Koharu had been sent to the World of the Living on a mission, it wasn't anything she couldn't handle, but she still had the option of taking someone along with her. So she brought along the Hisagi twins, Kazue and Shuichi, as she always did whenever she went on missions. The two had been play bickering ever since the two landed, Shuichi picking on Kazue's boyfriend and her defending him. It made Koharu feel a little left out of the discussion, and hearing Kazue talk about Shin made her realize how lonely she felt despite having friends.
It wasn't long till a hollow swarm began sending all of their Soul Pagers into overdrive, snapping the young Kuchiki from her thoughts. They were all small fry but they could be overwhelming in large groups, the problem was the swarm had split up into different groups, meaning the trio had to as well. Kazue and Shuichi each headed their own seperate way, one off towards the river and the other off towards the forest. Koharu headed downtown, where the largest group of hollows was.
She did well at first, not even having to release her shikai for the better portion of the battle, but then something unexpected happened. A blast of fire came out of no where, taking out all the remaining hollow in one shot, at first she thought it was an ally till she felt the stark difference in their reiatsu. It wasn't a hollow nor an Arrancar, but something she had never encountered before; a Togabito.
Instantly Koharu released her shikai and charged in after what she instinctively knew was an enemy, they were almost even for the most part, untill the Togabito stabbed her directly in the shoulder, making her cry out in pain. Unfortunately that was enough time to do the same to the opposite shoulder, causing her to drop both of her swords on the ground below. The Togabito took advantage of Koharu's shock and grabbed her by the neck, pinning her against a wall. It was charging some sort of attack in the palm of it's hand, getting ready to finish her off then and there.
((Note: Togabito is an NPC, auto hit and control it as you please))

| Christian watched the small boy walk away, still sniffling although now he was smiling, his balloon clutched safely in his little hands. A few minutes ago, the boy was crying as his balloon had escaped his grasp and ended up caught by a branch. Christian had done a very unhollow like thing and given the balloon back to the child, who was young enough to see him and so he smiled at Chris before walking away, pulling his hollow-mask over his head like a base-ball cap, which caused his spiritual pressure to completely conceal itself. Christian tilted his head slightly, watching the boy go, a wistful expression on his face. He missed being human... As a hollow, this was as close to human he was going to get. Atleast he didn't have an insatiable hunger anymore. Closing his eyes for a few moments, he opened them again before beginning to walk in a random direction. Actually, not so random, as his body subconsciously led him towards where he sensed alot of spiritual energy.
When he turned a corner, he came into view of the battle. His eyebrow raised as his dark blue eyes perused the sight infront of him. He watched the young woman strike down the hollows here and there and he had to admit, she had skill. She appeared almost at ease, although he could tell that it was not the case. And then the togabito made it's appearance. Christian watched as the togabito attacked the young woman, silently wanting the latter to win. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the Togabito cornered the woman and got her in a precarious position.
Was he still human enough to feel chivalry? It seemed that he was. Without a second thought, he appeared beside the togabito, his hand already closing down upon the wrist that was holding the woman's neck. He twisted his wrist, applying pressure suddenly as he snapped the togabito's wrist bones, forcing it to release the woman. His pull of the wrist also caused the Togabito to turn towards him. The thing that the Togabito was charging appeared to be a ball of light, similar to a Cero. The togabito roared at him in pain and fired the Cero at his face, but Christian had already known it was going to fire and so was able to quickly lean out of the way, the wind caused by the beam ruffling his long hair.
"Attacking a woman knowing she's weaker than you... Has chivalry truly died out in your world?" He asked in a cold tone, his other hand flexing. Only a moment's warning was given, causing the Togabito to widen it's eyes, before Christian drove his free hand up, piercing his claws into the Togabito's skull from below. The victim spasmed, twitching horribly for a few moments as blood gurgled in it's throat before it went limp. Christian stared coldly at it for a second or two before flinging it away, leaving his arm all bloodied halfway down his forearm. "Rest in peace." He said, closing his eyes as he turned back around to face the woman, his eyes opening when he was facing her. Even though his hollow hole was hidden under his white coat with no number visible on his form, his reiatsu completely blank, it was obvious that he was an arrancar. His mask fragment and unnatural strength said so.
