And the science gets done
And you make a neat gun
Ariella froze in her step when Erin spoke up to her, talking much louder than was necessary. Her ears rang for a moment, and slowly she turned, not looking amused at all by her outburst. Was she really the one yelling here? Ariella was sure if she didn't have such control of herself her eye would be twitching in annoyance. Why did she get into these kinds of things? They only got her in bothersome situations. She should have just killed this girl when she met her.
That attitude changed quickly though. The lieutenant went for Erin, which only made Ariella go into possessive mode. She didn't share her things. As the woman took Erin, Ariella used her own shunpo to go forward, reaching out to take a hold of the lieutenant's wrist to stop her short of where ever she wanted to go exactly. Her expression was cold, and frankly, pissed off as it got. Her eyes were narrowed and she was clearly frowning, showing her disapproval of this. "You wanted to know about Erin, and we came for your little tea party. We've done what you have asked, and that is all we're going to do" she stated plainly in a commanding tone. She was fed up with the nosy woman. "Besides, we only saw that man once, and it had been years since Erin had. What do you think she could possibly know? Think about your sources" she went on to say, not caring that she was openly ridiculing her. The woman's logic didn't make sense. Even if she had been somewhat indifferent towards her, Ariella's research background told her that much.
"As I said, we are leaving" she ordered, just daring the lieutenant to try and stop them. She released the woman's wrist had she gotten her grasp on it, eyeing her own hand that was holding Erin. It was a silent command to let the girl go. Her face lost its expression a moment later, going back to the emotionless one from before. Preparing for everything, as a scientist should, she kept her hand close to the zanpakuto hanging at her side, ready to draw it at any moment. She hardly cared about ranks or poison in that moment. This was about her maybe somewhat reckless stubborness taking over. Nothing could stop that when it came to life. "Let's go Erin" she spoke to the girl, yet she didn't take her eyes off of the lieutenant. Erin was starting to get on her last nerve right along with this other woman, If she looked the girl's way, she probably would have lost her 'cool' face.
