do so, further act as a stress relief.
He had noticed however, the way the Captain acted while he was talking to him. Clearly the Captain was mocking Akio, Tch. He will learn, that disrespecting me as such, is bad for your health. Shaking his head slightly. Hearing the Captain scoff, he frowned, again, it appeared the Captain was once again mocking him, or rather, he did not take his threat seriously. I guess, Actions speak louder than words. The Captain had a smirk on his face, Akio rolled his eyes.
"I'm sure you could point me in the right direction with your bow my young quincy friend."
Akio arched an eyebrow at the Captain, watching with little interest as he leaped from the tree, his hand grasping the hilt of his zanpakuto. He then began to walk towards him, before speaking again.
"None of you fuckers know how to aim. You're like Michael J. Fox trying to snipe....it just doesn't work!"
Akio was breifly confused as to who exactly Michael J. Fox was, truthfully, when it came to celebrities or other famous people, he was rather at a loss. He only ever concerned himself with those he deemed his competition, rivals and such. Everyone else, irrelevant. Michael J. Fox? Hmm.. What a petty insult. When the Captain laughed, slapped his knee, took a step back and unsheathed his zanpakuto, Akio grinned slightly, as of yet, he had made no move to remove his hands from his pockets.
"I'm sure you won't let me stay here without giving me some trouble. You Quincy always get strung up on doing the right thing. It's....actually really admirable."
Akio could not help but agree with that, I do not like Soul Reapers, that's reason enough to cause you trouble. He then watched as the Captain twirled his sword into proper position. Seems he likes to make a show of things.... Akio frowned slightly again as the Captain tilted his head, his left hand extended and pointed towards himself. Akio fiddled idly with a ginto capsule that was in his right pocket.
"Hadō 4 - Byakurai"
Akio eyes widened a little as the concentrated blast of lightning soared towards him. Akio used Hirenkyaku to evade the hado rather effortlessly. Hmm.. what are you up to? trying to figure out my capabilties? Tch. Pitiful. Nonetheless, Akio came out of hirenkyaku a top of the tree the Captain had been a top of. Looking down at the Captain, Akio face became serious.
"You should be more careful where you aim that, would not want to harm anyone now, would we?" Akio chuckled, his right hand fiddling with the Ginto, silently debating whether or not to use it from this position. "Either way, you will have to do better, if you want me to break a sweat." He withdrew his left hand, reached into his suit jacket, withdrawing a Seele Schneider. Deciding to stick to the Seele Schneider, he activated it. He then proceeded to beckon the Captain to 'come at him', with his Schneider.

---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page five ---------------------------------------- He couldn't help but laugh at the other man, he sure was something else. Sure, he was fast, and sure, he was a quincy, but did that mean he needed to hate all shinigami? He shrugged, and it wasn't like Jin knew that he hated all of them, but the way he spoke, looked, and acted, it almost seemed clear. Jin's eyes followed the other man, his blade dipping a bit as the other man took to the trees, just like Jin had moments ago. His chest started to heave, his cheeks and lips slowly forming a wild grin with his canines forming. He was laughing. This other man was fine with speaking, and acting tough, but he just took Jin's vantage point. Leaning forward, planting his sword into the ground, Jin arched a brow, and pointed his finger accusingly.
"Gotta say, for a Quincy you're taking a lot of notes from little ol' me!" Leaning back, taking the blade from the ground and nodding, Jin couldn't agree more. Placing his hand over his face, covering his eyes, Jin started to speak. "You're right...I do have to do more. Maybe....just maybe this'll help with that endeavor." Bringing his hand down, Jin flared his reiatsu to it's peak. He wanted this Quincy to feel the weight, to squander and flop like a fish out of water. He wanted it to become so hard to breath he would need an oxygen tank. However, this Quincy truly wanted more? Well, who was he to deny him his request?
Jin gathered reiatsu to his feet, and in an instant, vanished. His shunpo was top grade among the shinigami, even comparable to some of the greats with their ranks now. Seeing him was one thing, but reacting was an entirely different thing. Among other things, Jin was also a master swordsman. He had spent his entire second life training three things. His shunpo, his hankou, and his zanjutsu. He mastered the sword, the step, and could take one hell of a beating. Appearing to the right of the man, both feet planted on the branch, bringing his blade from left to right in a stroking slash, Jin would aim to cut the man on his arm. Nothing major, but just a small cut.
