[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;] Goodbye.... | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;]It was another typical day for Orihime, she woke up, made herself a red bean paste, left over fried fish sandwich with peanut butter and banana for breakfast, did her daily prayer for her brother, and then left to school. It was the same routine everyday and honestly she didn't mind, it was comfortable. However, for the last few months things have been happening, strange beings had been showing up and causing trouble, she knew they were dangerous, but wasn't sure quite what they were. It made her worry for her friends. As the school day came to a close Orihime seemed to sink further into her wild imagination as an escape, a means of distraction from the events which had been taking place so she didn't worry herself sick over everyone. Tatsuki had gotten past her daydreaming to manage a conversation with her and had accompanied her out the school as the two chatted, but once the two parted ways, after Orihime insisting she was fine, she became lost in thought once more. Whatever was going on was something big, or was going to lead up to it, that much she was sure of. She just had no idea what. Eventually her thoughts of what this could mean lead her right back to daydreaming again, robot armies thrashing towns beneath their feet. Her and her friends were the super robot force to stop the evil army from causing harm and killing the normal citizens, it was such a vivid sight in Orihime's mind that she eventually didn't even see where she was going. Sadly for her that meant she was crossing the road blind, and there was a car speeding down the road... HAN: 9 REI:9 HAK:10 SEI:10 BUK:7 HOH:5 ....Halcyon days. |

Sayuri sighed as she walked into the apartment. Despite the fact that she had just gotten back from the dojo, she wanted to head right back out. It was a beautiful day – perfect for a run. It looked like the twins weren’t back yet, either. Hamish had been trying to get Seamus out and about for a while now, so she wasn’t about to really question where the two hare-brains were at. It just meant they wouldn’t be all clingy if she turned right around and went on a run. And she was already nicely warmed up from her dojo workout, so that worked out nicely. She would just take it easy so she didn’t tear anything important.
She went to her room and changed into running shorts and a tank top. Before she went to lace up her shoes, she left a Sticky Note on the fridge to let the twins know what she was up to and to call her if anything came up. She knew they would still worry, but she’d make it up to them by cooking tonight. With the note stuck to the fridge, she finally laced up her running shoes and left. Outside, she put on her headphones and scrolled to her running music on her iPod. She set the playlist to shuffle and took off at a moderate pace to the sound of Celtic Woman’s “Granuaile’s Dance.”
It was about a half-hour into her run when she started to pass a lot of school kids. It was probably the end of the school day, then. That was one thing she didn’t miss – school. She’d never particularly enjoyed it and she hadn’t exactly been popular, either. She and her brothers had had their fair share of fights, simply because their father wasn’t Japanese. Sayuri shook her head. No, she didn’t miss it at all.
As she neared a corner, she noticed a girl crossing the street. At first, Sayuri didn’t pay too much mind to it – it was the end of the school day and kids were going home. But then she noticed the vibrant orange hair. That was rather unusual. She watched the girl as she drew closer to the corner and realized the girl wasn’t paying the slightest bit of attention to her surroundings. There was a car headed straight for the girl as she crossed the street – and she hadn’t even noticed! Sayuri sped up and hooked left into the street. As she passed the girl, she grabbed her arm and dragged her along – both of them just barely missing the car as it zoomed past with a loud honk. Sayuri didn’t stop until they were both safely on the other side of the street. Panting a little from the sudden burst of speed, she pulled her headphones down so that they rested on her neck and glared down at the shorter girl. “Didn’t anyone ever tell you to look both ways before you cross a street?” she asked irritably. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;] Goodbye.... | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;]The sound of the speeding car wasn't even enough to wake Orihime from what one could consider sleep walking, her mind was too far gone to notice things about the outside world. Though while she herself was absent, her subconscious tried it's best to warn her of the impending danger, and eventually succeeded. Sadly however, by the time she realized what was going on it was too late for her to get out of the way. Starring back at the honking car barreling too close for comfort like a deer caught in the headlights. Fortunately, she was yanked away just at the nick of time, though she had no idea who it was who had just saved her. The car sped by with a few more honks and curse words thrown out the window at the two. Orihime blinked rapidly as if she was still coming out of her day dream trance then looked over to the girl who had just saved her when she spoke, nervous laughter spilled from her lips as part of her reply before she even opened her mouth to speak. Embarrassed that she was so far gone she almost got hurt, she really needed to start paying more attention, as well as stop day dreaming while walking. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Thanks for saving me though." She replied, was this other woman so irritable because of what had just happened? Wouldn't most people sound more relieved? Well, anyone would be annoyed if they had to save someone who seemed to ditzy to pay attention to where they were going, she she understood why. "My name's Orihime! What's yours?" She asked cheerfully. HAN: 9 REI:9 HAK:10 SEI:10 BUK:7 HOH:5 ....Halcyon days. |

