Fucking traitor. He cut my arm off and got her killed. She was the only one I ever loved...I had to watch her be slain by the blasted sokyoku. Kiyameru stood in front of a mirror, his hands on a ledge as he breathed very heavily. He had just awoken from a night terror that reflected the past. The moment when his arm was severed was especially slow and caused him to suffer through psychologically-induced pain. He wiped his tears from his eyes, noticing they were blood-shot. His face of anger and despair revealed the one thing he hid most: regret. He did regret fighting Ezekiel, but always masked it by hate for him. He was the one who instigated the battle.
He was the one who threatened his only brother (figuratively). Kiyameru touched the stub that used to be a full-grown arm. He knew how much he deserved it, but he didn't admit it to even himself. He didn't want to realize his mistakes. He may have benefited from the bout, but he also lost two very dear things. First and of most importance, Hana. The second was his arm. He was a physical fighter, a warrior even. Not some noble like he was as a mortal. Nobles only suffered. No matter the unfathomable amount of material valuables, they always suffered. No, not as much as peasants, but definitely from their own mind. They always caused themselves to be put in a tight spot by the commonly dishonest mindset.
Kiyameru made his way to the recreational area of his quarters, throwing on his flame-styled kimono to cover his garments. He glanced around the room, the very room he and Hana used to spend time together in when they were not flooded with paperwork. Every memory of the night he and Ezekiel ferociously entered a bout he was reminded of the physical and psychological wounds dealt to him. His steps were slow, as if he was constantly going through revelations. It was like Apollo when Aphrodite cast her son upon him. He was given a love, though one that did love him back-the only exception to the allusion-but Ezekiel's action took it away. The blame should be split, because it takes a duo to dance dangerous. After exiting his quarters, he remembered how each window was covered by a opaque curtain, not allowing light to enter. This helped with his insomnia, but also made him forget the time of day without a clock. The morning was here, and he was ready to embrace it, unlike the memory of Hana's execution and how he was partially to blame. He stood at the balcony, eventually jumping down and walking into the 'road' of the Seireitei

Another day, another Captain, or so Rin hoped. Today she was going to visit the Captain of the tenth division, his name if she remembered right was Kiyameru Kurakunaru. Rin had made it her job after coming out of the confines of the Kido Corps to meet every Captain and Lieutenant at least that was the small goal, her biggest goal was to actually meet every member of the Gotei 13, but she wanted to start small before she worked her way up to lengths that big. It had been two years since that fateful day, when she became Captain of her division and learned her bankai. She had spent those last two years in more or less seclusion, honing her skills, learning all she possibly could, only rumors being spread about her as the last two years went by.
Now, she had slowly became more of a social butterfly, trying to meet all these... Captains and Lieutenants and so far most of these meetings had been a pleasant success. Her head was in the clouds at the current moment, and she was even looking up. Not even noticing that the Captain of the tenth division was approaching, the minute she looked down she came to an abrupt halt. Rin wore the traditional Captain's Robes, and she always had a book underneath her arm, and even another one tucked away in her robes. She always brought plenty to read, her defining features were the paleness of her skin, and well, the fact that she didn't have a head. The Captain was approaching quickly, so she decided to yell out to him. "Heyyyyy! Kiyameru Kurakunaru, Captain of the tenth division." She said, as she waved him down, running the last few meters to stop right in front of him. "Hello, Captain Kurakunaru, its a pleasure to finally meet you. My name is RIn Minatsuki, Captain of the Kido Corps." She gave him a polite bow, as she looked slightly up to him, since he was perhaps an inch taller than her.
Although she looked a lot smaller with out her head, and only a suggestively looked neck that disappeared into her Captain's robes, since when she wasn't drinking she dressed really modestly. Keeping her chest covered and her sash around her tight, and not even showing any skin along her legs. Only showing her neck, and the skin of her hands, it was just how she dressed, now, get a few drinks in her, and the skin just kept showing and showing. "Ah, my apologies Captain Kurakunaru, I hope I am not preventing you from where you need to go, if need be, we can walk and talk. She said, with a shrug of her shoulders, as she smiled, although he couldn't see it.

