This arena has two flat surfaces floating together in space spread. There is a white tiled surface on the bottom with a black tiled surface floating about twenty yards above it seeming to serve no other purpose than a ceiling. Every five posts though the gravity in this arena will flip and the black surface will then become the floor, pulling the fighters to it without warning and then what was once up is now down. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][cs=2] I only need myself to survive... Ichigo Lazuli | [atrb=style, width: 100px; padding-top: 10px;][atrb=valign,top] SQUAD ELEVEN CAPTAIN | [atrb=style, padding-top: 2px] Ichigo stood stoically on the while tiles, unfamiliar with the battleground she was on. She mused that maybe it was so that her and her opponent would be on equal terms, which made Jigoku grin within the girl's head. "Maybe we'll meet a fun opponent this time... You know nothing of this girl... You can feel it, can't you? Your body aches to listen to her screams as you dismember her..." The dark cackling of the woman's inner hollow rattled through her head as Ichigo untied her Captain's haori.
Ichigo crossed her arms and closed her eyes, not vocally responding to her. However, her thoughts did. "I don't need to kill her. I only need to incapacitate, or force her to yield. I certainly wont be tearing her apart..." The woman stood strong and looked about, nothing else visible save for the two platforms. With quick movements and decisive blows, the match would be over quickly. However, before she could decide what exactly a 'decisive blow' entailed, she needed to actually see her opponent. Judging from the ceiling, she had roughly 60 feet of leeway, which meant as long as her legs went uninjured, she could jump quickly between the ground and the ceiling quickly enough to be accurate. For an added bonus, there seemed to be no end to the platforms, meaning if need be, she could retreat far enough away to make a different tactical decision, provided she was faster than her opponent.
A soft sigh escaped her lips. Maybe she was really over-thinking this. Maybe she should just let her guard down and have fun once in a while, instead of ruthlessly analyzing every point in the battle. True, easier said than done, but maybe if she actually enjoyed her battle, she'd do well enough, anyways...

Ai slowly began to wonder this strange place of war. She was unaware of who was there to fight with her, not that it much mattered to her. There were platforms ahead with around 60 feet of leeway. A perfect setting for her abilities and speed.
Something she very much relied on was her high speed movements and her strong hand to hand combat skills. If needed her long distance tactics could come into play as well as her sound abilities if the speeds were close in matching and she needed a bit of an upper hand. Yes, Ai felt as ready as she could be for the task at hand.
Her large crimson eyes scaled across the way to see a woman at the other end of the platforms. Enma assumed this would be her opponent. The woman had long black hair pulled into a ponytail and seemed slightly at ease. Ai in fact could swear she heard a sigh from the woman across the way. She herself stood with her feet at shoulder length apart, eyes gaping open, perfect posture with her hands at her sides.
Ai quietly kept her eyes on her rival in battle. She was as still as a doll sitting, collecting dust in a shop. As always she seemed almost dead in her mannerisms. her weapon was at the ready, in clear open sight and yet hidden from the eye.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][cs=2] I only need myself to survive... Ichigo Lazuli | [atrb=style, width: 100px; padding-top: 10px;][atrb=valign,top] SQUAD ELEVEN CAPTAIN | [atrb=style, padding-top: 2px] Ichigo locks her eyes onto her opponent, whispering her call out phrase as if she didn't want to give it away. However, with the woman's slight rise in spiritual pressure, along with the black smoke forming elbow-length gloves on her arms. "Kyomu..." She coughed twice, sighing softly. "Still the same... I see..."
She pointed her finger to Ai to accentuate that she was indeed regarding her. "You have thirty minutes before the smoke chokes us both out. After then, there will be too much of the smoke in the air to breathe at all. You can nullify it by forcing me to use Bankai or breaking my Shikai." She paused for a second, lowering her hand and nodding. "In case you were wondering... I'm telling you this because it would be unfair to you to hide it from you. It's my own fault it happens, anyways..." She sighs softly and looks to Ai with a much softer glance, drawing her trench knives around her gloved hands. Cracking her knuckles softly, she raises her heels, bends her knees, and lowers her stance, clenching her fists tightly. "Since I was first to arrive, I'll take initiative..."
She leans further to the ground slowly and mutters lowly. "Let's begin..." Then she would sprint forward, using Shunpo to close the distance. Given the girl's defensive stance that was horrible to start a good run from, she was expecting her to block. Of course, she was going to give her something difficult to block. Stopping roughly ten feet in front of her crouched extremely low to the ground, she tears upwards with her trench blades, creating her Split Down the Middle technique. The black blade then rushed Ai quicker than Ichigo at full speed, threatening to tear into her if nothing was done, and to burn her if it was simple caught.