Whether or not the attack landed, Jin would once more shunpo but this time aiming to get away from the other man. If he wanted to retaliate, he would have to get to him, and show Jin that this Quincy, or any Quincy for that matter, was worth a damn. Akio was somewhat interested in the Captain, Judging by the number on his Haori, Squad Ten... Which to my knowledge are responsible for large scale operations, irrelevant, though. He continued to eye the Captain, while he may come off cocky, that very fact that the Captains spiritual pressure was larger than his, proved that he had some skill.
Still, Akio was more than sure he could fight on equal terms, unless he went into Bankai, that would cause some problems. Akio was only a human, a spiritually gifted one at that. He noticed the Captains chest heave, a wide grin making it's way onto his face, his canines on show. He then laughed, much to Akio's mild surprise. I wonder, do all Captains act like this? or is it just this one... I already have enough reasons to hate them, I do not need more. He almost sighed. Almost.
He arched an eyebrow when the Captain planted his sword into the ground, then pointed an accusing finger at him. Akio bit back a scoff, but snarled.
"Gotta say, for a Quincy you're taking a lot of notes from little ol' me!"
Akio ignored the remark, more bothered about the fact that he leaned back, pulled his sword out of the ground and nodded, clearly in agreement with what he had said. He then placed his hand over his face, covering his eyes. You sure are one weird Shinigami...
"You're right...I do have to do more. Maybe....just maybe this'll help with that endeavor."
Now Akio smirked, Finally, you've beat around the bush enough. the Captain then flared it's reiatsu to it's peak. It was powerful, very powerful. The difference between their reiatsu's was as clear as day, and while he would never admit it, he did indeed feel the effect of the sudden 'weight'. Still, he was battle trained, used to this.
Not a second later Akio completely lost sight of him, then suddenly appeared to his right, Hn. He's fast, that will become a problem. He also took note of the Captains sword. It was long, akin to a nodachi, meaning it would be more than hard enough getting in close to rid him of the advantage of using his blade easily. He was within the four foot range of his blade. Quickly, Akio jumped back, narrowly avoiding the blade. In fact, he noticed the blade cut his cheek. A thin almost unnoticeable wound if it was not for the tiny trickle of blood.
Akio also noted that any more steps back and he would have fallen from the tree. Still, he regained his composure. He watched as the Captain shunpo'd away, An invitation? I suppose there would be no fun if it were easy.
Using Hirenkyaku, he appeared right before the Captain, slashing with his Seele Schneider - as soon as the Reishi blade met the Captain's sword, he hirenkyaku'd five feet behind him. Reaching into his pocket and withdrawing the Ginto he had been playing with earlier. Throwing it at his exposed back, Akio spoke the incantation.
"Bring my enemy to ash, Drachenodem!"
As soon as the word left his mouth, the Ginto capsule exploded in a violent burst of Reishi which resembled a dragon breathing fire. He wanted to test the Captain's true speed, this attack could be dodged, or perhaps the cocky Captain would let it hit him. He then Hirenkyaku'd away, some twenty feet from the Captain, drawing upon his bow.

---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page seven ---------------------------------------- Jin frowned for a moment when he noticed that the Quincy had dodged his attack...or had he? Jin grinned at the small cut, well he knew that 'touching' the enemy with his sword wasn't going to be impossible. Should Jin ever need his shikai, this man might be able to meet a couple of Jin's puppies. Grinning wildly, and once more taking his position, Jin's eyes watched the other man, following his energy signature. What would this other man do? Would he confront the captain, or would he use the distance like quincy liked to do so much? Jin could only wonder, his mind racing with the many ideas, scenarios and possibilities. This day was going to be glorious.
His eyes shooting open, Jin noticed something most quincy never do. A frontal assault? Jin rose his blade up sideways, blocking the attack from the quincy version of a sword....or would it be better described as a butter knife? Laughing inwardly, Jin turned his head for a moment, arching a brow as the man dug into his pocket. What was he getting? Was that...a ginto? He definitely pulled out a capsule, and then shot it at him. Jin started to turn his body, and the other man started to speak while he did so. It was a ginto, Jin wondered what it was going to do.