As the KCC approached Kiyameru, he had one of his unseated officers grab his zanpakuto, forgetting about it previously since he had just left a haze of revelations. He was so caught up with himself he couldn't notice the girl approaching, immediately anyways. Hana...Your the only flower that ever rested within my mind. The only one that started and ended fully and most beautifully bloomed.. His eyes showed an emptiness as well as the tired expression on his face. The unseated officer brought him his blade and he thanked him. Looking at the girl, he finally acknowledged her. Bowing in return, he immediately apologized.
"I am truly sorry for ignoring you. Ah, it is nice to meet you. It appears as if we are similar, though I am doubtful of it. I am missing an arm, and you a head." he may have seemed to be making a joke, but he showed no sign of a humorous reaction. One could assume he lacked such a capability, the one emotion that could cause anyone to smile. It wasn't that he didn't acquire such a quality, it was that the past decade it has been nullified temporarily due to lack of counseling.
Kiyameru's mind couldn't displace the events, most obviously seen by those who know what happened. He built up a very long relationship with his captain, overcome by a prodigy who was much younger than he. The boy was skilled, having a bankai while being much younger. The two were practically equals. But he needed to disband the thoughts for now so he could give more attention to the girl.

Rin watched as one of his unseated officers came running with his zanpaktou, which he must of mistakenly left back in his office. It was a good thing she always carried a book, since there was always time to read. Every opportunity that she had, she read, so her zanpaktou in its sealed form was a simple book mark tucked into what ever book she was currently reading. The Captain before her bowed in return and she stood still as he spoke. Giving a small nod, as she also gave a small chuckle to his funny comment. "It is good to see that both of us, even after losing so much, can still find jokes in these times." She said with a rather cheerful tone, as she then positioned herself beside him. "Please, Captain Kurakunaru, we can walk and talk if you need to walk to clear your mind. I understand that we all have problems, me included, and sometimes a walk is the best remedy." She said with a continuing polite tone, encouraging him to walk if he needed too.

One, two! Outside parry to inside smash. Three, four! Reverse grip, draw across torso. Five, six!. Standard grip to twisting scythe. Seven, eight! Inside parry, ready stance. One, two. Three, four. ,Five, six. Seven, eight. Parry, kick, reverse grip, cut, return grip, cut, parry, ready, repeat. It was a rhythm. A perfect symphony of stirke and defense. Move in and move out. Engage disengage. Attack defend. It was like a dance. A flowing circuit. Just as all energy returned to the source and flowed outward again so did combat. There was no time for thought or poor moves. There was only time to act and react. Your body told you want to do and nothing else existed. This was battle. So this is how Akane trained. She would face down her comrades in groups or singular. She would teach them what she could and they would keep her skills sharp. The cycle would go on. Hours had passed as she trained with her unseated officers. They needed much instruction and she was happy to give it. However, all things must come to an end. She was tired out and in need of a rest. Maybe a shower as well.
She was moving away from the training field, sword at her hip and a towel in her hand. She mopped her brow as she walked. She had a perpetual smile on her face as she thought back to the improvement that the young shinigami were showing. She could tell every time she sparred with them that they had learned. She knew she had wanted to teach people, teach them anything she could, now she had a chance. Her elation was cut down slightly as she caught sight of her ever-so-gloomy captain and the headless form of a shinigami. She remember seeing this woman before. She was the captain of the Kido corps. Something she never could effectively grasp. None the less, she deserved respect. Akane decided that now would be as good a time as any to go see her captain. After all, he might need some help dealing with such an odd companion. A headless spirit was certainly not the norm after all.
Akane walked over, still breathing somewhat heavily from her training session. She bowed deeply at the two superiors before she looked to them with her usual smile. "Hello Captain," she turned her gaze to the headless woman, "And Captain of the Kido Corps. It's a pleasure to meet you at last." Akane placed her hands together and bowed again, showing the Kido master great respect. "It's a fine day wouldn't you agree?" she asked with a breathless and cheerful tone. She averted her gaze from the place where the woman's head ought to be and looked at her Captain. "Hopefully I'm not interrupting you two? Perhaps I could join your company?" she chuckled. "After all, good company can make a trip go much faster." Her left hand reach subconsciously to her tunic to straighten it slightly. As she did that Akane tossed her towel over her shoulder with a casual trained grace that seemed to exude from nearly every action she took. Placing her hand behind her back in a very professional and proper posture. She waited for their response. She hoped she would be allowed to accompany them. Maybe she could set up a training session iwth either of them. She had much room to improve in the way of Kido and her captain could teach her a great many things. After all, if something were to happen to him it would be her job to take over the squad. The idea made her expression darken, if only slightly. The thought of something happening to him and her being placed in charge without being ready was horrifying.

