She has soft cerulean eyes and long silky blue hair which she usually leaves down to flow down her back in waves. On her left side she has a loose thick braid twisted into her hair. Her bangs are swept over to the right some, framing over her face. Over her right eye she has a large scar that she acquired during her life as a human during a battle. Her tanned body is very curvy, clearly a woman who was blessed with the features that could draw men in. Her skin appears smooth but it is often covered with some kind of bruise or cut since she just can't seem to stay out of ways to hurt herself. So she has a rather rough look of a warrior despite womanly curves and soft features. She wears a sleeveless, shortened version of a kimono, leaving her legs mostly bare. Around her waist she wears a number of sashes, a soft violet underneath a gray one. On her arms she wears detached black sleeves that slop jut at her knuckles. She wears a pair of thigh high tabi with armor like plates of silver on her shins held on by black ribbon. She wears the uniform sandals. Around her neck she has a turtle neck styled clothe that has two pieces that branch away from it and attach to her sleeves. APPEARANCE BRIEF PERSONALITY GENERAL INFO Know the words I speak are the thoughts I think out loud LIKES: -drinking -luxuries -beaches DISLIKES: -meetings -being cooped up -being alone NEGATIVE TRAITS: -Not above taking something that she might deem "not that expensive that someone will miss it" -She is extremely loud and rumbustious -Reckless POSITIVE TRAITS: -She loves making others happy -Leader -Fun loving EXTRAS: Roxanna acts like a sweet woman. She is kind and always smiling, giving everyone around her a warm feeling. She often goes out of her own way when she sees a down face, throwing her arm around whoever it may be and dragging them off to get a drink to just cheer them up for a bit. She doesn't believe in being depressed. At the same time she is sometimes very unaprroachable. She is loud and not above swinging her sword around without regard. She just wants to have a good time free to do whatever she wants. A bar fight is a paradise for her. She would be happy if every day of her life was a chaotic one. At least it would be exciting. She doesn't like order that much, much rather allowing things to flow as they need to and making up a plan as she goes along. Roxanna often goes off out of work if she hears of something exciting or dangerous. More often than not she comes back with a new bruise or scrape from whatever challenge she happened to find. She never backs down from a dare or challenge though, acting quite fearless. It is nearly impossible for her to become angry, just because she is so laid back and funloving. The only thing that can do such a thing is betrayal. If some one went and ratted out about something to the enemy she would be the first to make sure they paid for it. And if she were double crossed and cheated she would hunt down the traitor for her revenge. WEAPONRY/POWERS TOOLS OF WAR My heads above the water as they drown in the undertow WEAPONS:-- ZANPAKUTO: name:Umi no nokemono ((Beast of the Sea) SHIKAI: release command: Kakikesu (drown) OTHER AND ALL THE REST Not afraid of anything I've got the whole world in front of me HISTORY: As soon as Roxanna was born she was no stranger to death. Her mother hadn't handled her pregnancy well and during childbirth her weaken, worn out body gave in and she was taken away from the small child before she even had a chance to be held in her mother's weak embrace. Her father suddenly found himself by himself with the fragile, young life and not a clue of what to do. There was only so much he could do. He was a fisherman by trade and would often have to be out for days before returning to the coast. He couldn't possibly take such a small child out to sea with him. Luckily his mother stepped in, caring for the girl as best as she could at her age of 44 which was pushing for the time and living conditions for England at the time. Two years later though she passed, leaving Roxanna's father again alone to care for his daughter. There was no helping it now. The very next trip he took out to sea, he had no choice but to bring Roxanna with him. Being out on the free ocean at such a young age had its impact on the girl. By the time she was 6 she already knew ships better than most men that had been around them for years. She was fascinated. She loved her trips with her father, breathing in the fresh air, feeling the wind in her hair, having the familiar filth of salt as another layer of skin, sleeping under the starts on a gently rocking boat. It was more than she could ever ask for. The waters weren't always so smooth though. When she was 14 she was out on another trip with her father. They had heard reports of bad skies o=off shore from those coming of incoming ships. Of course her father bragged that he had nothing to worry about. He had the best first mate anyone could ask for. Roxanna. With their pride swelled they headed out only to find that they should have listened. The storm was a raging one. The waves crashed all around them. The winds blew madly and the rain poured down so heavily it was impossible to see more than a foot. Roxanna heard her father call out to her but she