Walking along at a slow and steady pace... though really walking couldn't really be a accurate discribition of what he was doing. Instead the Captian was standing on his hands, which enabled him to float along upside down. None of the members of the 13th Division really batted an eyelash or took a second galance at their Captian's wacky behavior. Anyone who knew him well engough knew it wasn't about getting attention when it came to this kind of stuff... Ryou just liked to play. If he wanted their attention well... the plack on his desk said it all. As for Kurosawa he just softly hummed a tune to himself, "Iss it raining? Iss it sssnowing? Isss a huricane a blowing?" A Cheshire like grin of amusement was over his face this afternood, plus he had dress for success today... which was he liked to call it anyway. Whatever success just happened to mean, of that much he was not exactlly sure.
Right now though, the Captian displayed a simple curiousity in his eyes, yet it buried with a sense of madness. While he was dressed as always with his Captian's hatori over what he wore under it. It was under that the young man wore a red suit, with white ruffles coming out the ends of the sleeves. Along with black pants to go with his normal sandles. Though he had a bit of a hoboish look to the red suit and pants which did seem a tiny bit big for him, and a little dusty. He seemed a bit absent minded at the moment as he hummed to himself... not really sure what was going on. Though he did mummble to himself as he wondered if anything had happened while he wasn't paying attention and micromanging the Division, "Aww In'ei it ssseems we might have misssed sssomthing." His Zanpakuto's feminine spirit Ningy laughed, "Well we could always start somthing Ryoun-kun..." Then another female voice, that was more boyish screamed, "Are you brain dead... we worked to hard to get to this postion to just screw stuff up. You are such an idiot Ningy..." The fighting voices where instantly silenced by the one that spoke with a voice that mixed both genders, "Quite you two... Ryou dear... you just be nice to the other kids. We can play a game of chess later."
If thier was anything that the man could use to discribe his delimma at the moment it would be the word 'hyper and bored'... yes he was bored. He was probably supposed to be doing some sort of work right now, but he just couldn't remember what it was, and so he was bored. What Ryou really wanted was some fun games to play, or even some fresh meat from the acadmy to play around with. Oh how he liked chasing them around and making things go bump in the night. All in good fun though. Were was a good stack of paper work when one needed it... or even better yet a upstart who you could shove a sandle up thier butt to make them get back in line. A sigh escaped his lips as the Captian had wondered away from the baracks. Which considering the fact that he looked like he was staring off into space, it almost made this term to be quite appropiate for that jugdement call. It didn't take him long thought before he was wondering over in Division 9 terriorty... realizing were he was when he saw the symbol on the building... the man face palmed. "Sssome times I think I ssspend to much time in the cloudsss..."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 450px; padding: 10px;][bg=121212] MATSUMOTO PURE IMAGINATION. As Captain Matsumoto walked along, his wooden sandals clicked on the cobblestone path. With each step, his white Captain’s haori swayed behind him. He didn’t quite enjoy wearing his haori, nor any uniform. When he was in the Rukongai, he often removed his Shinigami uniform. It’s not that others didn’t know he was a part of the Gotei 13, it’s just they seemed to be at ease when he seemed like The Lost Shinigami once again, the hero of the Rukongai, defender of the people. The Seventh Division was perfect for him. He was in charge of relations between the Rukongai and the Seireitei. Former Captains didn’t’ spend much time in the Rukongai, instead preferring to listen to petitions and letters from the citizens. He was a bit more hands on, which received some scorn from his subordinates. They weren’t used to Matsumoto’s ways, not