His claws turning back into regular fingernails, he raised a hand towards the female shinigami, offering her his non-bloody hand to help her get up. He then realized what a stupid move this was, since her shoulders were both stabbed. Sighing, he closed his eyes again, withdrawing his hand. He got down on one knee to be closer to her level, his dark blue eyes studying her in a gentle but non-vulnerable way as he asked, "Can you move your arms, Onna?"

Koharu had thought she was done for, that she was going to die right then and there. Thinking about her friends, the things she still had left to do, the things she’d yet to experience…Her eyes had pinched shut as her mind raced, trying to figure out a way out of her situation but using kido was beyond her capabilities now that her arms wouldn’t move, well, at least without excruciating pain. She had been waiting, expecting to feel, well, something by now but she hadn’t. Instead she opened her eyes to find that the threat had been removed from her quite literally, and then subsequently dealt with before she even had time to fully catch her breath. She stared in shock at the site before her, the beast that had been about to kill her moments before was brutally disposed of, so easily too, who was this man and what reason did he have to do that?
When he got closer she tried to back away but had forgotten about the wall until she was met with resistance and felt the brick scrape across her back, she had thought he was going to finish the job the Togabito didn’t, but when he instead asked if she could move her arms she was taken aback by the concern. Now she was really confused, why did this man, who clearly looked like an Arrancar, want to help a Shinigami? Shouldn’t he have wanted her dead? She had been worrying about how she was going to defeat this person who was, by all definition, an enemy to the Soul Society, yet instead she was finding herself wondering why he hadn’t attacked her yet.
Narrowing her eyes at him, staring at him with a gaze that was both curious and untrusting, her silver violet eyes gleamed with a fire as if saying she shouldn’t be taken lightly. She looked at her zanpakuto which was in its sealed state now, she cursed mentally. Had it been in its Shikai she could have used her petal blades, but apparently she was in too much pain to prevent it from falling back to its sealed state. She tried moving her arms, they could move but not without pain. She winced as she attempted to move them, eventually bearing the pain and forcing her arms to move, using them to push off the wall and stand in a defensive stance. However, the entire time she moved her arms, and even more so when she put her weight on them, her eyes had showed her strain and pain as she struggled.
”Clearly I can.” Koharu answered coldly, trying to sound intimidating. Sadly though, the pain from her wounds came through in her voice. She kept glancing between him and her zanpakuto before finally resting her gaze firmly on him, she still had things she needed to say, or rather, questions she wanted answered.”What is your reason for saving me? Or rather, being in the human world at all?” She wasn’t even trying to hide the pain anymore, she couldn’t. Her arms dropped from their defensive position in front of her to her sides, hanging there loosely. Yet despite she still held her firm expression, she wasn’t about to trust him just yet and that much was obvious. He would have to make a pretty convincing argument for her to even look at him in a nonthreatening way.

| He gazed at her impassively, with an eyebrow raised as she obviously struggled to get onto her feet. She was in agony, it was obvious, but he admired her independence and refusal to show weakness nonetheless. His eyes stayed on her silver ones, his pupil thinning from a perfect circle to a slightly pointed oval for a moment or so before returning to normal. He was using his pesquia to study her reiatsu and strength level. He pondered on her question for a few seconds, blinking once at a slow pace.
"Curiousity. I was curious to see how the human race had changed and developed over the years. And I saved you because." He paused, walking over to where her zanpakutou lay. Taking it in his hands, holding the blade, he turned around to face her again, offering her the handle of the sword while his eyes looked at her with surprising intensity. "Because It wasn't right. I'm not the type of person who'd let a warrior die to a beast like that without stepping in to help, regardless of who that warrior is. A warrior should die standing up, in battle... Not incapacitated like that."