Enemy to....ash? Did he steal Yama's moves? Loser... The thought raced through his mind as he grabbed his haori. He wasn't about to just sit here and take it without some sort of cover. Twirling the cloth cover, Jin covered his body with the haori as the flame started to engulf his body. For a moment, and this was all thanks to Jin's acting, it seemed that this little fire ball was enough. But, despite his well acting, Jin couldn't help but do one thing. Laugh.
"Hahaha, you Quincy are really something...You know...I've got a fri-On second thought, I'll save that for later..." Without commenting on his friend, Jin brought his sword through the flame, slashing downward expelling the fire and ash into nothingness. Jin received a few scraps from the fire, but the haori covered most of his body, reducing the damage that was dealt. Not that he really felt it anyway. Jin walked through the black cloud, his hair, body, and white bandages around his neck all in tact. "but you might want to work on it bro...." Taking a more offensive stance, Jin lowered his body, and head, only briefly looking up and saying.... "I hardly felt a thing."
As Jin watched the other man form his bow, he grinned. He was getting serious, and perhaps in a few rounds, so would Jin. As he brought his left hand forward, gathering reiatsu to it, Jin quickly shunpoed to the mans front. He was still in his lowered stance, and he only stayed in this spot for a moment, literally feinting his attack to gather time to charge the kidou in his left hand. Appearing to the left of his target, Jin brought his hand up. He was building tension, suspense, hopefully making his opponent wonder just what he was going to do.
However, there was something different about it this time. The grin wasn't malicious, it wasn't angry, but more of a playful grin. He chuckled softly as the words left his lips. "Shō (Clash)" The move he used was the most basic of Hado, something so basic that all it did was...push the target. This however, had it's purpose. Hopefully using it in the right time, and with the right affect, it would cause his opponent to nudge backwards leaving him open for his next two strikes.
Should the move work, Jin would leaped forward, dipping his body down and bringing his leg upward with a quick strike aimed for the stomach to lift the target into the air. Then, should that second strike (second to the kidou) land, Jin would bring his sword downward in a striking motion, aiming to cut the quincy slightly across the chest from left pectoral, to right abdomen. The cut wouldn't be anything major, but a cut nevertheless.

Akio watched as the Captain made no move to avoid his Ginto capsule, Huh, cocky bastard. While he had not wanted to use the technique so early, he had his reasons. He knew right of the bat, that the Soul Reaper's speed clearly surpassed his own. His sword skills also seemed up to scratch, Years of training, which puts me at a dis-advantage...Seems I will have to stick to ranged combat for the time being.
He drew out his bow, watching as the Captain twirled his Haori to fully cover himself as the violent burst of Reishi swallowed up his opponent. To the some, it looked as though the Ginto had killed the Captain, but AKio new that was not the case. The sound of the Captain laughing caused Akio to sigh. Such an irritating individual.
"Hahaha, you Quincy are really something...You know...I've got a fri-On second thought, I'll save that for later..."
Akio arched an eyebrow, Huh, seems he has a little surprise for me later on, I wonder what it could be?, still, Akio ignored it for the time being, more interested in watching the Captain as he brought his sword downwards, expelling the flame into nothing. As the Captain walked through the smoke, Akio noticed the lack of damage. That surprised him, other than a few noticeable scraps from the flame, everything else was in tact.
"but you might want to work on it bro...."
He then took an offensive stance, to which Akio prepared himself, ready on the defensive, he still had no idea at how strong this Captain was. Defense was key at the moment.
"I hardly felt a thing."
Akio smirked, while inside, that remark anger Akio, he nonetheless was beginning to enjoy his opponent's trash talk. He formed his bow, using his Seele Schneider as his arrow.
Within a second that Captain vanished from his sight, appearing a few feet in front of Akio, his stance lowered. Akio on instinct drew back on his bow, and fired his Seele Schneider towards the Captain, only for him to vanish again, his Seele Schneider missing, and burying itself into the tree some way's behind the Captain. Hah, it seems I fell for that feint... Fucking asshole.