yet. But, he hoped to lead by example and show them how he intended to work things. After spending hundreds of years wandering, on his own, fleeing from the Gotei 13, it was still strange for him to be living among the Shinigami, giving them smiles and curt nods as they saluted him when he passed. They had been his hunters and his potential captors. Now, they were his allies. Today he had business with the Ninth Division, which was in charge of security for the Seireitei. He had received some intelligence that there was an underground smuggling operation going on, where Shinigami were smuggling out military surplus to the Rukongai and selling it for the highest bid. It was a serious security breach and although he didn’t have any evidence the Ninth Division would no-doubt love to look into it further. Rounding the corner, he came upon the entrance to the Ninth’s Barracks and another Captain. It was Ryou Kurosawa. From what he understood, the Captain of the Thirteenth was a bit of an odd-ball. He seemed to fit the bill, with his red hobo-suit underneath his haori. But, Mastumoto wasn’t one to judge too far, as not too long ago, he himself had been homeless. “Good day Captain,” he said and gave a curt nod. It was good for him to become acquainted with his colleagues, no matter how odd they were. STATS: HAN: 20, REI: 20, HAK: 12, SEI: 11, BUK: 20, HOH: 15 WORDS: 379 | TWC: 379 |

Indeed he was starting to wonder if just maybe it would be better to get his head out of the clouds. The Shinigami was starting to wonder just a little bit for the first time in awhile about the impressions that he was making on his fellow Captains. This idea though was completely swept away, like tears in the rain, as the girlishly playful voice of Ningy whispered softly, "Don't be a silly boy. It is more fun to play with them... always so much more fun to play. Besides that last one was such a big meany... and she made the little Rukia-chan sad." Having decided to land on the ground by now, the man was just walking along normally as he stared up at the clouds. By this point he didn't really care where he was, and knew only that if he was needed back at the 13th Division then someone would send a Butterfly to contact him. In fact that was what the Captain was hoping for now that he thought about it. It was always so adorable and cute to see those little guys to be floating around everywhere. In fact the Captain was so lost in his own little world that he didn't see Matsumoto's approach, until the man was much closer.
He waited though until other had said something, before overreacting and turning to look at his fellow Captain in mock surprise. Pointing at him accusingly, "Now you sssilly sssilly boy. Why did you want to come around and sssneak up on poor little me and my Mother while we where talking. Oh you are quite the naughty one Matsumoto-san." Ryou had always made it a point to memorize names and faces, but he was sure that he didn't know the other too well.... then again... he could have just forgotten. Fading out for moment as he tried to recall, it was a few minutes before he seemed to return to reality and shrugged his shoulders before returning his attention to the other man, "Yesss Yesss a good day indeed my friend. Not a cloud in the sssky, which is sssad."[/color] His face would make exaggerated emotions, that went with his words, and gave away his obviously manic state, If I am correct though, and I believe I am... that meansss that the wind isss certainly low. Ssso the butterfliesss are fassst in tow. They are certainly adorable don't you agree. Mother thinksss so, that much is for sssure...
His voice trailed off suddenly as the man quickly realized he was probably overloading the other Shinigami with information, "Sorry..." Just as it seemed that Ryou had calmed down after his apology, the man suddenly asked in a bit of an excited tone, "Wait wait wait sssilly boy. I am here like a wonder cloud, floating through the breeze... but what the heck brings you all the way here form your humble abode in the 7th Division." He stood the pointing at the other with a bit of a sillier version of his usual Cheshire cat grin... Kurosawa was in a obviously playful mood.