Kiyameru decided to put up a false smile, but he had no heart in him left to allow him to show any sign of happiness, it was as if the ability had left his mind. The plasticity of his brain figuratively masked the ability to show humor. The dullness of his facial expression had not escaped permanently. He was like a man forever depressed by the fact he had lost something dear. But his sob story couldn't go on forever, no. Who wants to be within the aura of constant sadness and depression? At least he had his lieutenant, but he felt as if she had to act like it didn't annoy her. He nodded toward the Captain Rin, paralleling her pace in order to keep up with her so he could avoid moving too fast or slow.
He did want to clear his mind, doubting the possibility that he could, for it was a simple walk and he believed nothing could ever subdue the burden he held unless he killed Ezekiel. While the thought was nice, he would like the company of somebody partially close to him. This was remedied by the presence of his lieutenant, Akane Matsuyori. She approached them in a respectful manner, so he did not have to ridicule her as of now. He was happy his lieutenant could be with him, she was someone he respected due to her loyal and subordinate nature. He had always wanted to spar with her, to test her abilities, but now was not the time.
"Hello there, Matsuyori. A pleasure to see my loyal lieutenant. You may join us, might as well let my very own right hand walk with me. Importance would dampen had I not given such opportunities approval. he nodded towards his right hand, which he could consider his left since he is missing his left arm.

Rin had made a sudden stop along side Kurakunaru, as she spotted Akane Matsuyori, who was coincidentally Kurakunaru's Lieutenant. Watching as the Lieutenant as she bowed deeply to the both of them before she spoke. Giving a greeting to her Captain before she also gave a greeting to herself, telling her it was a pleasure to meet her. "It is also a pleasure to meet you also, Akane Matsuyori." She quickly replied before the Lieutenant continued to speak. The Lieutenant visibly sweating and out of breathe after what seemed to be an intense workout, although this division was known for its more physical aspects. Her eyes turning from the Lieutenant to Captain Kurakunaru, as she also greeted his Lieutenant and said he could join the two on their walk. They started to walk again, and Rin decided to speak up. "It's good to see that there is other females in the Gotei, it feels as if we are in low supply currently, or maybe it's just my imagination." She gave a polite chuckle as her hand had drawn to where her both should be.
"Captain Kurakunaru, and Lieutenant Matsuyori of the tenth division. It is a great, great pleasure to meet you both!" She exclaimed, as she continued to walk beside the two, and on the other side of the Captain they were walking with. "I have made it my personal goal to meet all the Captains, and Lieutenants of the Gotei 13. I am sure you are both aware of me being a recluse the last two years." Of course the both of them could remember what happened two years ago. The invasion, and the deaths of her Captain and Lieutenant, then the promotion of herself to the position of Captain. Being one of the youngest people to old the position, even younger than some of the Lieutenants. "I figured it was time to come out of the shadow of my previous Captain and Lieutenant and strive my own path in this division." She said, to both of the Captain and the Lieutenant, maybe even hinting at what ever problems seemed to be currently plaguing the Captain. "So, i decided I wanted to meet all of you, make friends, and hopefully make the Gotei 13 even better than it already is." She exclaimed, her body language suggesting she was in a cheerful mood.