He tilted his head slightly, his eyes studying the wounds on her shoulders before he withdrew his hand, which still held her zanpakutou. He walked closer to her, saying, "Stand still, Onna." before he shifted his grip, holding the handle, and then slid the zanpakutou back into it's sheath on her waist. He could feel the close proximity to her, although he didn't touch her. He could smell her scent, which oddly smelled of cherry blossoms and lotuses, and he could hear her heartbeat... A pang of wistfulness lanced through him at her having a heart, whereas he had a huge hole in his chest. He then stepped back, looking at her with that same poker face he always had, not really doing anything else except simply looking at her, the long ends of his powderblue hair moving in the wind. Then, he said, "You are the first of your kind that I've met in person."
His gaze regarded her in an inquisitive way, his head tilting slightly in the other direction now. "My name is Christian. And no, I'm not an Espada nor do I have any interest in this war." He said, a small smile coming onto his face as he offered her his hand.
He then realized that that, too, was a stupid move and he instantly changed the motion to make it look like he was reaching up to fix his collar to begin with, although it was obvious he had offered her his hand to shake. It was actually sort of silly, how he had made that move without much expression, other than his eyes widening slightly to show surprise at his mistake when he spotted it. He was probably the first arrancar to ever make silly moves, and that too infront of a young lady...
"Your wounds are bleeding pretty heavily." He said, taking note of her wounds. Looking around, but not finding anything, he pulled his coat off, revealing his muscular form. His muscles rippled slightly as he tore the sleeves off of the coat without much effort, Putting the now sleeveless coat back on as he offered her his sleeves. "Use these as bandages. From what I know of you Soul Reapers, you need to use your zanpakutou as a key to open a gate into the Soul Society. In your condition, I wouldn't advice holding your sword up and twisting it." He said, looking around. He studied the building nearby, looking into it for living beings. The 4th floor of the apartment building seemed to be empty of anyone living. He turned back around to face her, as he realized that she wouldn't be able to tie her shoulders up either. He pulled his hand back a bit, the one holding the sleeves/makeshift bandages.
"Crap, sorry, I momentarily forgot. I guess you'll need a hand with th-" He stopped himself, mentally facepalming himself at his choice of words. He glanced at her wounds, worried that they were worse than they appeared. He then looked back over to the building before saying, "The 4th floor of that building is empty. We can go there to tend to your wounds. It's your choice, really, since you'll probably soon collapse from the pain and bloodloss. You're still standing because of your adrenaline rush." He said, looking back at her with those cold blue eyes of his that seemed sincere towards her pain, as if he had no intention of hurting her. He didn't have any intentions like that, ofcourse. If he did, he could've done it to her right then.

Koharu became uncomfortable when he began studying her, like she was a caged animal on display for such purpose, it made her uneasy. However there was a brief moment where there eyes met, and what she found there was nothing malice, maybe this Arrancar wasn’t one of the bad guys after all. She watched as he slid her zanpakuto back into place, no enemy she knew would return her weapon to her; that only furthered her growing belief that he was not here for harm. Then she listened as he introduced himself and explained his reasons for both being in the human world and saving her, she had thought all Arrancar were interested in the war, or, at least fighting in general.
”Koharu Kuchiki…And I owe you thanks for helping me out…” She introduced in return, her eyes were on him out of caution and intrigue, maybe more curious than she would have liked to admit. When he stated the obvious about her wounds she only narrowed her eyes, she knew how badly they were bleeding; it was her body after all. However she wasn’t prepared for what happened next. Since she had been keeping her eye on him she got to watch as he took off his coat, and she was like a deer caught in the head lights. Eyes wide, unblinking as time seemed to slow down, and she could swear she felt her face heat up in a blush. What was going on?
