Serian was walking down the pathway in the deserted park under the pale moon light. Beside him was his only true companion, Snow , his Siberian Husky. Hidden within his sleeves were two wrist sheaths for his throwing knives. He had been pulled out of his home to walk the park at night, unable to sleep, like most night recently. Tonight though seemed different to Serian. He truly did not feel tired anymore, almost as if his lonely soul had found something. He honestly did not know what was going on with him lately though, no matter what happened around him. Slowly the sound of his Canine trotting along next to him, started to make him, if not exactly smile, smirk.
Out of everyone he knew right now, his dog understood him better than some of the other Obelisks, which were some of the only ones on his side who were also on his level. He was glad for that, even if it meant that he was almost always enveloped in silence, since dogs can’t talk. He was content though to let the silent peace of night lay around him as he enjoyed this silence. It was several minutes before Serian started to notice that the silent peace had changed, gaining weight. The air itself had seemed to become charged with an unnatural energy for this time of the night. Sensing that something spiritual was happening on this night of all nights, Serian adjusted his wrist cuffs on his white silk shirt, so as to check his knives, as the hairs upon Snow’s back bristled.
Even though the moon lent silken threads of silvery moon light to keep the darkness of night at bay, the shadows seemed weighted. Unsure of what was hidden within the trees, Serian kept his bright blue eyes shifting among the surrounding shadows. Snow’s growl was all that could be heard in the unnatural silence that pervaded the park. “Stay calm, Snow.” Still glancing around, Serian laid a hand upon Snow’s head, hoping to calm him, or at least to keep him from rocketing off into the bushes. Just as Serian was starting to continue with his stroll through the night, a shadow separates from the surrounding trees. One of those monstrosities stood before him, those Hollows, and it salivated as it looked towards him. ”Snow,… stay.”
With its appearance, it truly showed its hellish nature as it resembled that of the typical devil except for the bone white mask. And though most Hollows seemed to show little sense Serian was impressed when this one started to speak. “You looks sooo delicious for a human. I can literally taste your spirit from here.” So it wasn’t much smarter after al, even though it definitely was bigger than most as it seemed to be around ten feet talll. Knowing this behavior was enough for Serian. Just looking at this creature and he could tell that it was barely holding itself in check. “hhhhhmmm. Oooh. I am going to kill you quickly, yes!” Ignoring Snow, the hollow quickly leaps ten feet towards Serian, causing a breeze to brush the pale white cornrows out of Serian’s eyes as they start to glow a pale blue. “Abbadon, show me the way of your passage…” Winter cold winds blew around Serian as the Hollow quickly closed the distance. Hints and shadows writhed around him just as the Devilish hollow thrust out his hand to rip out his throat.
As the winds tore at Serian’s clothes, he quickly shot forth his own hand, throwing out the icicle-esque point that had been solidifying in his palm. As the icicle hit the middle of the devilish mask, a burst ice one foot in length erupted from the point of impact. With an extra inch of the burst imbedded in the bone mask, the hollow stopped in its tracks with its hand literally a foot away from Serian’s throat. Without a sound the mask disintegrated, and fell away as the body followed suit. Banishing the ice chains, and his fullbring manifestation, before they could fully solidify, Serian twisted his upper body to look into the forest as he contemplated the night while it returned to its balanced state.
Just as Serian was thinking to return home however, Snow flies into the surrounding under brush. Letting out a sigh, Serian quickly follows the incessant barking as it wove it’s way through the trees. Before he knew it he entered another clearing to find a lone man sitting on one of the park benches. He barely registered this when he notice the squirrel sitting on the man’s shoulder, and Snow pacing before the man himself. A chuckle escapes Serian as he lopes up next to Snow, who could not seem to stop barking at the squirrel. The inner complexities of dogs surprised him as he contemplated the currently silent man before him.