Her captain was generous and correct. if such small requests like the ability to walk with two captains were denied then a gap between the higher ranks and those who served them would widen. As it was many captains did not really know their squads well. Until Akane had become a lieutenant she had mostly been overlooked by her captain. It wasn't as though she had really strived for his attention but now it seemed important. Not only that but Rin was also right. there seemed to be only a few female shingami that Akane could even recall. They needed to stick together. Now would be a good time to incur favor from her commanders but also, perhaps, make new friends.
As Rin layed her intentions out Akane nodded. It made perfect sense. No one had really seen her much before recently. It was actually a good plan. If she met everyone of at least some importance she could not only garner favor but also create a sort of unity in the organization that surrounded them. Akane was silent through her explanation. She had little to say, only remained politely silent with a bright smile on her face. Never mind the fact that she did what she could not to look directly at the Kido Captain's lack of a head.
"That is a great plan." Akane finally said, once Rin had finished, "I find that i don't know enough people around here either. Maybe all of us should try to branch out a bit more."

Kiyameru was quite pleased that things flowed smoothly, they worked. Simply put, and he remains to believe that since it worked, it would be a perfect opportunity to have a free state of mind. He needed it to be open and clear, but still set on the goal. He was a busy man, one who kept his mind on many things, multi-tasking with duties and a clear mind, trying to separate the two. He couldn't, alas, but he could continue walking as his duties had not yet reached him. He, too, noticed the sense of intensive exercise. "I notice you were recently training, Matsuyori." he smirked, albeit proud of his lieutenant. He wish all of his officers were like her, her actions and personality most definitely ensured the role.
He had many other options, under-trained but strong shinigami or disciplined, so-so-strength shinigami. He didn't want to compromise, he wanted the sweetest of the crop. The most golden kernels, the ones with the highest quality. She was the best he had, and he didn't regret the decision. Now, the meeting itself, in present time, was a nice soft blotch on events. It was a day to converse and relax, not one meant for battle. The nice, sunny day. Everything was normal, save for the lack of work, and he had no need of frustration as of yet. "Minatsuki, what really made yourself exit seclusion? Why did you do it anyways?"

"Indeed Lieutenant Matsuyori. I know everyone's name, and everyone's face in the Gotei 13, but I have not met everyone, yet." She added, like she mentioned before she was making this her personal goal. So far she had met a few of the Lieutenants and Captains of the Gotei. So far, all of the encounters had been more or less pleasant except her encounter with Rukia's Captain, Captain Kurosawa. Captain Kurakunaru spoke to his Lieutenant briefly before then turning his attention to Rin, asking her a question on why she exited her seclusion, and why she did it anyways, and it was a good question, also one she could easily answer. "As I am sure, and aware, most of you know of the secretiveness of the Kido Corps. Most of you more or less knew who the previous Captain was, and my previous Lieutenant was, yet, I am sure none of you had any personal connections with them."
She said, remembering the funeral of her Captain and Lieutenant. Although their bodies had 'mysteriously' disappeared, a funeral was still held, while the Captains and Lieutenants and many showed up to show their respects, it was only members of the Kido Corps who really know who they were. "The bad thing with us being so secretive, is it also tends to spread a lot of rumors. Everything from the mysterious ghostly headless Captain, to the fact I supposedly steal souls." Although the bad thing about the last one, is it had some truth in it, every rumor had a basis in truth somewhere. "For the last two years, since the deaths of my Captain and Lieutenant I have secluded myself and kept the secretiveness of the Kido Corps. Just as my previous Captain and Lieutenant did." She said, stating the obvious facts before getting on with the rest of the story. "For the last two years, I have immersed myself in the knowledge of the libraries, and trained myself to a level, that I feel, on some footing I am equal to the Captains here..." Trailing off again, as she let out a sight before she spoke again.
"I've decided that, unless I want to end up as forgettable as my Captain and Lieutenant, that, at least, I personally need to start socializing with the rest of the Gotei 13." She said, letting that sink in for a moment before speaking. "So I am tossing off the shroud of my Captain and Lieutenant before me and really taking the reins. I will not force the rest of my division to stop being as secretive, and I will also not enforce that on my lieutenant..... When they choose to show themselves, that is up for them, and only them to decide." She felt this was the right thing to do for her division. A lot of people in her division still held some loyalties to how things used to be, and most of them were no-surprise, twice,three-times, or even four times older than she was, so she felt even though she was a Captain, she had no right to force them to change their ways.

