Words: 886 Notes: Will edit if need be. .2/3 pints filled. Tags: Dead guy He's not an upright Dog But an on all fours dog ! A slight ping of relief seemed to wash over the young captain; or perhaps it was terror. He wasn't quite sure what the difference between the two sensations was at the moment with the way this fight had gone. The Ninth Espada. Ninth And he was still this terrifyingly powerful. Sure, Jin had fought against the Primera, and walked away fine, but the mere fact that the difference between the two of them was only this much was astonishing. Jin would never say it, and he may not have fully believed it, but unless the rest of the captains started to show up and do their part, there may not be a Soul Society to protect much longer. Still, that was for a later day; He needed to focus on the now, this VERY moment required his utmost attention.
Outside of the battle at hand, inside the foliage, hidden behind the branches, leaves, and other fruit something was happening. The blood that trickled from the Arrancars hand and into the ground was becoming the lifeblood for a fruit. This fruit could very well be the key to ending this fight once and for all, but Jin needed to escape the beasts grasp. Or perhaps he didn't; he didn't like the idea of leaving zetsumei behind, but it was a durable sword, powerful and the other man couldn't hold the sword without the hilt digging into his hand. Still, Jin would be better off keeping his sword, and using the miasma, and the fruit to it's fullest affect. Watching as the beast cocked it's arm back, bringing it toward the captain, Jin needed to react NOW. He brought his arm up, as if he were going to catch the mans fist with his own. Instead quickly muttering a few words in conjunction with one another. "Bakudo #39: Enkosen"
Sure the spell itself wouldn't protect Jin entirely, but it would be enough to at least block part of the damage. The shield raising, the bala hitting it. A small disruption of their energies could be felt from around the battlefield as the shield only narrowly negated the bala, the force still knocking his arm away and into the air, his body shifting slightly. There was still the fist, and it was aiming right for his face. Going along with the force of his arm being knocked upward, Jin leaped off of the ground allowing his torso to take the brunt of the attack. His right hand clenching tightly onto his blade as the serrated handle locked into his palm. The punch easily knocked his body to the side and the force of the blow to his side easily giving him a bruised rib, and the air was gone in his chest. Still, he needed to get free.
Pushing his reiatsu to it's peak, Jin pulled on his blade. He didn't mind one way or the other if the man let go, or if he managed to cut his fingers off. His left hand grasped the handle, adding to the force being applied against the Arrancars hand. A battle cry followed as he shunpoed away. Jin tapped his chin as he looked over himself. He knew that he could out speed the man, and he would use that to his advantage coming up, but first he needed to check his person. No missing appendages, weapons, or luscious white locks. Nodding when everything checked out, Jin rubbed his face gently before groaning inwardly. The pain was starting to set in, and while this is exactly what he signed up for he just wanted to yell out "I didn't sign up for this shit!". Still, it was time.
Jin prepared his sword, and the seed, gathering energy to his hand. He quickly shunpoed appearing in front of the man, his sword coming from the right to the left, but half way through, about the time the other man could react, he shunpoed again, appearing to his side. He followed the same routine, but this time retreating slightly sooner than the last. Finally, he appeared behind the man, the distance just enough that Jin's sword couldn't touch him. What followed was something different. A technique that needed a little love and care, time, and patience. When Jin swings his blade, for whatever reason, droplets of blood spay outward. These droplets, when coming into contact with the enemy, will turn into red vines and will begin the growing process. The process that can ultimately end in the enemies death. Slowly, painfully, and exactly what Jin wanted this man to feel.
This act could easily be seen as naivety, anxiousness, or worst of all, exhaustion taking affect. And while none of these were true, he wouldn't argue if the Arrancar wanted to think any of them. And so as Jin swung his blade while still behind the man, his rose his left hand and called out, "Bakudo #26: Kyokko" Normally used to hide the user, Jin decided that it would be best to use on the droplets, to give them a deceitful, and well hidden head start into the growing process. Should these invisible droplets land on the beast, the cycle will begin. Shunpoing back, Jin then decided to wait, and react rather than take the offensive like he had been for some time.