Then again, it seems to be that way more than it is not in the Seireitei, it seems. A sign of the Soul King's favor, perhaps?” Captain Matsumoto said and glanced off towards the clouds. Captain Kurosawa was an odd one, his behaviors not at all the typical disciplined type that the Shinigami often had. But, he figured that the Old Man wouldn't have allowed some sort of maniac a position in the Gotei 13, without good reason. Was it an act? Matsumoto wondered that. There was nothing more powerful than throwing your opponents off, making them believe something was true nature, when it really wasn't. Did he think that was truly Kurosawa's intentions? Probably not. But, if it were, he had to give him kudos for his acting job. It was near perfection. “As for my purpose of being here, it's business. I have gathered some very valuable intelligence that I feel the Ninth Division will be grateful for. That is, if it proves to be true,” Matsumoto said and walked past his fellow Captain, to the front entrance He grabbed the large bronze knocker on the barracks door and rapped it a few times. The thunderous knocks resounded across the courtyard. A wooden slat in the door slid beack revealing the face young unseated officer peered out at them. Upon seeing two Captains standing outside, Matsumoto thought the kid's eyes were going to burst out of his head. “Just one moment Captains!” he said and then he heard fiddling with the locking mechanisms. Matsumoto folded his arms and waited patiently. Sure, if he wanted to, he could have easily jumped over the top of the wall. But, that wasn't the civilized thing to do. Walls and doors were created for a reason. The door opened and he stepped inside. “I've never been inside the Ninth's barracks, this is quite cozy. Wouldn't you say so yourself, Captain Kurosawa?” “Thank you sir! We do our best to keep the grounds in perfect condition,” the young Shinigami said. He was standing alert, at the ready. Matsumoto nodded casually. “Is Vice-Captain Hisagi here?” “Uhh—I'm not sure sir, but I will go check.” Matsumoto nodded. “Take your time son.” The Shinigami must have not heard him, because he off, in search of the Lieutenant. It was well known that the Ninth didn't have an active Captain. Matsumoto wondered with the Old Man would fill the position, or bump up Hisagi. He scratched his unshaven face and waited, admiring a small koi pond they had in the courtyard. STATS: HAN: 20, REI: 20, HAK: 12, SEI: 11, BUK: 20, HOH: 15 WORDS: 575 | TWC: 954 |

"Indeed Indeed my good sssir that may be true. One can almossst say that there is never a cloud of rain in the sssky." Pausing for a moment Kurosawa looked around with an expression of paranoia, but it seemed so dramatic, that it was obvious meant for more playful purposes, "Though when doesss rain my dear Matsumoto-sssan... it ssseems like it is sssimply to wasssh away the blood of our fallen... and the tearsss of our grief. So that like good little tin sssoliders we can march forward again." The cheerful way in which Ryou said such a nihilistic and solemn statement came off as creepy in a way that showed... the sometimes insane nature in which the man acted, wasn't a show. Not completely anyway, which was how he was able to pull off acting like a madman so perfectly. In fact you could actually say that Ryou had simply learned when to let that part of him have it's fun, and when to put it back on it's leash. Another advantage Kurosawa found to living for so long was that you had lot more time to work through your problems to develop coping mechanisms. His childish nature was the one that he used, so his madness didn't normally manifest in it's darker tone. It was certainly useful for playing games with his enemies in combat. That much Ryou had found out long ago, but that was the only time he used it as method to get people to let their guard down.
Raising his eyebrow curiously Kurosawa looked over at the other man, "Well now that isss interesssting.... Wait a moment!!!" The last three words where suddenly yelled as the Captain took a dramatic pose, "I remember now what I wasss doing. It seemsss I didn't go floating off with my head for a hot air balloon ride after all."vLaughing like a school girl his words where obviously a bit confusing, but when he took off his top hat and retrieved the envelope that was perched in his hair. "My friend I think we could very well be here for the sssame purpose. Though I had a little report written up to with what I needed to sssay verbally. One must alwaysss be a good and EFFECTIVE recordsss keeper." The word 'effective' was spoken at a bit of a uncontrolled yell, that left a small twicth in Ryou's eye as it went away. "Since I am in charge of planning and coordinating the defense of our dear home, I prefer to keep ssstockpiles checked very meticulously. Recently I noticed that there have been sssome irregularities that have been happening way too, oh how shall I put this... regularly." He was of course talking about the timing, and that was where some of the pieces of paper in the envelope he had... charts which showed this.
The way he talked about the situation allowed the tactical and more stable minded side of the Captain to show through. Also giving away a bit why someone like him was kept around. Ryou was as simply as smart as he was mad, though that was not something you really saw him lording around. He preferred to let his work do the talking, since that was more helpful to Soul Society anyway. Even in this moment of maturity Kurosawa couldn't help, but let his childlike nature spoil it a bit, "I am not really sssure who could be doing thisss or why it is being done. I certainly don't think it would be of our guysss though... hopefully." The 13th Division Captain could come across as idealistic sometimes. Then again this just depended on whether or not you caught him when he was in a more manic state, and right now was one of time. After all he had just succeeded in helping to uncover something after all, "Ssso it seemsss Matsumoto-sssan, that we both have business here today. Thank you for the reminder."