Akane wiped her forehead as they walked and she listened. She nearly recovered from her training session. She recovered quickly after all. She had to. If she was always tired she would get little done in the world of bettering herself. Not only that but often enough hollow or other negative spirits came in groups and you needed to have stamina to survive. Another thing you needed was friends, which, this little walk was helping.
The Kido Captain spoke very well, and truthfully at that. there had been many terrible rumors about her predecessors and her as well. She'd heard the younger and more disrespectful shingami calling them demons in disguise or that they were actually something entirely different. The fact that Rin didn't seem to possess a head only made this whole issue worse. Her weapon was a book as well, everything just seemed stacked against her in the world of rumors. Akane Matsuyori had put little stock into these rumors. She was never easily swayed by simple rantings of others. She thought for herself, she had to from when she was born until now.
"Admire the fact that you allow your subordinates the option to do what they will." that was true. She had seen too many masters in the past who made all of those who followed them to do exactly as they did. "Individuality is a powerful tool. Though, you must be careful that those who choose secrecy don't see you as an enemy for being open." in all things there was danger. Individuality was something of a double edged sword. "I am glad that you are putting an end to the rumors though. it isn't proper for our fellow shingami to say such cruel things about someone they don't know."

Kiyameru wanted to feel the stub where his arm was severed, wanting to enter his mode of reclusion due to the stress he can't seem to dispel. He did quite enjoy how well the the Kido Corporation's captain did with people, though the rumor about her absorbing souls, maybe she obtained some sort of quality from doing so if it was true. Everything this captain knew must lead all the way to Hana's execution. Most importantly, did Ezekiel come from the Kido Corporation? He was curious as to where he got such skill with kido from. " Captain Minatsuki, did you know a shinigami by the name of Ezekiel Hibana? I know you know ever face of every shinigami as well as there name, but I am unsure as to if you were here ten years ago."
Kiyameru took a minute to configure his zanpakuto so that the strap tightly wrapped around his waste, showing difficulty in doing so. " Damn stub, I need one of those prosthetic arms from 12th division. Matsuyori, mind helping me later on with that?" he seemed to become frustrated with the irritating disability he held every day. He was the figure of pity and annoyance in a way, when someone really knew. He was a sac of sobs, but that wasn't the person he was. He just dwelled on the memory of having almost everything torn away from him. He looked back and smiled at his lieutenant. He was sure the rumors about Minatsuki were untrue, it would be too extreme for even the Captain-Commander to ignore without furious interrogating and inspection.