Sayuri rolled her eyes. Of course the girl hadn’t been paying attention. If she had, she wouldn’t have almost died just now. Sayuri shook her head slightly and waved away the girl’s thanks. As annoyed as she was now, she hadn’t really been thinking much about the action when she’d been pulling the girl out of harm’s way. It was just the right thing to do, wasn’t it? She’d just make sure the girl was totally in the real world before continuing her jog. But she was stopped by the girl’s cheerful tone before Sayuri could say a word.
“My name’s Orihime! What’s yours?”
Sayuri sighed a little. She wasn’t really out to make friends. She’d just wanted to go for a damn run. So bothersome. But she couldn’t very well be rude about it. Her mother would’ve scolded her if she tried. “I go by Ualas,” she replied curtly, looking the girl over as she did. For some reason, this redhead looked sort of familiar. You’d think it would be easy to remember someone with that kind of hair – particularly in Japan. But Sayuri couldn’t place her. She frowned very slightly as she tried to recall, but it just made her head hurt. She shoved the thought aside. “I take it you’re headed home from school?” HAN:1 REI:3 HAK:6 SEI:1 BUK:6 HOH:3

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;] Goodbye.... | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;]Well, so far the woman seemed less friendly by the second. Orihime thought maybe she was just irritated about what happened, but perhaps this woman just simply wasn’t as friendly as she had thought. The curt way she answered about her name didn’t appear to bother Orihime, just seeming to brush it off and keep up that friendly smile. Though, the longer she looked at the woman the more she had the strange feeling that, maybe they had met…? Where though? When? How long ago? When the questions kept piling up Orihime just decided not to dwell on it, after all, if they had met wouldn’t she remember? Wouldn’t the Sayuri remember too? ”That’s a unique name! It’s nice to meet you Ualas-san!” Orihime beamed cheerfully; maybe she was too cheerful at times, but that was the only way she knew how to be. A cheerful ray of sunshine that always sees the bright side of life! Even if that bright side seemed to be much more dull some days than others. She was never one to think too much about all the bad things that happened, what good would that do anyway? Hearing Sayuri’s question, she gave a quick nod. ”Yeah, it just let out not too long ago. I thought about just continuing to walk around a little bit, but then my stomach growled at me so I decided going home would be better.” Perhaps a little more information than Sayuri would be interested in hearing, but she had the tendency to ramble on some times, at least she stopped before what she was detailing for dinner. Sayuri grunted at Orihime’s overly exuberant delight in her surname. She’d never been able to really handle people like Orihime seemed to be. They were just too…upbeat, too happy. It was almost as if they were either unaware of the darkness in the world or willfully ignored it. Both reasons were equally frustrating. And inevitably, she found such individuals to be exhausting. They were always high-energy and extroverted – pretty much the exact opposite of Sayuri. And this girl…well, she seemed to be a little neònach. Ach, what had she gotten herself into?
She quirked an eyebrow as Orihime rambled a bit. Would it really be wise to leave this girl to her own devices? She’d nearly been killed just now. “I…see. Would you like some company on your walk home? You seemed a little distracted before and I don’t want you to risk nearly getting run over again. Once was bad enough.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;] Goodbye.... | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:350px;]Well, it seemed that maybe this girl wasn’t as mean as she came off; after all she just offered to walk Orihime home, which said something right? She nodded enthusiastically and smiled to Sayuri, perhaps she really did make a new friend today. ”Sure, I’d like that!” She answered cheerfully, though she laughed awkwardly at her comment, once was too many times to be honest, but sometimes Orihime just got lost in herself like that. And with that she slowly started walking again; not wanting to leave the other girl behind or seem rude, but she was leading her in the direction of her apartment. ”So…What were you doing out here?” Orihime asked curiously, though Sayuri seemed to be dressed for a run she didn’t assume that was the case. Really she was just trying to make small talk, given how irritated Sayuri could become Orihime felt a little awkward, and saying nothing would only make that worse. So while it would sound like a stupid question, really it was just a means of trying to break the ice.