Standing there next to the other Shinigami as they waited for the doors to open, Ryou chuckled to himself as he looked to Matsumoto with amusement, "I wonder sssometimess if we alwaysss ssseemed like such childern then. Acting like we were scared of our own shadowsss when our Captainsss were around." The Captain seemed more calm and almost sage like when he spoke in that far off manner that he was doing now. With a soft sigh he said, "Oh my my my... how thingsss change with the passage of time, don't they Mastumoto-sssan? If it isss ok with you I much prefer the high road." He wasn't being impatient, it was simply more fun to jump the wall now that they had been invited in. Ryou did not consider the method of his entry to be rude, as long as he didn't break anything... and he was invited. With those words the man was gone as he flash stepped up onto the roof and down into the open area near the koi pond, which would be where Mastumoto would see the 13th Division Captain crouched while staring into the water and saying to himself, "I have to get usss a couple of thessse. Ssso pretty."
He turned his head though and looked in the direction of the other two Shinigami when they acknowledged him, "The ssset up is quite top nocth indeed. You ssshould all be proud of yourssselves. Such a well taken care of home leadsss me to believe that thisss isn't the only part of the 9th Division that isss in such tip top ssshape. Very good work indeed, though I do have one quessstion?" Extending his arm the Captain pointed at the fish in the koi pond, "Are these thossse Butterfly Koi form the human world that I have heard about. They are ssso pretty... Alssso tell Hisssagi-san I would like some of thessse brought over to the 13th Divisssion or tell me when I can come get sssome. Oh they are sssuch pretty fishesss."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 450px; padding: 10px;][bg=121212] MATSUMOTO PURE IMAGINATION. Matsumoto found it amusing how different his fellow Captain approached entering the Ninth Divison's compound. He had taken the route to simply jump and glide over the top of the wall, while Matsumoto had been formal and remained outside, waiting for them to open the gates. That went to show the difference in philosophy between the two men. Captain Kurosawa was perhaps the most informal person that Matsumoto ever met, but it had its own charm. Yets there was a bit of charm behind his goofy ways. Most would most likely find the way he dragged on the “S” sound to be annoying, or his over-dramatic facial expressions to be irritating. But, it was fun for Matsumoto, who had spent most of his long existence running, hiding, and fighting. It was good to meet someone different, and it was even nicer to be able to smile because of them. "Since I am in charge of planning and coordinating the defense of our dear home, I prefer to keep ssstockpiles checked very meticulously. Recently I noticed that there have been sssome irregularities that have been happening way too, oh how shall I put this... regularly. I am not really sssure who could be doing thisss or why it is being done. I certainly don't think it would be of our guysss though... hopefully." Captain Kurosawa said as they both stared at the nice koi pond. "Ssso it seemsss Matsumoto-sssan, that we both have business here today. Thank you for the reminder." With that said, Kurosawa continued on, this time discussing the Koi fish and speaking to two other Ninth Division members nearby, all the while crouched. Matsumoto was in deep thought. Should he reveal that he also knows about the smuggling? Or, should he keep it to himself. They were allies, of course. While he was naturally guarded, deep down inside felt that Kurosawa would do no harm. His spacey ways didn't immediately lead to the conclusion that he was stupid. That was judging a book by its cover, and Matsumoto tried to avoid that at all costs. He's a fellow Captain, a comrade, I should be able trust him with my life, let alone intel.Captain Matsumoto grinned and faced Kurosawa. “Yes, indeed it does. And it seems, we are here on the same business, after all. As you know, my job is to manage relations between the Seireitei and the Rukongai. Unlike my predecessors, I don't prefer to sit behind a desk listening to petitions and reading letters. No, I go out into the Rukongai, talk to the locals, listen to their concerns. Because of this, I've earned loyalty of some, and have received a tip about our supplies being smuggled out.” He