Rudianos knew better than to try and grip the blade of a sword now being wrenched out of his grasp. He couldn’t let himself get cut any more than he was now – doing so would only serve to further Jin’s advantage, and Rudianos knew he would need every one he could get. There was no doubt, in his mind, that this would have to end quickly. He debated over how to end it, though – would he tear the captain’s head clean off of his shoulders? Crush him in his grasp? Or use his Omega Cero, a Cero with the power of a normal one condensed into a narrow area?
He didn’t have long to ponder the answer to such a question, however – more pressing matters were at hand. For example, the fact that Jin was now closing in on him, and was preparing to swipe at him. He attempted to block the blow, Omega Skin ensuring that he could halt the blade without any real consequence. However, it did not seem like he would be able to actually put it to use – not to any use that he noticed, anyway. Omega Skin, though he did not realise it, would block a fair amount of the blood splattered on him. Once it dispelled, the blood clinging to it would fall to the floor. However, given that it was laced with reishi, some would inevitably get through.
“Still you try to fight?” Rudianos questioned, advancing slowly and deliberately. “Can’t you see that it’s hopeless?” However, given the situation, it wasn’t really hopeless, on a larger scale. Most of the Espada were missing or preoccupied, and it wasn’t as if the Soul Reapers were incapable of handling a few rogue Arrancars by themselves. But, he wasn’t going to let on to that. He wanted to crush Jin, no matter the cost. The man had proven defiant, and was still standing when most had been turned into a barely-recognisable carcass. But, to Rudianos’ mind, eh was beating him. Humbling him. He was taking down Squad Ten’s captain.

Words: 555 Notes: .4/3 pints filled. Tags: Dead guy He's not an upright Dog But an on all fours dog ! Jin's hands quivered slightly. This fight was truly becoming taxing; his heart skipped a beat, his eyes wavered and were glossing over. Who knew how much longer he would be able to last, but he knew that the same applied to the Arrancar. He may have been better at hiding it, using his overwhelming amount of evil, and anger to hide his true motivation, but Jin knew better. He knew that should this fight last much longer that the two of them would be face first in the ground, dying beside one another, trying to justify the fight they just had. Well, that wouldn't be him. He cracked his back, loosened his joints, and watched as his skin seemingly repelled most of the blood droplets, making note that at least some of it landed.
And so it begins. Worse case scenario would be that he and Jin faint from exhaustion, everything resetting itself as if nothing happened. Still, Jin would much rather watch as the vines overtook his body and drained him of his beautiful liquid gold. He turned his head, listened to the Arrancar for a moment. What was he going on about? Jin still fighting? A small chuckled escaped the young mans lips, his sword creeping down to his side as he stood straight up. He wanted to talk about hopelessness? Jin had a few words regarding hopelessness "You beast of a man...you don't even know the meaning of the word hopeless." He began, his second hand coming up as he seemingly highlighted the entire battlefield.
"We have hope. Hope that there will be a tomorrow. Hope that we will see our comrades home. Hope that our friends will raise their glasses in victory." He narrowed his eyes, making sure that the Arrancar, Rudianos knew he was talking directly to him. "But I have my own hope; Hope that my blade will pierce your throat. The hope that I will have your head on a spike for all to see; Hope that I hadn't felt in centuries. Such hope that after this fight...." He turned to face the tree, a wild, almost sadistic grin spreading across his features. "That your soul will become yet another victim claimed by my tree, encased for eternity in it's roots, only to float endlessly in my swords blade. We are not hopeless Arrancar."
He crouched, ready to take off, sprinting toward the enemy. A new form of resolve taking over his entire being with this most evident in his eyes. If Jin weren't fighting for the lives of his comrades this day, most would probably mistake this look as...evil. "It is you that has lost all hope." And as the last words left his lips, Jin quickly vanished appearing in front of the man, quickly rolling under the enormous man, bringing his sword in an arc toward the mans ankle. Perhaps his speed would pay off. The cut to his hand was already working it's magic, the counteractive energies stopping any sort of healing, the same flow of blood exiting his wound as it had previously. Finally shunpoing as the roll ended, Jin skidded backwards, preparing for a counter, and gathering reiryoku to his hands once more. He would end this soon. I feel like that's been a theme for this fight so far...

“Your hope is in vain, boy. You will all die, sooner or later. I cannot count the amount that have died by my hand. By the end of this fight, you will be but another statistic. Embrace hopelessness, child. Your death is imminent.” Rudianos matched Jin’s grin when he saw it, now knowing that the fight was reaching its peak. If it wasn’t already obvious, he was at the end of his tether. Beaten, bloody, battered and burned, Rudianos was practically on his last legs. But, he was the Ninth Espada – he couldn’t just let a Capatain walk all over him. He had to fight back.
