A lonely woman stood in the middle of a baseball diamond, her flowery dress that only reached just above the knee. Her bright red hair was drifting into the slow wind but wasn't in the Fullbringer Annabella Scarborough's face, her eyes showing a lonely passion but as she picked up a baseball from the stack was beside her. She had the looks of a normal human and even felt like a normal her reitsu hidden.
She slowly pulled the bat up in her left hand getting ready for the perfect hit, she was gracefully rolling her shoulder and elbow. She threw up the baseball about four feet above her head enough to get in a swinging position as soon as it was four feet down she swung hitting the ball hard making it fly over the fence that was across the field and landing in the park just across from the baseball diamond. This was common for her to do just to be alone and playing with these ole ball's makes her remind of what she would do to men if they hit on her.
She threw up this ball but was slower know and this one clunked to the ground which made her sad so she reached down picking the ball up again but this time doesn't fool around and swing hard hitting the ball but hit the fence rather hard making it rattle against the nearby post's which made her laugh slowly.

The night air was cool and moist from today's light rain. The Spring weather had made the parks and fields glimmer with chilled dew. The sky had only recently darkened and the clouds had departed the sky just in time for the blood red sunset. A light mist had settled just above the grass.
Lennart had been walking for some time now. he'd been out since before the sun had set and had no intention of stopping soon. He was on patrol after all. He had dealt with two weak dark spirits earlier. Lennart's reiatsu was suppressed and his olive drab over coat was damp from the earlier rains, just as the grass under his feet. The old fighter pulled his coat off and slung it over his shoulder. He shook his hat covered head as a few stray droplets flew off to the ground. It was then that his senses detected something incoming. His powerful hand snapped upward and was met with a solid THWACK! His dark rimmed eyes narrowed as he turned the object over so he could see it. A baseball. He hadn't held one in years. Hell, he hadn't had time for sports or games. A small huh, escaped his lips before he heard a new sound. CRACK! followed by the jingling of a fence. There was a hitter out there on the diamond. Swinging his coat back onto his shoulders and buttoning it once again he set out.
Lennart stepped onto the field and set his eyes on a girl with bat. Dressed like any normal woman would, however, there was something he couldn't put his finger on. Something different. He tossed the ball up into the air and caught it once again. He walked across the outfield and let out a high pitched whistle to get her attention. In the failing light the brim of his hat completely covered his eyes in shadow and the lower part of his face was hidden behind his high collar. "I think you hit this one a bit too hard." he called out to her holding the ball up above his head. "Nice swing though." Lennart tossed the ball into the air again and caught it with a solid thud.

Annabella grunted as a man came up to her which made her furious, she looked him over with cold eyes not really caring for the opposite sex she proffered the same sex someone reasonable and not such a nuisance, she says lowly with a hint of malice, "What do you want, Dick. I am not a person you can hit on. An I swing just fine.." She picked up the ball with ease then threw it up to just hit it as hard as she can flying over the fence and into the park.
She didn't want company really but she wasn't caring if he stuck around at all but she wanted to finish hitting these baseballs so she can relieve the little stress she had acquired through the day. She picked up another baseball picturing it was the man standing right by her, she throw the ball up higher so she can get full swing, when it was in perfect place he hit the ball making it whiz out into the park and she just finally noticed how dark it was which made her look up and look around seeing a crimson night sky she sighed not caring really anymore.

Lennart was a little taken a back by this woman. He had never been the best a detecting social ques or behaviors. Emotions were not a strong suit of his. He was nearly positive he hadn't done anything offensive, or flirty for that matter. He narrowed his eyes and looked away from her as she set another ball flying out into he park. Maybe he should try to re-start, apologize. Something. He hadn't spoken to anyone tonight and that was unusual. Things needed to be usual again. Lennart's gaze returned to the woman as another ball went flying out and away. She did have an impressive swing. Maybe that was the strange thing he couldn't place, maybe she was an athlete. Someone from a famous sports team. She certainly was tall enough to be. Though he didn't recognize her from anything he knew about baseball. Then again, he didn't watch the woman's league much.
"Excuse me." he started tossing the ball up again and catching it, "I didn't mean to offend you. I also wasn't trying to hit on you. I'm a little too old and busy to worry about romance" he held the ball out in front of him so she could see it. "I just so happened to be walking through the park and I caught this pot fly" he smiled, not that it could be seen behind his collar. "I came over to tell you that you're out." He could hope his attempt at humor wasn't wasted. After all, people liked jokes, right?.

Annabella twitched as he said excuse me which made her spit onto his shoes, she says slowly with a wild grin, "Excuse Me?" She heard him say those words but couldn't believe at all this man had some sort of manner's then he said he was older which made Annabella look him over once again know noticing he did look older she still hated him just by gender, she says quickly, "Oh you old bag so you like young woman.. I see you ogling my legs and body. What am I a piece of good property."
Once he threw up the ball once again she aimed to hit it right out of his hand aiming fast and strong just enough to hit the ball but miss the man's hand completely. She wanted to be intimidating and to scare the stupid man away from her, she could vary well take care of herself and even if hollows attacked she could take it.