She was able to pull herself from her stupor once he put his coat back on, just in time to hear him speak once more. He was right; if she didn’t get her wounds to stop bleeding soon she was going to have issues. She sighed, reasoning that if he wanted to do any kind of harm, then he surely would have done it by now. She decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, though; her guard would still be on high. She looked over in the direction of the apartment then back to him with a nod, she really did need to get these wounds taken care of.
”Alright, fine…” Koharu replied, she stood straight and attempted to walk toward the building, however after her third step her legs began to wobble and she began losing her balance. Maybe her wounds were bleeding worse than she had originally thought, because right now it seemed like she could barely walk forward a couple of steps without falling on her face.

| He tilted his head slightly when she introduced herself, testing the name out in his mind. He simply thought it was a very nice name, although he had never heard of the Kuchiki family. "That's a pretty name. Koharu." He said, testing it out, his blue eyes gazing into her violet ones. He found himself staring into her eyes, just lost in the violet swirls. They seemed so cold and delicate at the same time.... Like a poisonous flower.... His face showed no indication of his mesmerization as he broke out of it, blinking a few times to clear his mind and put it back into the problem at hand. Pun not intended.
He really didn't notice her blush nor her reaction to him, as he closed his coat back up once he withdrew his hand, the one offering her his sleeves. He kept his cold, unblinking gaze on her as she spoke her assent of the idea and then tried to walk. He was already behind her once she had begun losing her balance, allowing her small form to fall into his chest so he was looking down her. He put both of his hands on her shoulders gently to steady her, saying, "Easy there, Koharu. Your injury is probably worse than either of us thought." He said, the close proximity of their forms allowing him to smell her scent again, albeit through several thick layers of the metallic scent of blood.
He weighed his options on how he could get her there. Taking her onto his back would be disastrous, as she wouldn't be able to hold on. Taking her over his shoulder would be bad too, as it'd make her feel like she was being kidnapped. That only left the bridal-carry. He moved down and then up in one fluid, smooth motion, scooping her up in his arms, his left arm under her back, just below the shoulders, and his right arm under her knees, holding her in place.
"Hold on." He said, as he used Sonido to instantly travel to the 4th floor, reappearing infront of the small balcony of the apartment. He landed lightly on the parapet of the balcony before landing in the balcony itself. He raised one of his feet up so he could rest her weight on his thigh/knee, freeing his right hand just enough for him to reach and grab the doorknob of the balcony door. Since it was the 4th floor, no one would really be afraid of someone climbing this high to the balcony to enter the house, so it wasn't locked, luckily for them. He opened it and stepped inside, closing the door with his foot once inside.
The apartment flat was completely furnished, although it was obvious that whoever lived here wasn't here for some time. Probably on vacation or something. Never the less, it was designed like a traditional japanese home as Christian walked over to the bedroom, which was revealed to have a futon ontop of a tatami, with a shoji panel on either side. He turned on the lights, the room smelling of lavender incense, as he walked over into the room and depositted her onto the bed.
"I need you to take off your clothes." He said, his face completely impassive. He then realized that the question might have come off wrong. He was used to caring for his pack mates, nude or not, but he knew how decency was still a core part in humans and shinigami. A small blush crept up into his cheeks, something that was very foreign for him, as he said, "Uh... I mean, you need to bare your shoulders. Otherwise, I can't work on them." He said, standing up.
"I'll be right back." He said, walking into the bathroom that was situated just outside the bedroom. He knew how undressing infront of someone was more embarrassing than already being undressed, so he'd allow her to lessen her embarrassment. Also so he didn't blush too much either. As he walked over to the sink to wet his sleeves and to clean his bloody hand, he noticed the mirror being larger than it was. Curious, he pulled the knob that was situated in the side of the mirror, revealing a cabinet full of medical supplies. He made a disappointed look, as he had torn his sleeves off for no reason then. Pulling his torn sleeves back onto his arms, he aligned them to his coat's shoulders and used his reiatsu to solidify and join the sleeves, repairing his coat.