couldn't find him. Suddenly another wave smashed into the side of their small ship and something grabbed a hold of her. Looking down Roxanna saw her father clinging to her arm, nearly being swept away by the rushing water. She turned immediately trying to keep her hold on him before he was washed right over the edge of the ship. Unfortunately the rain had slicked up everything. She couldn't hold on. Her father slipped form her grasp and the last she saw of him was his screaming form as it was carried away by another rush of water. She didn't even here his cries, thunder crashing all around her. Death had greeted her again. Taking what family she had left. Roxanna spent the next night clinging to the railing of the ship until the storm died down. She was exhausted, filthy, and starving. Most everything had gotten washed away. She had no idea where she was. She had no clue of what time it was or what direction was which. There was no land in sight for reference. She was lost out at sea without a single resource. She was near positive death was coming for her next. She wasn't going to make it easy. Not at all. With what remained of the ship, she set sail, using every trick she had learned and every bit of strength she had to sail. And she did so for another day and night. Then she reached her limit. Her eyes could barely stay open any more. The ships sail's had met their match and had been shredded. She was a sitting duck. There wasn't a thing she could do but try to enjoy her last moments. Almost served up on a silver platter though, she happened to look up and see an approaching ship. It was heading right her way. With a new determination she forced herself to stand, flailing her arms over her head. They had to notice her. And so they did. In no time the ship has reached her and Roxanna paled in horror. It was not the rescuing navy ship she had expected to see. It was pirates. They latched onto her beaten and abused ship, No time was wasted in ransacking the poor battered vessel only to find nothing on it. Deeming it unworthy the men that had boarded grabbed Roxanna before leaving the vessel to its destruction. Now she was definitely going to be killed. How much she had wished she could have died peacefully on her own boat instead though. It was better than meeting the abuse of pirates. She was again surprised though. She was met with hospitality. In fact not many on board the ship seemed to be much older than herself. What kind of pirates were these? As it turned out they were just like her. They had been abandoned or lost out at sea, clinging to life only to be found and rescued. It was only natural for them to stay and become crew of their savior. And that Savior was someone Roxanna felt herself becoming especially close to. His name was Leith. He was four years older than her but almost immediately the both of them could tell the bond they held was to be one different than just everyone else in their ragtag crew. He was just as loud and reckless as she was. He shared the same dreams of sailing around the world time and time over just because it was possible. They could be out at sea every day of their lives together and not one of them would utter a complaint. Of course good times couldn't last forever. Pirates were being brought to an end by the navy as well as other pirates and despite their prior victories. And there were always those among them who could easily be bribed to give them up. It was only a matter of time before the tragedy struck. They didn't even know what had hit them. It was late at night. Most of the crew was sleeping across the ship wherever they could find a place to curl up for a good snore. It was Roxanna and Leith left to sit upon the deck, looking up at the stars without a care of the world in the dead darkness of night. Suddenly there was the blasting roar of a cannon, the ship rocking violently as wood chips flew across the ship. Everyone was awaked at that. It was too late though. Some didn't have the time to even draw their swords before they were cut down. Others were lost as they were outnumbered. Roxanna fought with all the passion she had and surprisingly enough stood her ground. She and those who had managed to scrap their way out of being killed managed to kill enough to make them fall back. Now they just needed to flee. And so they did. Their ship was a lighter one, built for speed which allowed them to escape the cannon fire that would sure end them otherwise. The crew that remained was ecstatic. Before anything they had popped open a drink (what did they care about legal ages?) and practically had three bottles of whatever alcohol had survived downed in a good twenty minutes. Then it hit them all as they looked around. They had just lost some of their best friends. A majority of them were dead. In fact...looking around those that had gathered...Roxanna didn't see...no! With fear written across her face, she rushed across the deck covered in blood and flesh to where she had left their beloved captain. When she found him she couldn't help her scream. He hadn't even lived long enough to see the battle which his crew had to face on their own. A piece of wooden shrapnel had pierced into his chest, digging right into his heart. Roxanna hadn't even noticed when she had gotten up to