As her enemy raised a finger to her Ai raised an eyebrow slightly in question. She figured it might me an attack on its way, however it was a kind formal explanation of the strange smoke that was filling the area. Enma gave a short nod, as a sign of understanding and appreciation.
Enma watched as her enemy began to get into a battle ready stance. The foe's knuckles cracked and her footing was that of a preparation to launch an attack. In fact, moments later she said she would indeed be making her move, as she was the first to arrive, which is indeed proper battle edict, Ai had no disagreement.
In more of a mutter her enemy had mentioned the time to start the real fight. The woman began with a dead ahead sprint, really there isn't much else to begin a fight with. Clever shots were for when you were more into the fight. Ai quickly ran through options. The expected response would be a simple block, followed by some hand to hand action, which Enma was skilled in and wouldn't be an issue. However, from a high ranking enemy, Ai expected something more. The enemy scaled forward and seemed to be preparing for a sudden halt. Moving backwards would be too expected. Ai shot pressure from her feet into the ground, causing the rock to shatter below her as she launched into the air, shooting upward at a decent rate.
As Ai began to ascend the foe was crouching low to the ground, and swinging up her blade. Ai watched as a blade shot up, with a flow of reiatsu. Ai was now around 10 feet above and slightly to the right of Ichigo. The blade and its energy blasted forward across the landscape, missing Enma.
Enma herself had no intention of using her weapon yet. No, that was on hold for now, but she would have an attack in return. Ai shot down at her foe, at full shunpo speed, her left leg at first extended above her head, but now shooting down with high velocity to crash upon Ichigo's back, particularly aimed for the spinal cord. With the enemy in a crouch, much of her back was exposed, even with long hair there was low protection. One of her arms was just in use the thrust out her blade and her legs were locked under her to position herself in such a posture. If this hit landed, there would be nerve damage which would directly affect her motor coordination of the woman's body in any point lower than that of impact. Not to mention the pressure on her ankles would cause cracking or breaking.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][cs=2] I only need myself to survive... Ichigo Lazuli | [atrb=style, width: 100px; padding-top: 10px;][atrb=valign,top] SQUAD ELEVEN CAPTAIN | [atrb=style, padding-top: 2px] Ichigo, when she unleashed her attack, actually swung her entire body upwards. In fact, the whole point of crouching was to get more power in her jump to swing harder. So when Ai's attack came down at her, she was still on her way up. She aimed her fist at Ai and blocked the incoming leg with the metal knuckles of her trench blade, gasping in pain at the block. She... She was a lot stronger than she looked! Luckily, her own physical strength saved her arm from shattering, but it still did some damage. She could only hope the hit with the knuckles did something as well.
Using Shunpo, she gets roughly fifteen feet of distance between her and her opponent, shaking her hand. "That's a nasty hit you have..." She sighed and narrows her eyes. The woman and her were the same speed. She was nearly as physically strong as her. This could get ugly. They were effectively stalemated until one made a critical error. That meant her time limit in her Shikai could become a problem. Not soon, but she didn't have an incredible amount of time. She would flex her arms to tense them up and prepare herself, jumping in place, each jump getting higher than the last.

((Warning (1) to Ichigo: This fight is on a pause until Ichigo's post is modified to include the shit of gravity that would have taken place during her post as the arena description states.))

Because Ichigo has not modified her post in the 72 hour time frame, Ai wins by default. This thread will now be locked.