Lennart's eyes looked down as she spat on his jack boots. No, his GRANDFATHER'S boots. He felt his temperature rise as she did that. As if to make matters worse she immediately began to insult him. He didn't understand. he hadn't done a single damn thing. What the fuck was this bitch's problem?! Lennart's teeth gritted as he caught the ball ounce again. It was then, in his angered state that he caught a bust of movment from the woman. She was swinging a bat at him.
Lennart's reiatsu flared for a split second as the ball dropped from his hand. With a speed beyond human he let the ball drop and twisted his right hand into the path of the incoming bat. His hand slammed against the bat with a powerful CRACK! His fingers were wrapped around the center of the bat. The strength of which he stopped the bat combined with Anna's swing caused cracked to spread across the surface of the bat. Lennart's eyes darted to the tall woman in front of him. His voice was no longer polite. He was done trying to e nice. "What is your problem?" he asked, voice more like a hiss than words. "Are you crazy?" and ironic accusation coming from the former murderer.

Annabella was aghast as he grabbed her bat making her blush furiously with anger and shame that she couldn't hit the stupid ball, She says hotly and angrily, "You stupid, Bastard. You broke my bat.. Are you going to pay for the fucking thing. An what the hell are you some kind of steroid juicing monster." Then she felt his reiatsu her eyes widen then she just dropped her bat and backed up slowly.
She says loudly knowing in a panic like state, "I am not getting locked up again, You Stupid bastard's!! Why can't you leave me alone to my life." She was already backing up with a angered look but a very hurt looking at him. All she could do was spit at him once again not helping at all but she couldn't help it with these kinds of pigs. She could be considered paranoid but paranoid saved her a bunch of times, this man was just with the classic bunch of maniac's that trapped her in her room.
She was very angry but she was keeping it in control and couldn't figure out what was happening and how he found her. She thought they had stop looking but..but they had found her again in this horrible place. There wasn't no cover or anything maybe if she ran past the fence that could be a blocker but if he was like her he would easily be able to jump over it, she was searching all around with crazy brown eyes.

Lennart couldn't believe this woman! She swung a damned bat at his face and then asked if HE was going to pay for it. She had to be crazy. There was something wrong with her. He had done nothing to provoke her aside from bring her ball back and compliment her. It was at that moment that something dawned on him. He saw her insecurity as he saw eyes widen in reaction to his reiatsu. She can feel me. He finally could place that strange something he could feel from her. It was small, likely suppressed but you could never cover it up all the way. She was a warrior, like he was. AA woman empowered by the Lord God.
His eyes softened as she stepped back away from him. He was nearly frozen by her outburst. Lock her up? Why can't I leave her alone? it didn't make sense. She must be running from something. For a moment while her eyes darted everywhere, likely looking for an escape route, the Fullbringer stood there, paralyzed. His hand still clutching the bat and hazel eyes looking at the frightened girl. She was scared, she was running, now she thought he was chasing her. Lennart knew that feeling all too well. He'd been pursued his entire life. By police, by demons, by those who wanted him dead. He once was locked up too. His childhood had been captivity.
Lennarts poke without thinking. Something in him made him reach out. "Who is hunting you? Why do they want you locked away?" his eyes were focused on the woman, all hostility had vanished. He released his grip on the bat and let it drop to the ground with a light thud. His hands moved to his sides and he turned so she could see his palms. Letting her know he had nothing in his hands, a general sign of harmlessness. He hoped she wouldn't bolt. He knew how hard it was to live on the run. He could think of little aside from his father's "lessons". He needed to help. He didn't know why.

As the bat dropped down to the ground she ran and picked it up cradling it in her arms this was one of Annabella most favorite bats that was her favorite. He most of thought of her as crazy just about know but she was fine just a little OCD. An the something appeared on his face recognition, he knew she could sense him and then must knew she was a monster also.
She was quite confused as he held his hands out in open palms revealing a peaceful motive and just wanted to talk. An she finally started to think and not let her emotions control over her. Annabella blinked as she took several steps backwards then fell down starting to sob know softly very softly, she was so confused know and didn't know what was true. She says softly but angrily, "You.. You...Don't want to take me... What do you want?". She was knowing looking up at the strange man in front of her. All she knew in her life was that she should run from any of her kind but this one seemed different.
This man seemed honest, kind, and even a awkward, she looked to the ball that was on the ground at his feet picking it up quickly then did like a ritual and stacked it on top of the other balls, she know had the baseball bat on her lap laying side ways still cradled to her muscular legs.