sighed and rubbed the back of his head. “While, I prefer to have faith in the integrity of Shinigami, the other half of me is a born skeptic. I feel there is more to this, and I think that there are those inside who do support this little thievery scheme.” Matsumoto wondered, would Vice-Captain Hisagi show up? And if he didn't, would he take it upon himself to lead an investigation. It was a bit out of his jurisdiction, but he wasn't one to sit idle and let things go on, just because it wasn't in his job description. If goods were getting in and out of the Seireitei, what's to say that people weren't too? If that was the case, that posed a great deal of danger to the whole of the Gotei 13. Although they each had specific jobs, it was the main duty of the Captains to protect those who serve under them, along side them, and w STATS: HAN: 20, REI: 20, HAK: 12, SEI: 11, BUK: 20, HOH: 15 WORDS: 615 | TWC: 1,569 |

Ryou stayed where he was crouching by the pond, and waiting for Vice-Captain whom Matsumoto had summoned. It wouldn’t be till the other male came over there next to him that Ryou finally stood up and turned to face the other while he was listening to what he was saying. So he had been right after all, and there was a reason for the missing supplies… he had suspected something such as smuggling because of the nature of it. The disappearing supplies seemed to go away like clockwork, which was why he knew that someone was taking them, and it was probably a coordinated effort also. The Captain was quite impressed with other man’s ability to get information like that, the grin on his face widened as the other talked about this work in the Rukongai, “Good good good Good…. That certainly sssounds like you are being quite the delightful Captain and I can tell you that I have heard it through the grape vine that people in the Rukongai certain are happy with you. Like a bunch of squirrelsss ssskittering around like RATS IN MAZE!!!! They are jussst so excited over you to bring the cheese.” Most of his words were spoken in his typical fast paced manic way of speaking, but the last three words about rats in maze where suddenly yelled out.
Looking around in a paranoid as though he hoped no one had him he focused back in on Matsumoto, “Except the little kidsss of the 40th… or wasss it 41st…. or wasss it 42nd…. I don’t remember, anyway they sssaid you don’t bring enough candy. Ssso I have been having to take them little packages of candy. Ssshame on you sssilly boy for not taking enough candy, ssshame ssshame ssshame.” Remember though that they were talking about a topic that was quite a bit more important than candy, and also the fact he was ranting the man said in a squeaky voice with a look of mock guilt on his face, “Sorry…” The 13th Division Captain was glad that the other man at least wanted to have faith in his fellow Shinigami like himself, but understood were the older Captain was coming from. Kurosawa himself was only so worried about because it was a potential hole that was being put in his precious defensive tactics. That was something that he could not allow happen, “If there isss truth in what you sssay Matsssumoto we will both have to tread carefully. Consssidering the fact that it could be sssome potentially powerful people run this operation, essspecially when motivated by greed. In the sssame vein they could just be sssimple thungsss who have enough clout to pay gaurdsss to look the other way.”
Going quite, Ryou’s aura slowly turned into something that was as dark and cold as the pleasant attitude he had presented before was happy. His words were layered over with a maniacal tone, while his eyes held a murderous intent, “There is one thing I do know Matsssumoto-san. When I find thossse responsssible, they better hope I am not alone.” He laughed in a dark manner as he rubbed his hands together, “You know Matsssumoto… I find it quite funny how sssuch people who hurt others and put innocence at risssk for their own greed will sssqueal when they meet a real monssster in the night.” Ryou wasn’t the type who killed criminals… though he certainly would if they gave him an excuse. No he preferred to have them driven mad if he could get the chance. The idea mostly came from the fact that he had noticed the lack of justice people where he lived have gotten. He was type who believed that the punishment should fit the crime. The thing that he never voiced though was that Ryou preferred to judge such things… with his own moralistic ambiguity.