fight the enemy off. She had thought she would finally be happy but it seemed death wasn't done with her just yet. She was left with two scars after that night. The first was of course the ever present aching within her chest. The other was a jagged scar over her right eye she had been far too drunk on adrenaline, and well alcohol, to notice until someone sober enough to see pointed it out to her. With nothing left to hold the dwindling crew together, they went their own way, save for a few that stayed right at Roxanna's side. They were all set on finding those men that had taken everything from them. There was one slight problem though. They were never exactly the richest crew and the damages to their ship took up what they had saved up. They weren't going to be able to do anything for quite some time. At least it seemed that way. Then the perfect opportunity showed itself. England was recruiting more privateers. They would get paid to go out and do what they always had. And who was to say that taking down a band of nation rebelling pirates wasn't in the job description? It was exactly what they small group needed to get their vengeance and riches. However when they presented themselves to the local navy it seemed they noticed another little problem they had. They were a bunch of horrible looking kids. Even worse they were led by a 16 year old girl. They hardly looked like anything that would serve much purpose to anyone except maybe some poor bait. They were instantly rejected and it was no shocker to anyone the reasons that were behind their denial. Roxanna wasn't just going to take that sitting down though. She was someone who always followed through. She stood up for what she wanted and believed in. These stuck up men in pretty uniforms weren't about to stop her. ` Her choice for a way to stand up was a questionable, risky one though. She challenged the Commander of the fleets to a sword duel. If she were to be defeated she would leave behind what money and valuables the crew had saved up and never show her face again. However if she won, these men were going to give her what she wanted. The men saw this as an easy way to make a little extra cash. Oddly enough Roxanna's crew was right behind her, supporting her without a doubt in the world that she would ever lose. And their belief was justified. The small battle lasted no more than thirty seconds. In those quick seconds Roxanna had disarmed her opponent and knocked him back onto his back, her cutlass pressed firmly to his throat with a look of pride so obvious on her rough face. She wasn't one to be doubted. Though sickened to have lost a bet to such a gruff looking crew, the commander couldn't help but to see that maybe something worthwhile really had stumbled his way. Roxanna and her boys were supplied a new ship, stocked to the brim with supplies. They were given new uniforms (Though really none were fond of wearing them so they normally just wore what they had). They were also given a first payment of their salary. They were free to do whatever they wanted so long as the always collected for England. Not that it was a hard job. Spanish Treasure ships were everywhere at sea, stocked high with fresh gold and silver coins. They just had to win, which they did. The more Spanish ships they took down the more favor and finances Roxanna and her growing crew received. Soon she had become one of the go-to captains were there a large shipment being planned. She was rising to the top. She was drowned in wealth she never thought she would ever have. Her friends were still at her side. Not a single one of them had perished during their near countless battles over the years. They still had something they all needed to do together. Years had passed. Roxanna was getting close to her 25th birthday and still their original goal had not been realized. They had heard leads based on the flag some of them had seen flying on the other ship, but no matter what they just couldn't track them down in the free time they had. With strength came an ever growing schedule. It seemed hopeless anymore. It was more than likely that they had already been wiped out. It had been sometime since they had last gotten any intelligence. They were ready to give up. It had been eight long years. Sometimes one just needed to know when to give up. Roxanna never gave up though. Never. And almost as soon as she had begun to consider it seemed heaven was finally deciding to turn the world in her favor. She arose one morning, sensing that it was like any other. As she rose from her quarters, stepping out onto the deck, she spotted a ship out in the distance. Grabbing her telescope she curiously investigated it. What she saw made her blood run cold. It flew the flag of Britain. Just below that though, she could see the flag she remembered seeing on that night eight years before. They were right in front of them. She didn't care if the British flag was flying. The men she had been searching for were right in front of her. She didn't care about the consequences. She roused the crew quickly, instructing them to take up arms. She used the excuse that they had come upon traitors of Britain, a clear lie, but it didn't matter. The men rose in seconds, preparing for the battle that would take place in just