Akio's eyes widened fractionally as the Captain appeared to his left, the Soul Reaper grinned playfully, and with a soft chuckle, unleashed a Kido.
"Shō"
Akio was stunned for a mere instant, he had no idea the capabilities of a Soul Reapers Kido, nor had he ever heard of this one. Still, he nonetheless felt himself be involuntarily nudged backwards. This must be the effects of the Kido, interesting.
He stopped his thoughts dead as the Captain dipped his body down, striking out with his leg for his exposed stomach. Akio frowned, the Kido had thrown him off balance, and made it hard to block. Still, he was not going to try - Using his bow, he threw his fist down, in an attempt to block the kick, or at least weaken the impact. The kick connected with the center piece of his bow, weakening the blow somewhat, but still enough to send him a little ways into the air.
He snarled when the Captain made to follow up on the 'opening' with his sword. He slashed with his sword at an diagonal angle, going from his left pectoral to his right abdomen. Akio nonetheless hirnekyaku'd away.
"Having fun yet Quincy? Cause I am!"
Akio frowned, he had narrowly escaped that attack. Narrowly. However he had learn a few more things about the Captain, He's cocky, stupid, fast, tough and stubborn... Coming out of Hirenkyaku behind the Captain, he drew back on his bow. A murderous glee in his eyes.
"Of course, however, I would focus more on the battle, than the trash talk, kid."
He then let loose a barrage of arrows, while they were weak, they would distract him and allow Akio to get up close and personal. Making his bow disappear, he reached into his suit jacket, pulling his second Seele Schneider out. He also mentally noted he only had two more.
Uses Hirenkyaku, he appeared at the Captain's side, slashing hard and fast, he then moved to the Captain's other side, slashing again. He paid no heed as to whether on not he hit him, right now, he was keeping the Captain on his toes, and that, in time would create an opening for Akio to expose. He also wanted to see how well the Captain could use his sword in close quarter combat. Using hinrenkyaku, he appeared behind the Captain, lashing out with a fist, punching him in the spine. While it was by no means a powerful punch, he was sure the Captain would feel it. With the Seele Schneider in his other hand, he made for a precise stab at his back, perhaps underestimating the Captain's speed.
"You have yet to really impress me." He remarked as he thrust his Seele Schneider.

--------------------------------- //I will not bow// « "I will not fall, I will not fade!" »
---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page nine ---------------------------------------- Jin grinned wildly as the young quincy fell for his feint, but then something came over him as the man blocked, and then dodged his kick, and slash respectively. This particular feeling wasn't anger, confusion, or sadness. No no no; Jin was happy. He was glad to see the quincy dodging, moving, blocking and keeping himself out of harms way; that meant Jin could keep fighting for a longer time. He could show this young man that he wasn't evil, but he was a cool guy.
This was all sent to the back of his mind however as the quincy took the offensive after dodging his last attack. Then, as the young man exited his stepping technique, Jin arched a brow and turned his head. Hm, is that his bow? interesting... Then the boy spoke...Jin blinked, being taken aback by his statement. "Kid? Dude...I've been alive for four centuries." He laughed for a moment, what was he about to do? Then, as the arrows started to fly, Jin couldn't help but start laughing even harder. The arrows were just bouncing off of his skin. Yet, it seemed the quincy had taken another note from Jin's book on 'How to win fights', feinting out, heading to his side, and using that wannabe toy sword to try and cut the young captain.
These strikes, they were slow, so very slow. And his swordsmanship could use some work. Jin brought his sword across matching the boys speed, knocking his weapon away. He moved again, and Jin followed, twirling his body; Same step, knocking the blade away and waiting for his next move. And then he was behind Jin, and for a moment Jin sighed, becoming bored. Where were the explosions, arrows, and that thing...volst-what-cha-ma-call-it. Jin then felt a small, yet some what forceful punch to his back. He turned his head, and then laughed; so he had some strength to him. Well, that was interesting for a quincy.