Rudianos had learnt his lesson – not to just blindly swing at a man clearly faster than him. Like Jin, his movements became reactive, and he just about managed to jump over Jin, his Zanpakutō scraping the fabric on the ankles of his boots. Though, in doing so, he felt dizzy, somewhat – which was when he saw what was happening to his hand. Expression now hardened, he used Sonido, though it did manage to drain his energy more than he would have been comfortable with. Eyes burning and expression displaying malice the likes of which came only to extremely exceptional individuals, he reappeared directly in front of Jin.
“Do not leave us yet, Tenth Division captain. I want you to see how truly pathetic your attempts at beating me are. I want to show you just what you truly are – a pawn of the system, a slave to the whims of someone who cares about you even less than I do, and to people who hate you. Die, Jin Hoshigawa – and send my regards to the Devil. Tell that trident-wielding fool I’m coming for him next.” Using what energy he had left, Rudianos used Sonido to appear behind Jin. He attempted to grab his neck, and if he succeeded, he would launch his Omega Cero directly at him. If he failed, however, he would follow Jin as much as he could, until he could no longer move.

Words: 707 Notes: .6/3. Aiming for 5 strikes, if all 5 land that will fill a fruit. Tags: Dead guy He's not an upright Dog But an on all fours dog ! Everything was happening for a reason; that's what he was telling himself to try and justify the fact that he had not killed this bastard yet. The fact that this beast killed his friend, the fact that he was on his last leg, and the fact that his sword hasn't plunged into his gullet to rip out every major, functioning part of his body to slowly, and painfully kill him where he stood. He wanted some sort of justice, some sort of reason why he wasn't standing over the lifeless, rotting corpse of an Arrancar that needed to die. He wanted every single fiber of his being ripped apart. He wanted it, but that didn't mean it would happen. There was something else at work here, and it pained him so. Still, he could at least win this fight, survive to fight another day. But first he needed to enact his little strategy.
Right before he started to speak though, the Arrancar did something he hadn't done once this fight. He sonidoed, and while it wasn't fast, or even comparable to his own method of movement, Jin at least knew now that the damn thing could move. He was able to use the Arrancar's method of high-speed travel. He knew it, and now it wouldn't be as much of a surprise to him, should Rudianos use it for any other reason; escape, attack, or to escape from his impending death. His grin widened as the beast started spouting something or another about the devil, whatever that was, and Rudianos going for him next. "I'm almost certain you can tell him that yourself you bastard." Jin was ready, the bastard sonido coming to a very predictable spot. Behind him. Jin shunpoed backwards, his opponent following him to each separate location. Perfect
He muttered inwardly. He knew what he was going to do. He shunpoed to a closer location to the base of the tree, his hand raising and then swishing as an incantation came. "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat! Bakudo #10: Horin" The incantation felt appropriate for the fight at hand, but Jin needed to focus, and not worry so much about little things like that. His hand pointed toward one branch, pulling down creating a tight rope, pointing to a second and doing the same. The yellow rope keeping itself intact, as the points started to connect. He pointed to a third, his shunpoing keeping the distance between the two of them necessary as he connected a third to the trunk of the tree. He was ready, he shunpoed, stopped and waited for Rudianos to appear near him. Jin ducked down, leaped backwards away from him, pointing his hand toward him as he unleashed the Bakudo toward the Arrancar. The rope using the three extra points to increase it's strength.
Not wasting any time Jin shunpoed stabbing the ground with his sword, bringing both hands up once more casting the forty-eighth Bakudo, but this time with it's incantation. He was using the remainder of his energy, but he needed to keep this giant subdued. If only for a moment. "I invoke thee, God of punishment, to come forth and hold mine enemy in place so that he may be judged for his sins! Bakudo #48: Tojikomeru" The shadows from the tree were easily enough to send the four chains out to grasp him, whether or not this worked wasn't of concern for Jin. They would, at the very least, provide a decent distraction while he grasped his sword and shot off toward the Arrancar. He shunpoed once more now to the front of the mans body, bringing his sword downward, coating the entire thing with his reiatsu, aiming to use the last of his strength to cut his entire chest open from one hook to another. Should this blow land, Jin's logical next course of action would be to follow up with four more, quick strikes to his arms and legs. He needed to make this bastard bleed. And by this point the vines that started to grow were now aiming to seek his blood, thorns growing and attempting to wrap around his bare skin.