moments. In the midst of preparations, Roxanna pulled her original crew aside, explaining to them what she had seen and what they were going to do. They were finally going to make those men pay for robbing them of their happiness. They were all filled with new hope and joy. Roxanna could see something she hadn't seen in some time. Pure childish excitement. It was what she had been craving too see from them. No time was wasted in the bombardment of their upcoming target. Cries of battle echoed from the ship. It was clear they had the upper end and could simply use their cannons to send the ship to the bottom of the ocean. That wasn't what Roxanna wanted though. She wanted to see the men that had corrupted the peace and taken so much from her. Raging with joy and adrenaline, the crew boarded the other ship, cutting down those traitors. There was one person in general that Roxanna was after herself. She had heard he remained with this crew after the attack eight years before. The person that had given up exactly where they would be and exactly what they had. And she found him. She found him cowering in a corner of the deck, recognizing his old friends. When he laid his wide, buggy eyes on Roxanna it was clear what fate awaited him. She didn't make the slightest hesitations as he begged for his life, cutting across his throat with no regret on her scarred face. There was one more person she had to take care of first. Lucky for her he showed himself. The captain of ship was there the moment she turned around, set on cutting her down before this could go any further. It was too bad for him that Roxanna held such skill in the sword though. He was lying at her feet, bleeding out before only a moment before she yelled out in victory. With nothing more to do she dropped her sword, a pure smile clear on her face. She had done what she had set out to do from the beginning. She was absolutely content like this. However it seemed the rest of the crews were all too caught up in the ongoing battle to realize much of anything that had happened. Up from behind her a member of the opposing crew came down with his sword, piercing through her back in just the right spot to plunge into her heart. With a choked out cough of blood she plummeted to the deck, landing with a thud on the wood as the man who had cut her down ran over her to finish his job. She turned her head enough to look up to the night sky that had settled above them, still not a trace of fear or regret on her face. And that was the last thing she saw before slipping into darkness and meeting death head on. Afterlife When Roxanna next saw anything she was within the Soul Society. She also found herself amongst a crowd that seemed to have some faces that looked familiar. Oddly enough she couldn’t think of a name to put with any one of them. Still though she had never been considered shy before, that wasn’t going to change now just She approached them in in the matter of half an hour they had teamed up and taken down a group of men in a bar fight, making an oath the stick together from that point on as they were kicked out by the owner. They became close fast, running around in their afterlife with nota care in the world. Roxanna even found herself with a fluttering heart when around a certain one of them, a certain one named Lieth. Though their happiness could only last for so long. They might have done okay but life was hard. IT was a miracle they got by. It was then they made the unanimous decision to enter the Shinigami Academy. Roxanna and Leith found themselves amongst the elite, training with the best and being the best among them. It was during a training exercise in their last year that tragedy struck. Something had gone terribly wrong and the two found themselves separated from the rest of their group. With horrible timing, a massive hollow appeared before them. They tried to do what they could and for a while it seemed like they had a chance. Back up had signaled they were coming and for the time being they were somehow still okay. When their back up arrived they managed to cut the hollow down, having a bit of gloating to follow. Then they noticed the stench of blood and the lack of a spiritual pressure they had grown far too used to to initially not notice its absence. Somewhere in the confusion of the attack Leith had been slaughtered by the hollow they had just killed. Roxanna returned to the Soul Society with new determination, telling the news to their friends who somehow became all that much better in their classes. Together they graduated, entering the Gotei 13. From there they were split up into squads but even then found themselves fighting together rather than bickering like most people in different squads did. A number of them were lost before Roxanna’s eyes but it only seemed to drive them even more. This fact was taken notice of and in time she was offered the place of lieutenant of squad 8 by the captain who had recently taken his own position. Tenka wasn't her captain for long though. Following the arrancar invasion of the soul society he vanished. Roxanna was left to tend to her squad until a new captain could be found. It didn't take long. Following that though Roxanna was met with a surprise. She was transfered to be the lieutenant of squad one.