Satisfied, he walked back to the room with the supplies, expecting his heart to be pounding in anticipation although he only heard silence, much to his sadness. He did, however, hearing the pounding of Koharu's heart. He opened the bedroom door and stepped in, prepared for anything he might be seeing.

When Chris scooped her up in his arms she felt her heart flutter, perhaps it was just being so close to him, maybe it was the fact that by the Soul Society’s standards he was technically an enemy. She had allowed him so much trust, having given him the benefit of the doubt, but perhaps her fluttering heart was just her being nervous about allowing an Arrancar to carry her like this. Moreover, letting a man carry her like this, that was new to Koharu, being so close to a man…Had she dated before? Yes, she had been on the occasional date, but they were usually all arranged by her Clan and never went past the first date anyway. Why couldn’t she pick someone herself?
A sheepish look on her face, yet she tried to hide it behind a cold expression though it was failing, the blush being the main thing that gave her away. She instinctively curled into his form as he held her, bracing herself for the sonido she knew was coming, she even gripped onto his coat as her hand rested lightly against his chest to keep a hold on and make sure she stayed steady in his grip. She found herself strangely relaxing against his warmth, allowing her eyes to fall closed as the exhaustion from blood loss started to take her over. She didn’t have much time to rest though, since as soon as she finally began drifting off she heard a door open and shut. It was for the better that she didn’t fall asleep; who knows what could have happened.
She came completely back to her senses when she felt herself being deposited onto the bed, luckily for her she had been placed in an upright position. She glanced around the simply furnished room; it reminded her of home, of her room. When she heard him tell her to take her close off the blush on her face was furious, as was her over all expression, and she had been about to say something before he corrected himself. Well, at least he had the sense to do that much, even if he slipped up there at first. There was just one problem thought….If she couldn’t even hold her weapon, how was she supposed to bare her shoulders to him?
She was going to tell him, but he left the room too fast before she could even manage. With a sigh, she sat there for a moment in silence. Then, ignoring the pain, she tried to pull her top off of her shoulders. Soft grunts could be heard as she attempted to pull her left sleeve down first, moving slowly so that she didn’t irritate her wounds. She managed only baring them a little before she had to give up, there was no way she was going to be able to do this…And, the only other option was….Well, that would be awkward wouldn’t it? How was she supposed to tell him anyway? A loud, frustrated sigh could be heard through the door. She sensed him outside; as if he was waiting, shaking her head to herself she spoke.
”I couldn’t do it….”

| He could hear her small sounds of struggle as she tried to take her top off. But when she admitted that she could not do it, he sighed. He wanted to offer his this much of a dignity, but atleast she had the intelligence to admit her inability than to hurt herself further. He came into the room, holding the medical supplies he got from the cabinet in his hands. He put them down beside the bed; A few rolls of bandage, a bottle of rubbing alcohol, a stitching set, some small pieces of clean rags and some painkillers. He also put his zanpakutou off the side and sat down on his knees next to her, in the traditional japanese way although he was wearing pants instead of a hakama.
He looked at her in a neutral way, which was very different from the apprehension he was feeling as he then said, "Alright, I'll do it then." Raising his hands at a smooth pace, he pulled her shihakusho gently apart, baring both of her shoulders. His face remained impassive, though he could feel the heat rushing up to his face. Unlike his wolf pack members, this person wasn't someone he knew intimately. This wasn't someone like him. She had a beating heart, a warmth of life in her skin. And he had to admit, she was attractive. His fingertips brushed her smooth skin, sending jolts of electricity up his arm. His lips parted in slight surprise at the feeling but he soon regained his composure and continued. He forced himself not to look where he didn't need to look, his eyes never straying.