Quickly fear turned to confusion and sadness. Before his eyes he saw the woman break down. She fell to the ground and scrambled around like a child or a scared animal. She held her bat close to her heart as though it was the only thing in the world she cared for. She sobbed as though her world had been shattered. The Fullbringer could do little other than watch. He had few words for such raw emotion. He had seen things like this before but never quite the same. He had seen people and other things beg for life with tears and pleading. never had he been moved though. Not once had he felt this strange expression before. It was like something was rolling in his guts. It was... New.
Lennart knelt as she stacked the baseball. He placed his hands on his knee. His right hand, slowly, unthreateningly reach up to his collar and unbuttoned it. He pulled the collar to the side so that he was no longer hiding his face. Next he drew his hat off. With great care he pushed the cap into his pocket, exposing his somewhat shaggy gray hair. "I'm not here to hurt you. Not here to take you away either." he spoke in a soft and low tone. Doing what he could to make sure he didn't scare or insult this poor woman. "Right now, all I want to do is help." Lennart pulled the gloves off his hands and then extended his right hand toward the woman before him. "My name is Lennart. I'm a soldier for the Heavenly Father. I sensed great power in you too." He let a small smile cross his old scared lips, "You have power too, don't you?"

Annabella was even more confused as he kneeled down by her pulling the collar off knowing see his complete face which made her smile slight knowing he didn't want to hide from her but was trying to be understand, she thought just know that maybe there could be a difference in me, then he pulled his cap off then with great care pushed it into his pocket. She gave a crazy smile pulling one of his braided bang's up out of her eyes, her brown eyes examined his grey hair which was shaggy.
She started to get up shaking feeling really bad then he heard his name and then he said he was there not to take her or hurt her which made her smile feeling relaxed and not in trouble, She says softly, "No one can help me.. Monsters like your kind chase me.. They want to put me in a room want to use me as a tool." he didn't need to tell him her power but he already knows she has powers then he said his name was, Lennert which sounded peaceful, "Scar... Scar is my name.. She didn't use her real name but her nickname which was normal for her she wanted to be rude but she was scared still.

She examined him as he knelt there. She seemed to change as he watched her. From an animalistic fear and anger to a sort of confused acceptance. It was better than her being afraid. He didn't come here to hurt her or scare her. Now, all he cared about was helping her with her seemingly crippling problem. If he didn't have enough power to help he was part of something bigger. He had God and Mother Church to help him and her.
A monster? He had thought of himself like that far too many times. He had been called that by others as well. by his father and the police. He was a monster. however, now he was a monster for good. It was enough to redeem him, at least he hoped. "I'm not a monster like those who hunt you." he stood as she did. "I have been hunted too. By humans and monsters." He drew his hat from his pocket and again and played with it in his hands unconsciously. "I know how terrible being hunted can be, Scar, I can help you."

Annabella pulled the bat closer to her thinking more clearer but was still not trusting him, she should just by his already kindness. She kept rubbing the bat unconsciously with a little laugh she got up pulling out a bag that which held the balls originally in which was a simple black mesh bag. She got up grabbing the baseball on top of the pile pushing it into a bag starting to fill the bag up with baseballs, slowly with each ball with a little sigh. She looked up at the man, "I don't want to drag you or anyone in. I will be fine."
She started to moved with the first set of balls in her bag and know was here to retrieve the rest of the balls across the fence. The first one she gently bent down wrapping her slim fingers around the sphere squeezing it tight. She turned to the man know remembering his words about being hunted so she beconed him over she was shocked that she was accepting this man. She dropped the ball into the bad slowly while she started to move again to another one with sloth like steps.

She didn't want help. She didn't want to hurt or drag anyone in. It was a normal feeling. Lennart could tell that she held this burden entirely on her own. She seemed to be alone, hell, if she acted like she had when he first met him he wasn't surprised she was alone. It was a helpful defense mechanism though. If you were cruel to those you met and never let anyone come close to you they could not be dragged down with you. It was the way Lennart lived for years. Now he had a chance, a chance to repent for pushing so many people away who only wanted to help.
Lennart followed Scar as she beckoned to him. His walk over with his usual military posture and watched as she began retrieving her struck baseballs. "There is little I can't handle." he said very matter-of-factly.."I am part of something bigger. Something that gave me a new life." he knew he could sell her on this. After all, he had converted. "I can help you get away from these people that hunt you and give you a new purpose. Something to live for aside from survival and fear."

Annabella turned around to him as she grabbed another ball listening to him, it was getting dark faster and faster. She could handle the night by herself but she was starting to like this older man, she sighed returning to thinking about it as she dropped the ball into the bag almost half way filled with the balls she had in there. She looked down into her bad to gently rub a few balls like she was taking care of them, she always held her items as a human and not a possession. She was so odd she liked hitting the balls around but felt bad to hit them, she was all this time thinking of the man with the willingness and effort to help her.
Annabella gave a smile at him feeling more safer already he actually was warming up to her which made her huff, she looked down at his boots feeling so very bad about spitting on them, She says quickly, "I want to fix your boots.. Get them shined and better.". She was so confused know frowning lightly and shakes her haid again, she says softly again, "I will like for your help, I guess. But you got to be on my side and go by my rules. I make the appointments and assignments. I don't take orders." She was returning to her normal bossy self that was normal as she finally collected all of the balls.