Then, as Jin grinned, waiting for his next move he spoke again. Wait just a minute! Jin shunpoed away from the attack, pacing back and forth within a four foot radius. "Haven't impressed you yet? ME?!" Jin laughed, licked his lips and then stopped. His hand twirling his sword around, his eyes staring at it. For a moment, it would look like he was in deep thought; as if he were trying to come up with the cure for cancer or something. But, after a few moments longer, he turned his head. His eyes were cold, calculating, and his reiatsu was flaring. "You want to be impressed....BOY?! Then...let me oblige your taste for how the shinigami works.""Death be with YOU. Zetsumei...." At this point Jin had his blade pointed at the young man, his eyes staying on him while the words that left his lips truly sounded as if they were directed at this other man. Jin wasn't angry, no, in fact he was acting. He could never truly be angry at someone, not for something so...petty. But he could give the other man a nice scare. Then, as the blade started to glow the soft red crimson, the blade started to shift. The blade grew around a foot, giving him a little bit more room to play, the hilt turned into three dog heads roaming one another; and inside the blade? 'Spirits' roaming like fire. Slashing the blade down, the transformation was complete."Time to play!" Shunpoing instantly, Jin appeared behind the quincy, his hand up as he muttered a few words. "Geki (Strike)" The kidou of choice? Number nine, Geki. Should this kidou land, it will completely paralyze the enemy, and should THAT happen. Well, let's just say his gut may not be able to handle just what happens afterward. Shunpoing to his front, whether on not the kidou worked, Jin would now bring his shikai down across the mans chest. In the scenario this lands, and blood is spilled, from the muck of blood created will rise a dog. A dog like no other. A dog made of blood, and this dog has a taste for quincy flesh. Akio frowned as the Captain shunpo'd away from his 'stab to the back', he was starting to lose his patience with this douche. He watched with annoyance, and somewhat a tiny bit of intrigued as the Captain started to pace back and forth.
"Haven't impressed you yet? ME?!"
Akio rolled his eyes as the Captain laughed, Seriously, could this brat get anymore annoying? Probably. Akio sighed, not the Captain looked deep in thought, Huh, it appears that he actually has a brain. When the Captain looked back at him, Akio new straight of the bat that something was different, for ones his eyes were cold, calculating, and his reiastu was flaring.
You want to be impressed....BOY?! Then...let me oblige your taste for how the shinigami works."
Yes, please do, before I grow old and die.
"Death be with YOU. Zetsumei...."
Akio turned his head a little, intrigued, it was clear that the emphasis on the 'YOU', was meant for him. Akio could care less, he was more concerned with the way the sword was pointed towards him. It started to glow a soft red crimson, the blade extended an extra foot, the hilt turning three dogs roaming each other, and inside the blade, spirits roaming like a fire. He then slashed down, Hmm.. this must be the Shikai release I have heard so much about. Interesting.
"Time to play!"
Akio stopped his thoughts, yes, yes it was time to play, he prepared himself, gripping the Seele Schneider a little more tightly and taking a offensive stance. However he was still unused to the Captain's speed as he appeared behind him.
"Geki (Strike)"
Akio instantly felt the effects of the Kido, he could not move, he was paralyzed. Huh, this could prove troublesome.
And it did. As the Captain shunpo'd in front of him, bringing his sword down across his exposed chest. Akio gritted his teeth, such a cowardly move, to pin a target and then attack. Haven been cut, Akio thrummed his spiritual pressure to the fullest, breaking out of the paralyzing kido. He then, instinctively hinrenkyaku'd away from the Captain, fascinated by what exactly was happening to his split blood.
A single blood hound formed purely out of his own blood appeared. This was new, never had Akio faced such a thing, nor such a power. These Soul Reapers are truly fascinating.
"Alright, consider me impressed, Captain. That power is truly unique. Nevertheless, hitting me again wont be so easy." As soon as he finished, the blood hound attacked, firing a blast of reiastu towards him. Akio dodged the attack, side stepping, though he felt the blast on reiastu blast past him, still, he made no halt in his movements. Swiping up with his Seele Schneider, he made to cut the blood hound in half.
"Die you bitch!"
The blood hound fell swiftly, which surprised Akio, he had figured it would have endured more. Even so, I need to keep my guard up, I can't afford to be left so open again. Even so, Akio drew his bow, preparing for a swift counter attack. He noticed that the cut across his chest was quite deep, by no means fatal, but painful, and now made his chest somewhat more vulnerable.