Having bared her shoulders, he could see the deep wound. It was bad. He offered her a painkiller pill and a clean rag to bite onto before he completely doused two other pieces of rag with the rubbing alcohol, pausing before he put it on her wound. "Try not to scream." He said, before he pushed both of the rags into her wounds. He firmly gripped it down onto her shoulders, no matter what her reaction was, his strong hands keeping the rags on the wound with some additional pressure. The rags had already begun to become crimson where it was touching her. Gently, but firmly, he began to move the rag around the wound, the movements very small and slow. After he deemed it sufficiently cleaned up, He threw the bloody rags into the corner of the room, where it landed with a sick, wet sound. Putting more alcohol on another rag, he then used it to gently clean the remaining blood off her skin in quick, firm movements, being quick since the blood was still slowly seeping out of her wounds.
He then put it down, going closer to her. He gently pulled her onto his lap, so she was half lying ontop of his lap. He then opened the sewing set, readying it and then bearing down at her with it.
The next 10 minutes were painfully slow, as Christian found himself holding back cringes, as if he felt her pain as he stitched her wounds shut. He wasn't sure if she had passed out from the pain or not, but by the time he was done, his fingers and hands were stained red. Taking another clean rag doused with alcohol, he cleaned her wounds completely now, baring her pale white skin. Her scent was more overpowering than ever now, flowery and crisp, giving him an image of royalty. She was definitely nobility. It was easily evident in the way she moved, the way she talked, even the way she smelled and looked.
Sighing, his muscles slightly sore from being so careful and delicate, he leaned back so he was sitting straight up again. He allowed her to rest on his lap for a while longer before he gently helped her back onto the bed, being as careful as if she was priceless porcelain. It was dark outside, as he looked out of the windows, through the blinds. He stood up, taking the bloody rags away from the room. He dumped them into the garbage bin in the kitchen area, taking a lighter from the drawer. Walking back into the room, he walked over to the small dresser that was in the room.
He could easily smell it, as he pulled open the drawers until he found what he was looking for. A few sticks of lavender incense. He put them into the small holder which he found in the same drawer, walking over and putting them next to Koharu. He lit them, and then took a step back before sitting down, leaning against the shoji panel, his legs crossed over one another, his zanpakutou resting with it's sheathed tip infront of him, the handle going past his right shoulder. "Rest... I'll watch over you." He said in a low and gentle voice, incase she had already fallen asleep. The lavender provided a soothing smell, as lavender was a natural medicine for soothing the mind. With that, he closed his eyes, which were slightly luminous in the dark, like the eyes of a wolf, and he stayed still like that throughout. He looked like he was meditating, but he was just resting while his senses stayed on high alert.

Koharu didn’t like the thought of having him take care of baring her shoulders, but it was far better than making her situation far worse than what it currently was. At least he was being a gentleman about it, only focusing on where he needed to, she was thankful for that. Still though, she felt her cheeks heat as he pulled the fabric apart, and that heat only intensified when his fingers brushed along her bare skin. She glanced over at him in time to see him offer the pain killer pill and the rag, she took both and nodded. Swallowing the pill dry then biting on the rag, she prepared herself for what was about to happen.
When he began cleaning her wounds she bit firmly on the rag and gripped her hakama tight in her hands, eyes pinched shut as she rode through the searing pain she was feeling right now. When he finished cleaning her wounds she breathed easer, taking the moment he was getting the supplies ready to stitch her wounds as time to rest from what had just happened. The pain faded, well, at least the pain from him cleaning the wounds had, and she basked in the short lived relief. When he pulled her into his lap she knew it wasn’t far off.
For the next ten minutes Koharu’s teeth bit hard on the rag, her hands gripping now at his hakama rather than her own, her hands haven fallen there once he moved her. After about three minutes she was already in tears and whimpering softly, though she did her best not to scream, every so often a loud sob would slip past her gritted teeth. Five minutes in and she was starting to fade out but she forced herself to stay awake and seven minutes in she had become numb to the pain altogether, easily managing to ride out the rest of the time it took him.