Rudianos, though he did not act as such, was desperate to end the fight. He knew he couldn’t keep pace with the captain, and even if he could, he would easily be picked off by someone of at least moderate power immediately afterwards. It wasn’t that he wasn’t used to drawn-out fights, it was that he wasn’t used to drawn-out fights with opponents so powerful. He had expected such a thing when he began launching his plan to take over Hueco Mundo, but if this was the sort of thing he would have to face, he knew his plans would have to be halted for the time being. But that was not the main concern for him, at that point in time.
Though he did not realise it, in his desperation, Rudianos was hoisting himself on his own petard. Indeed, until Jin stood with the tendril in full view, he had not cottoned on to the fact that he was being led into what would otherwise be an obvious trap. Upon realising that he was being led into a trap, however, his face adopted an expression of anger unrivalled. His eyes burned – as in, they literally looked as if someone had set fire to them. His expression had contorted into something that struck fear into the stoutest hearts. His very aura began to crush any weaklings nearby, friend and foe alike.
Rudianos struggled against the snares he had inadvertently let himself be caught in too busy to notice the chains shooting towards him. And, by the time that he did, it was too late – they were around him, and while he could have attempted to spike his Reiatsu, he was far too busy trying to use his brute strength to free himself. Rage had gotten the better of him – and it was doing him little good. “Soul Reaper!” he bellowed, his voice seeming to shake the ground on which they stood, “I will have your head this day! You will burn and die in agony! I will destroy you!”
Knowing that it was now all-or-nothing, Rudianos prepared one final attack to deal with Jin – the one attack people feared from him. A move that, while simple, had been known to blow holes clean through even the most (supposedly) impervious of defences. A Cero, already highly destructive – but it was compressed into a beam with a width of fifteen centimetres. With that much power focussed on one single, small area, it was little wonder people feared the red glow of a Cero when Rudianos was in his released state. The Omega Cero – a devastating attack, launched at point-blank range, just as Jin was about to plunge his sword into him. This would truly be the deciding moment.
((You're welcome to say whether Rudianos was stabbed or not, and how much. It's dependant on whether the Omega Cero hit or not, and how effective it was.))

Words: 630 Notes: Full fruit. We agreed on this ending, so Jin found the fruit.. Tags: Dead guy He's not an upright Dog But an on all fours dog ! Jin watched as the combination he worked so hard on paid off. The man was strung up like a wild animal, struggling against forces far beyond his control (at least now because he was so weakened from the fight). Jin felt the mans reiatsu peak, but it wasn't anything he wasn't used to. The chains erupted, and the beast of a man was tied down, and strung up; it almost sounded like an oxymoron, but the display was beautiful. His torso and frame help up by Horin, and his arms, and legs held down by blackened chains. Jin knew that this wouldn't be enough for long, but it would be enough for what he wanted to do.
"Hard to believe for a man strung up like a caged animal. Although, I suppose there's not that much of a difference. You'll understand pain shortly you beast. I will carve your name into the tree when I lay the final blow into your gullet." There weren't many times when Jin felt compelled to destroy someone so absolutely. He wanted this man to feel every ounce of pain he dish out. Jin didn't know why felt this way; he knew he wanted to kill the man, for destroying his home, bringing this unnecessary war, and for killing his friend. But to want this man absolutely destroyed, perhaps it was Jin expressing his deepest wildest emotions. Perhaps it was a fantasy so blocked by his psych it was just now coming out in the midst of this battle. He wasn't sure, but he loved it.