He began to use Hirenkyaku, appearing at many different positions around and above the Captain, shooting arrows as he appeared. These arrows where a lot stronger than his previous ones, and somewhat faster. After twenty of so arrows, he hirnekyaku'd to the Captain's side, around 6 feet away from him. This way, the Captain would take the brunt of his next attack.
"Pfeil Sperrfeuer! (Arrow Barrage)"
He released his bow, shooting a barrage of arrows similar in appearance to the Quincy Licht Regen, however with a lot less arrows. The barrage of arrows covered a total height of 12ft, a width of 12 ft and a total length of 34ft.

---------------------------------------- An Arrows Edge - Chapter One - Page Eleven ---------------------------------------- Jin turned his head away for a moment, his eyes watering up, and turning a soft pink where the white was. Jin just watched his poor little blood hound get torn in half by a quincy, and he called it a bitch. Then, bringing his fist up, closing his eyes and taking a moment for silence. Jin turned his head toward the other man. He had admitted that Jin impressed him, but at what cost? The poor dog just wanted to play. Jin shook his head, and then watched as the man moved from spot to spot, releasing arrows upon arrows on the young captain.
Sure, Jin was fast, and sure, he could take a lot of hits, and this time was no different. Or so he thought. Jin took on the first barrage of arrows, only barely blocking them with his sword, and arms up. And boy was that a mistake. The moment the first wave of arrows hit, Jin shunpoed back, his brow arching and then looking back at the quincy. So he was holding back? The arrows didn't cause any serious damage, but they did enough to make Jin weary of sitting in them for too long. Shunpoing from spot to spot, using his sword to knocking away any arrows that strayed close enough he noticed that the man appeared to his right.
Jin already had a feeling for what was coming, and instinctively cut his own arm to open a wound, creating his own dog which he used as a shield. He still took enough of the arrows to warrant some concern, but that all passed. Jin shunpoed back, his left arm bleeding, his black shinigami uniform torn a bit, and his hair a mess. He grinned wildly, standing straight up. His shoulders lifting, and his head dipping to the side. "Very nice Quincy...very nice indeed. But I'm sorry. I've already spent too much time on this fight. I really need to get back to work." Jin had complete and utter resolve to end this battle soon, and he had just the idea to do that.
Leaning down, he cut his leg ever so slightly, the blood spilling out creating another dog. The dog didn't move this time, instead standing beside Jin waiting for his next movement. Jin placed his hand over the dog, pulsating his reiatsu for a moment before the dog created another sword. This sword mirrored his zanpaukto in appearance, but was all red. Next, Jin swung his zanpakuto, a red glyph appearing under him. This glyph siphoned two ounces of blood from his feet. While it was doing this, Jin used the cut he made on his arm to coat his blade with blood, sending reiatsu into it to keep the blood from spilling. Now, as time seemed to pass by the nanosecond, the stage was set.
Under him two red beams left the glyph heading toward the other man. These beams were moderately paced, but they were only a distraction. Using his superior speed, Jin shunpoed to the other mans left, throwing his sword at the other man; once more, these had no intention of hitting the enemy. But were merely used for distraction purposes to keep him from hopefully seeing Jin's true motive. After the second blade left his hands, Jin shunpoed to the mans front, bringing his blade down, attempting to cut midway across the other mans chest, overlapping the first cut with this one. To add to the initial slash and as it finished, a second "beam" slash will exit the blade and also try to hit the man, literally in the same spot the sword would have made contact. Should the man dodge the slash the beam will shoot forward in a straight line. Akio frowned, a well-manicured hand running through his nice, well looked after silver hair. He was annoyed, the Captain was good, very good. His cockiness was more than well deserved, he seemed to be making short work of Akio's arrows, seemingly ignoring the few that hit him. Huh, I suppose he is ought to be good, I doubt that old fucker would enlist just anyone as an Captain. After releasing 'Pfeil Sperrfeuer' he had hirenkyaku'd to a safe distance and watched.