She made no attempt to move when he finished, in fact, she stayed there on his lap with a loose grip on his hakama and allowed her eyes to flutter closed briefly. His warmth was nice, maybe even comforting, certainly it was more than she got currently, though it wasn’t his fault; her father was a busy man who seemed awkward when it came to that sort of aspect of parenting.
She took deep breaths and allowed herself to relax against him; finally her body was done being tormented. She was sore but by the time everything was done and over with the pain killer had kicked in and taken away most of the pain, when he let her off her lap she took the rag from her mouth and set it on the bed side table before falling back flat against the bed, her body was exhausted.
Looking out at the darkness through the blinds she wondered how her friends were doing and if they were looking for her, hoping they were alright. When he left the room she sent Kazue a quick message, letting her know that she was alright and that they should meet up first thing in the morning, then she set her phone on the bed side and stared up at the ceiling. What was going to happen now? How exactly was she going to explain what had happened on her reports? She tried to figure it out, but her mind simply was not in working order right now.
When she heard him enter the room again she turned her head to face him, watching him as he settled in front of the door. She was becoming more curious about him by the second, was it possible that there were Arrancar out there who weren’t an enemy? Who actually wanted to help or simply just weren’t interested either way? Perhaps it was possible, just like there were Shinigami who were enemies. Perhaps she should give him a chance.
”Thank you…For patching my wounds…So um…Did you mean it when you said you had no interest in the war?”

| Christian's eyes opened again, luminous blue eyes fixing onto Koharu's silverish violet eyes as he carefully thought of his answer. "War between our races is inevitable... We are like cats and dogs, it is built into our instincts. But as for me, I won't attack someone just because my instincts tell me to." He said, looking outside through the blinds. "Unless a person has wronged my personally, I don't see any reason to attack him or her." He added, one hand going to the hole in his chest. "Once a hollow gains sentience and reprieve from the eternal hunger as an arrancar, we are able to feel what we used to feel as a human. Though I have no heart, I still feel longing. I feel love, I feel hate. I feel remorse and regret that I turned out this way. And I can still see beauty and be mesmerized by it." He said, gazing at Koharu with a very intense gaze, his pupils becoming smaller as they stayed focused on her eyes.
Realizing that he was staring at her too long, he closed his eyes and lowered his face, the shadows hiding the small reddish tinge that came on his face. He always wore a poker face, but small emotions tended to come out now and then. His hands dropped back to his lap, his light hair hiding his face from view as he silently sat there, staying alert and ready to respond to any threat that might arise, and yet again, his eyes rose to look at Koharu.
He couldn't help but admire her looks. Her skin that looked as smooth as satin... The way her neck curved... The way her collar bones stood out from her skin... The way her jawline looked as she lied... The way her chest rose and fell gently with each breath. Christian tore his gaze away, confused as to why he was focusing on her with such intensity. Maybe because she was the first person he was interacting with who wasn't an arrancar?
He was curious. He could hear her heartbeat slowing as she slowly fell asleep, but he was curious about her heart. It'd had been so long since he'd heard a heart. It made him wistful and curious, wanting to feel it. Like someone who had found a treat he had once loved in his childhood, Christian waited for Koharu to fall asleep. When she did, he silently moved closer to her on the ground. Her futon was only a 5 inches in height, so he was looking down at her as he kneeled next to her. Her scent was overpowering, smelling of a sweet fragrance.
Gently, as if he might break her, he extended his right hand. His forefinger and middle finger were extended together, as he delicately put them near her stomach, at the bottom center-apex of her ribcage. His eyes grew slightly bigger in wonder as he felt each beat of the heart better than ever. It was like a song, a song that captivated him with it's rhythm. He stayed like that for some time, just listening to her heartbeating it's steady rhythm, feeling the beats travelling through her body, into his fingers and up his arm, into all of his body. It made him feel like he had a heartbeat again...