It was Lieutenant Matsuyori who decided to speak up first, and it was reassuring to see that she agreed with her, letting her subordinates decide to be less secretive if they really wanted to. Although, she made good point that she didn't reveal things that were meant to be secret, or instantly become an enemy of her division, which also made since and was sound advice. Glad, that she could come out now, and dispel some of the rumors that had been forming around her for the past two years. Meeting with all the Captains, ensured that these rumors would be quickly curbed, since she was going to the top. So the meant a Captain or a Lieutenant heard a lower seat, talking about such things they could be corrected. It was a smart tactic, and one Rin did on purpose.
As soon as Lieutenant Matsuyori was done speaking, Captain Kurakunaru started to speak. First it was a question, if she knew a Ezekiel Hibana, someone who was in the Kido Corps ten years ago, it only took her a second or so to think about it, as he mentioned to his Lieutenant about getting him a prosthetic. "You know, I remember an Ezekiel Hibana, but only in passing. We never much conversed or anything, and like most people in my division, we kept to ourselves." She said, nodding, always making sure to exaggerate her movements so they could see her neck move up and down as they did so. She started to speak again, speaking more so to the Lieutenant. "You know, you make a very good point Lieutenant Matsuyori. Although, I am being open, it is really, only about myself. Our division is really secretive for a reason, I wouldn't dare speak about those things. I only want to dispel rumors from myself. I do, have a head, its just invisible, and what ever other nonsense has been floating around since my two year seclusion." She said, as she waved her hand back and forth when she said nonsense, as if she was wiping away the mess that had been left on her name, and the rumors that had been stuck with her more so because of her headlessness.
"I don't eat souls, I don't go around scaring people, and I'm not creepy! I am just like everyone else. I love to eat, I love to read, and I do enjoy the occasional drink!" She exclaimed, and she was almost sure there was one for sure rumor going around about her that was all true. That when ever the Captain drank large amounts of alcohol, she became quite a lush rather it be with man or woman. Although she had never laid in bed with another person, yet, before anything of the sort could happen something always silly happened, just killing the mood.

The bastard Ezekiel, so Kiyameru's assumptions were right about the man who severed his arm. Every mention made him wallow in anger and agony. He could never forgive someone who cut his arm off, forcing him to adapt to the fact he swung a sword with one hand. It took ten years to only merely pass the level of skill he was at before the whole bout he and the traitor had. Now that it was his duty to be captain, he really couldn't do anything about finding the boy, know he was alive. It pains him to have spared Ezekiel, the things he could have prevented if he could have finished him. Hana could have survived, he could have taken her as his wife, though being forced to transfer he could still return to her at night. They could have spent endless hours drinking, talking, enjoying themselves.
Even now, he cannot prevent the horrors Ezekiel is probably committing, due to his duties holding him back from traveling to the mortal world. Kiyameru looked at his lieutenant, who remained silent, so he shrugged and decided to scold her later. As he finished boggling his mind full of vicious thoughts, he walked alongside Minatsuki, listening to her rant about her rage towards the rumors. The talk of alcohol piqued his interest for some sake. "I could go for some alchohol. I've only been tormented by the hell of the past. Ah, but not while I am on call. Always delays my want for a drink. You, too, shouldn't drink when your on call. Any moment we could be needed." he turned his head towards the fellow captain, holding sad eyes and a cold expression. It wasn't meant to be rude, but a bit of common sense.

The Lieutenant Matsuyori had suddenly gone quiet, and she could only assume that either she was contemplating her words or maybe she had just decided to let the two Captains speak for now. Honestly, she didn't really know or really care, so all she could do was let it go for now until Lieutenant Matsuyori decided to speak again. The Captain said he could go for some alcohol, that he had been tormented by his hell of a past. Then he mentioned that while he was not on call, that it always delayed his want for a drink, and that she too shouldn't drink when she was on call, since any moment they could be needed, she merely nodded before speaking. "I only drink on occasion and do it during the depths of night at one of are eateries. I almost never drink during the day." She rattled out as they continued to walk in no where in particular. Looking at the Captains sad eyes and cold expression, and in that moment of time she wondered if she could perhaps develop some kind of Kido for him to use, some kind of Kido that could at least give him temporary use of an arm.
"Captain Kurakunaru. Have you contemplated on getting a replacement arm from the twelfth division? I am sure they could manufacture something that acted as close to a normal arm as they could get it? Even if they couldn't perhaps I could.. design something. Some kind of complicated Kido that manifests your reiastu into a temporal arm that can be used as a real one. It actually makes sense and almost easy to make.. Since your reiastu is already a part of you, it would only be a matter of focusing it... Hrm.. maybe I am gonna have to run some tests..." She said as she was just rattling this off to him, trying to find some way she could help him out since it appeared he was visibly distressed by the loss of his arm.
