When things were bad, i was never really sad HISTORY:
Kau was once a shy, happy child; but that part of his life was long gone. He didn't know who he used to be. He couldn't remember any detail about where he used to live, or who his parents were. Even if he had tried to escape, he had no where to go. His life was a mess, and he was so emotionally damaged that he thought it was normal. He thought life was supposed to be that way.
When he was 12, a man took him to a better life, or what he said would be a better life. After that he was made into a human dog. His eyes were taken from him, and when he wouldn't stop crying and pleading to go home, so was his voice. He could still walk on his own two feet, but if he was ever caught doing it he was pushed back to the ground. He went through the same motions day by day, being treated like a dog. He was taken for walks, fed from a bowl, and had a special dog bed to sleep on. There were times where he was allowed to sleep in a real bed, but that was only after he did other things for his master, and after awhile, his body yearned for those times. They gave him happiness in his mess of life.
His master was very kind to him. He allowed him things other dogs didn't have. Kau's four years as a dog were happy, and he forgot his human years. There was always something wrong, but he couldn't understand what. He knew something wasn't right, but he couldn't question it. His voice was gone. The loss of his eyes made him unable to write his questions out. He was left in a powerless state. He could only accept it. The people that lived in the mansion seemed to have forgotten he could understand them, or maybe they didn't care. They would always talk about how disgusting he was, and how it was repulsive to be near him. That only added to his suspicion that something wasn't right.
When two new guys came in a year after him, he knew nothing was right about his situation. They were said to be his master's bodyguards, but he didn't understand why they were never with him. The two men would try to be nice to him by taking him for walks, and even talking to him as if he could respond. He did his best to acknowledge that they were speaking to him, but he was never sure it it was enough. The men, even though they were the nicest of all the people that stayed with him and his master, they also seemed like the most dangerous. They always smelled like blood and death, and he sensed danger lurking around them. About two years after he was with his master, he met another person. He was apparently the man in charge of his master. That man was intimidating, and he could sense he was power hungry. No matter what happened, he knew nothing would satisfy him. The only words that man spoke about Kau to his master was "That's disgusting".
Kau never really knew what was wrong with him and what made people want to ignore him and pretend he didn't exist, all he knew was that it hurt. He wished sometimes there were ways he could stop his ability to understand them, but that wish never came true. When four years had passed, Kau was treated differently by his master. He started to be even crueler to him day by day, and that made Kau wonder what life was like before he started living with his master. He didn't remember anything about himself, just his name. All he could do was hear the voice of someone he assumed was his mother calling for him. He wondered if life was always like this, if he was always someone's pet. He could only live through the days motion by motion, hoping his master would be nicer to him the next day.
The day Kau's food wasn't waiting for him once he woke up was both the longest and the shortest day of his life. He went to find his food, and tried asking the cook for it. The cook pretended he didn't exist, instead of shooing him away like normal. Kau's master then got him, and took him for a walk, but he couldn't do well on an empty stomach. The walk seemed like it took days, but it only took hours. They passed by familiar places for the first few hours, but the last few was unfamiliar. If his master left him there, he'd never be able to get back. When they got to their destination, his master took a gun from his pocket, and shot Kau in the face.
Kau was sent to hell for living for his master, loving his master, lusting over his master's touch. It was sin how much he craved it. While in hell, Kau never turned back from his dog ways. He still acted very much like a dog, and was still treated like one. In hell, however, they were much nicer. He never really had a place to go, so was a stray just sleeping wherever. He got food from various locations, and quickly learned the areas he could walk in and what areas to avoid just by their scents.
Hell wasn't a bad place for a stray dog. He was able to tell that these people were in fact not people very quickly. He could also sense the energy levels around him. The beings around him were usually powerful, but they never would have harmed him. He was never seen as a danger, and more like a hell hound. He was fed scraps by those around him, and when there was no one around him, he just sniffed around for something edible. Sleeping was never a problem, as he was sure no one would do anything to him while he laid pretty much where ever he liked.
He was taken in by a new master after so many years. They all seemed to blur together. He stopped caring how long he was there. He heard people around call his new master both Lust and Ruko, but he didn't care for a name. He'd never be able to say it. His master was just called master, and for giving him a place in the new world, he swore to be loyal to his new master, no matter the situation.
RP SAMPLE: Walking through an unknown area was always a bad idea. Even worse if you couldn't see where you were going. Kau may have gotten used to his disability, but it was still a scary notion to think of. He went on and on, not recognizing any smells, not sensing anyone he knew. It was tiring and bothersome how he couldn't find his way. If someone he couldn't sense was following him, he could be killed. No one could help him, and if he wasn't careful he could fall. Each step of his may as well be his last, but he didn't care. He had to keep going on to find something familiar. He was becoming frantic, but needed to keep going. He would run into something he knew soon, he knew he would. There was no doubt in his mind that he was lost forever.
Being lost in an unknown area and bombarded with strange scents that didn't tell him what anything was is usually a fear of his. When he was getting to know an area on normal circumstances, he'd have someone near him that would speak to him and let him know what each building was. He could never get used to doing things on his own. He was just a dog, nothing more. He needed to be sheltered and protected. Just going on wasn't helping him. He needed to calm down and think. There was no question about what needed to be done. He had to stop and try to find out where he was. There was one scent around that was only slightly familiar. He couldn't place his finger on it, but he knew it. It was all around him. It may have been a scent that he knew from his previous master. Yes, that was it. The scent was human. He had spent so much time in hell, much more time than in the human world, that he had forgotten the scent of human. He was surrounded by humans, and none of them could see him sniffing around. That explained why he was lost and why no one was helping.
Kau's only question left was how he got to the human world. All he remembered was following a wonderful scent, then it went away and he became lost. Curse his dog-like qualities. How could he have been tricked like that? He tried to find out which types of humans they were and if they could help, but he was still scared so it wasn't working as well as he'd like it to. He could only make out that they smelled like humans. They were all masked by horrible perfumes that attacked his nose. He needed to identify some of the other scents to see if he could find a good shelter. There was a sweet smell in the air, so he decided to follow it. 'Wasn't that what got me lost in the first place?' was a thought he quickly pushed to the back of his mind. When something smells this good, you must follow it. His life as a dog taught him that if you find it, good things will come. He could tell the scent was some sort of treat, like from a bakery. There was so much smells, most of chocolate and vanilla, but there were a few of them that smelled better. They were treats he's never been able to experience. The longer he stayed outside the bakery, the more he craved a treat. He had to identify some of the other things around him before he got lost again, so he went next door. If he stayed there, he'd never want to leave.
Next door was a little difficult to place. He could only smell paper coming from there, which didn't help him much. There was so much paper in there, so it could be a printing place, or a post office. The paper smell was itching his nose, so he tried something different. Going further down the sidewalk, he found a place that seemed to be a school. It was abandoned, but when he ran his fingers across the gate, it didn't seem rusted or old. That gave Kau some sort of clue as to what time it was. It was probably dark outside, which is why the humans around had unfamiliar scents. They were probably prostitutes and drug dealers. He decided it was probably not a safe place to be, but if they couldn't see him, who cared? Kau stayed in front of the school gate, and went to sleep. He would try again in the morning.