Withdrawing his hand and standing up again, he walked back to his position, taking his zanpakutou in his left hand. He then went to stand over infront of the window, parting the blinds just a bit to allow moonlight to stream in unblocked, although it didn't hit Koharu. He would stay there until morning, or if something happened, his blue eyes gazing outwards, the silver shine of the moon turning his hair into a white, flaming halo of white light.

Koharu couldn’t help but smile at his answer; however she kept fighting herself to stay awake as he spoke because she didn’t want to seem rude. When he was finished speaking she couldn’t help herself any longer and allowed her eyes to flutter closed, falling asleep almost instantaneously. She had been denying her body the right to rest ever since she became wounded but now it was too much, she had to give in or risk complicating her situation beyond her wounds. She was nervous about sleeping with someone she barely knew around, much less an Arrancar MALE, but in the end she was too tired to care and fell into a deep slumber; though, Koharu always had been a light sleeper…
She rested comfortably for about fifteen, twenty minutes. Though her sleep was deep, she was always one to wake easily, she could rest peacefully for a whole night in the deepest slumber any person could imagine, but if a leaf tapped on her window she would instantly wake up. She’s not sure where it came from, if she inherited it or if it was trained into her somehow, but it was always a problem for her as often times she would be unable to return to sleep after haven woken. So when she felt him touch her heart, she couldn’t help but wake up from her sleep. She jumped a little, which pulled at her wounds and made her wince, but she was too groggy beyond that to do anything at the moment.
Her eyes followed him to the window and carefully she sat up, trying her best not to use her arms too much, her back now resting against the head board. Why did he just touch her? Was he getting ready to attack? Or was he getting ready to do…Something else…It startled Koharu to say the least, but she figured it was nothing malice when she watched him walk away and stare out the window; or at least that’s what she was trying to convince herself to believe.
”Um…Why did you do that?” Koharu asked sleepily, referring to him touching her like that. If she didn’t get some kind of answer, hell if she didn’t ask the question at all, it was going to drive her nuts. He had gone through the trouble of helping her, so rather than jump to a conclusion that her training had drilled into her, she figured it was best to simply just ask why rather than assume his reasons.

As Christian turned around to face Koharu, he saw that she was sitting up. Time seemed to stop at that moment as the scene was so perfect. He looked at Koharu and she looked at him, while he admired her appearance. The silver light was hitting him from behind, so she was cast into shadows. But the light refracting off of his hair was also illuminating her juuuust slightly, unnoticeable by most people. The way her silky hair fell down her back in waves, the way her eyes shimmered in the dull light. The palour of her skin couldn't hide the gentle warmth underneath her skin. He was sure she had a delicate natural skin color when she wasn't pale with bloodloss. Her Shihakusho was still off at the shoulders, baring her bandaged top. But she had a slender and toned stomach and her strong heart was beating valiantly, loud enough for his sensitive ears to pick up. It was curious how hearts beat faster and harder when they had to fight to survive. His eyes, instead of looking at more appealing things, went from her face to her amulet, where it lingered with mild interest and inquisitiveness.
"For remembrance." He said in a sombre voice, giving the hint of a small smile, albeit a sad, wistful one. "I simply wished to feel what a natural heartbeat was like again." He said, turning to look back outside the window, at the streets that were empty. Staring at her too long was making his primitive lupine instincts to rear it's head. He had the nagging urge to prove his dominance to her, to show her that he was the Alpha. That, however, was a silly thing in a civilized world. There were much better ways to show off the fact of being an Alpha than to force a half-bled-out girl into submission and howl. With that, he went back to watching the world turn, staring at the indigo sky and the full moon. "I suggest you get a good night's rest. You'll need your strength to open a gate back to your world tomorrow." He said in a low voice, his dark blue eyes glistening as it reflected the moonlight, different shades of sapphire and azure catching the light like crystal.