He became intrigued when he saw the Captain cut his own arm, creating a dog from the blood and using it as a shield. Akio had to agree with himself, this mans Shikai was truly unique, one he had no intention to underestimate. He had to wonder what exactly the limitations off his power were, clearly noting major, the Captain seemed hardly phased at his wound. To further Akio's annoyance the Dog did as it was meant to, soaking up all the arrows from his attack. He then shunpo'd back, allowing Akio to take in his slightly damaged appearance. Not that it was really worth noting.
"Very nice Quincy...very nice indeed. But I'm sorry. I've already spent too much time on this fight. I really need to get back to work."
Akio noded, accepting the compliment on his skills, anything to feed the ego. However,m he also knew that the Captain was no longer going to play games, he was going to get serious, This should be fun., Akio studied him like a hawk, intrigued as the Captain cut his leg ever so slightly, creating another dog that stood beside it's master. The Captain then placed his hand over the dog, summoning replica of his Zanpakuto, the only difference was that it was all red. Akio assumed the swiping of his zanpakuto was the finally move, as it summoned a red glyph that appeared under him. Staring intently at the glyph, he ignored what the Captain was doing.
As soon as the glyph shot the two red beams, Akio pounced into action, dodging the first, and with his Seele Schneider, deflecting the other. With that done, he pivoted on his heel, intercepting the blow to his left, ignoring the fact that it had no intention of hitting him. When the Captain shunpo'd to his front, realization dawned on Akio's face, the attacks had been a distraction. Mentally swearing he tried his best to intercept the attack, wincing slightly when the sword was brought down, slashing his chest, creating a wound that overlapped his previous one. When a second beam appeared Akio tried his best to intercept it with his Seele Schneider.
He managed to block it, however, being off balance from the slash, and the overall power of the beam, Akio was sent hurtling towards the ground, impacting with a sickening 'Smack'.
Akio was not stupid, he knew he was hurt, he knew this fight was going to be in the Captain's favor. However, he would hard pressed to let him win so easily. Being in potentially life threatening situation, Akio switched to his primal instincts, bursting from the dust cloud had covered the impact zone he met the Captain mid way. Slashing like a rage filled beast. His slashes were quick, precise, Akio was bearing the last reserves of his stamina. The impact into the ground had winded him considerably.
He reached out at the Captain, grabbing him by the scruff of his uniform, and with a lot of strength threw him into a tree. In that same motion, the second the Captain had left his clutch, he drew upon his bow and fired his Seele Schneider after the Captain, before drawing back on his bow. He was uses his 'second wind' as it were, with that, none of this would be possible. He laucnhed a barrage of arrows towards the Captain, using every ounce of his being to make these arrows a hell of a lot more lethal. At the same time however, it also left him vulnerable, he would be more than exhausted after this, given his injuries.

Jin sighed, his eyes closing for a moment; this young man was truly trying to take Jin out. He was trying to win this fight with everything he had but there was something he missed. That initial cut he had landed on his body? The one that sent him down to the ground with that defining smack? Well that same cut had spawned another dog; this dog festered, boiled, and grew until he let out a soft howl. The red hued eyes staring at it's target. The other man.
However, Jin wasn't going to wait around while the man got up,and used that time to vanish, leaving an after image behind. He did this while the other man stood, and decided to take refuge in the neighboring tree while this man acted on rage alone. This after image was taking the hits, as if it were truly there. However this would not last forever, and Jin needed to end this battle now before the young man lost his mind.
Running his released sword along his still open wound, Jin prepared to end this battle now. Shunpoing to the young mans back, Jin whispered into his ear. "You need to relax kid." Before he could react though, Jin would dip his entire body down, lifting his leg to the young mans back to knock him into the air. Then bringing his body (and his sword) around, Jin would swing his sword toward the young man sending the arcing beam at the man. He decided to avoid cutting him again, but instead simply trying to knock him unconscious.
Jin was sure that these two attacks would be the end of this fight; the young man was exhausted, and with Jin's superior speed and planning, catching him off guard, and using his skill with his sword victory was all but assured. Shunpoing up to the young man, he grabbed him and brought him down. Setting him on the ground, and grinning. "You are strong. That's not a lie, but I'm just better. How about we go get a drink, and I can show you some better ways to swing that little butter knife of yours." Jin laughed before standing up, waiting for his new quincy pal to join him.