Then, as Jin's sword came down from it's intial slash, the feeling of blade entering flesh and bone, Jin noticed the man charging up an attack, this was similar to the omega beam he had flaunted earlier, and Jin was sure an attack from point blank range would be no good. Raising his left hand to his front, Jin noticed something different about this attack. This was no beam, it was a...CERO! Jin's body frantically moved to prepare, he released his blade once more, the blood trickling outward from his hand as he brought his right hand up, placing both forearms parallel to one another as he formed a shield outside of them. "Bakudo #39: Enkosen"
The two shields came up, intercepting the tightly shot beam in the center, but it was just enough to block the majority of the attack. It still managed to break through the rather rushed, and weak shield. Jin becoming enveloped in crimson energy. He hit the ground, bouncing and rolling backwards. There that gloss was again. He was, just like the Arrancar, on his last leg. If this fight continued, even for ten more minutes, Jin would be face down in the dirt, probably dead. He shunpoed, grasping the hilt of his sword that was still lodged into his opponents flesh. Ripping it outward, Jin followed up with three more quick strikes. One final strike to the chest, the blood that splattered the ground around his opponent was awe inspiring, but Jin needed to vanish. He needed to find that fruit.
He shunpoed into the depths of the tree, the foliage giving him cover from his opponent as he searched high and low. It would be beating like a heart, crimson in color and while Jin could sense his own fruit, he wasn't able to track his opponents. Still, it would have that bastards ugly mug. Finding it would just take a matter of time, and with one, two, three more shunpos, there he stood. His eyes watching the beating heart. He grinned wildly, the possibilities were endless. His hand wrapped around the fruit, and with eyes lit up, he could only imagine what he was going to do to the man.

Rudianos refused to make anything more than a pained grunt, even when Jin’s blade cut deep into his flesh, right to the bone. He was an Arrancar, and an Espada at that – he couldn’t just let some Soul Reaper walk all over him. Even if he knew he was practically done for now, he couldn’t just give in. His expression, however, still bore hatred that could not be rivalled - not by any being conceivable by any third-dimensional creature, in any case. He knew that this was practically the end, though – he was too exhausted, and wounded too deeply to continue the fight. He could have ignored his injuries, but given his physical condition and Jin’s abilities, what good would it do?
Rudianos grinned upon seeing that his Cero had practically destroyed Jin. Even if the man had managed to pick himself up off of the floor, both knew that the attack had dealt a massive amount of damage. Enkosen would only block so much, and both had been fighting to the point where it was all-or-nothing. Even when blocked, that Cero looked like it hurt. A lot. But, the attack came at a price – Rudianos would not be able to fight back at all. He would have been able to move about (though not very much), but it would do him little good. The fight was pretty much over.
While Jin may have thought he was doing himself a favour by making Rudianos’ fate supposedly worse, the time it took for him to leave and find his fruit was enough for a ragtag bunch of Arrancar to lift up Rudianos, and take him back to Hueco Mundo to heal up. They were tempted to kill him where he lay – he was, after all, reviled for his evil, even as an Espada. However, orders were orders, and the wrath of their superiors would be far worse than whatever Rudianos had in store for them, for the time being. Before Jin could do anything of importance, they disappeared through a Garganta, to return at a later date. Not before Rudianos muttered something, as smug a grin as he could manage on his face.
“Loser…”

Words: WHDC Notes: so sad. Tags: Dead guy He's not an upright Dog But an on all fours dog ! Jin could feel the reiatsu of some Arrancar showing up. "No!" Jin wanted to run forward, to catch them before they left, but Jin wasn't able to move. His body was locking up, his eyes were closing from the sheer amount of damage he had taken. This wasn't any good, he was going to lose his one chance to take vengeance on that bastard! "No...Dammit no...." Jin's hand rose up, as if he could stop however many Arrancar were taking away his victim. He couldn't do it, he couldn't move his legs. But his arms, he looked at the fruit, eyeing it up. This was the only way.
Jin slowly, gradually brought his hand up to his face. His lips coming into contact with the fruit, but before his teeth could sink into the red fruit, it started to vanish. His bankai, just like the fruit, was vanishing. He was out of strength, and there was no way he could go on, not like this. His body gave out from the tree vanishing, and he fell to the ground. A loud thud, and a crack could be heard. While he didn't let go of Zetsumei, he noticed that the blade was unreleased. Jin didn't feel like he lost, but he was sure that once he awoke, he wouldn't feel the same. He had let a friend die, and he didn't do his job; he let his own hatred get in the way.
Was he even worth the title of captain? He wasn't sure...but he just hoped that Lee-yu could forgive him. As he faded into unconsciousness, Jin watched as four shinigami, all from the fourth division rushed to his side. That was the last thing he saw, before blackness overcame him.
