Yamamoto's right foot landed firmly facing Zelena with his left foot following. The flaming zanpakto continued to spew flames prepared to consume any and all of the spiritual beings in the First Division Captain's office. The blade had landed, but to basically no avail save the small scratch which made the attack a miss in the aged Captain's eyes. Ryujin Jakka's feared flames had been fanned off with the woman's irregularly high reiatsu to where even the room still stood despite the fate Yamamoto pronounced on it when he decided to use his shikai.
His eyes landed on Zelena as she spoke because she gave him useful information: she did not have her zanpakto. Now the small scratch had meaning. She may have enough mastery over her zanpakto to fight back, but, for now, she had to rely on dodging instead of parrying. This gave Yamamoto the advantage because, if he landed a scratch in his initial attack, he must have had a speed advantage. With enough persistence, he would land at least one devastating blow.
The rest of her threats about bringing an attack to Soul Society did not phase him. He spoke over her to his lieutenant, after the male arrancar cowardly escaped the office, in his commanding tone, "Hotaru fukutaicho, see to it that all captains and lieutenants are prepared to receive our visitors. Announce that we are in a state of war and all enemies should be removed immediately. And get out of here so I don't have to fight with a handicap." With that, he felt his lieutenants presence exit. He did not see if she nodded or made a face or anything; he starred too intently at the ruler of the Espada before him.
Zelena continued to speak of how he fought dirty and how he had no reason to attack. "Gotei Juusan has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to arrancar. There are very few exceptions on what invaders may keep their lives when they step into our area, but those decisions are made before the enemies enter. You bypassed the procedures so you will meet your fate today." Yamamoto gripped the hilt of Ryujin Jakka with both of his hands and brought it to a horizontal. One of the reasons the Head Captain's name raised fear in his enemies came from how deftly he handled the blade which cut down so many spiritual beings in the past.
In his mind, he could make near-perfect analysis on how to deal with a foe just by looking at them, but this woman could possibly hold her ground against him without her zanpakto so he had to have some caution. To gain more information, Yamamoto charged rapidly to close the small gap between the two and while allowing Ryujin Jakka to blaze to where his arms and upper chest hid behind the flames. Once he stood at about two feet from her, he rotated his body to make it seem like he had sent his zanpakto at her already.
He waited just enough for her to dodge then took a near-shunpo speed step closer to wherever she landed and slashed his blade in a horizontal slice toward her mid-torso. If she used sonido to move away or did not doge, he would still attack in the same way, but Yamamoto would put more energy into his attack so, if his blade could not land, his flames could sprawl out and hit their target. During this whole attacking sequence, he pushed reiryoku into his zanpakto so if the Espada Lord tried to disperse his flames to avoid getting burned or to get a better view of the shinigami, she would have to use more than her powerful reiatsu to be successful.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, height: 200px; width: 480px; background-color: #000000;][atrb=valign,top] The calm before the storm is nearing... Zelena didn’t appreciate being ignored like she had been, it was almost as if he didn’t think she and her army could be a threat to him and that was a little insulting. Oh well, they would just have to prove themselves a threat by crushing them completely. As Yamamoto droned on in his reply Zelena looked bored, she was barely listening at this point; if they were just going to fight then continuing the conversation would be pointless. While he finished his speech Zelena concentrated her reiryoku on one task, calling forth her zanpakuto, it was obvious that Raijin wouldn’t be back in time and even more so that she wasn’t going to be able to reach it herself, so she would have to summon it to her side. It was a part of her after all, nothing but her raw energy in blade form, so naturally she would be able to summon it forth should she need to. It’s not like she was thinking herself incapable without it, but it would most certainly help.
It was just as Yamamoto charged that a small garganta opened at her side, hovering inside was Zelena’s sheathed zanpakuto which she quickly grabbed and unsheathed. Seeing that he had already brought his weapon down toward her, or at least that was what she thought, she raised her weapon in kind to block but was surprised when she met nothing. It was a fake out, and she had fallen for it, pathetic. She felt his blade tear into her skin beneath the clothing which was becoming singed by the close proximity to his flames, she herself didn’t seem to flinch at the roaring fire shielding the Head Captain, perhaps because she was used to high temperatures, or perhaps just because she never showed her opponent any signs of fear to take advantage of. Before the blade could complete its attack Zelena sonido-jumped a couple of feet behind to prevent the rest of the damage the wound could cause, still wearing a stone cold expression.
”I was counting on not using this until later on in our battle, but why should I show you any form of mercy when you won’t reciprocate?” Obviously a rhetorical question, she really would have preferred saving her resurreccion forum for later in the fight but some things can’t be helped. Another powerful reiatsu spike signaled something was happening, quite obviously the release of her zanpakuto as she had hinted at it when she spoke. “Demolish, Diabolus.” It was calmly spoken but loud enough to be heard, and as soon as the words left her lips she became engulfed in a blood red light. The powerful spike of reiatsu was possibly strong enough to blow a few things around the room or maybe even blast a hole in the wall of the office they were fighting in. When the light faded away Zelena’s appearance was left unaltered for the most part, aside from the wings which she now sported, the absences of her boots and the change in color of her hollow mask, though these were only the visible changes her nails had grown also; her weapon had changed from a katana into a black trident with blood red tips, two charms dangled on the end but the one of importance was the red pentagram and should be the main focus on his part.
Without saying another word Zelena sonido’d forward towards the fire clad head captain, her trident outstretched as she was lunging towards him with the intent to pierce him, she seemed faster as she moved which could prove difficult, it would make it harder for her attack to be dodged. She was aiming for his chest, looking to do some heavy damage as she had thrown all of her strength into launching that attack. She seemed even less phased by his flames now, a normal person and perhaps even one of her Espada might feel frightened by this grand display but she blew it off as if it was nothing, as if she’d seen and dealt with his power a hundred times but that wasn’t possible since they had only just met. If her attack landed, like she was expecting it to, then she would rip the trident across his flesh after digging the tips in as deeply as she could manage, creating large puncture wounds as well as deep gashes along the old man’s chest. If he somehow managed to avoid her attack well, she was certain she could take whatever was coming her way after; she had the option of flight to evade any attacks and a boost in speed as well. She was confident, however, that she would land the desired blow.

The hat trick worked and Yamamoto landed a good blow, for what it was worth. The fiery, searing blade slid into the woman's body, singeing a hole in her abdomen area. Had she not moved out as quickly as she did, the blade could probably have burned most of her vital organs. This confidence in her strength showed Yamamoto she knew she could wield her zanpakto well. Her statements proceeding the stab foreshadowed something which would underscore the blow and the analysis the Captain Commander just made about her fighting style. The arrancar woman decided she would claim the upper hand however possible. She recited her short and simple ressurection phrase, which Yamamoto paid attention to closely, since it would possibly give him a hint to the woman's abilities. The already burning office was suddenly filled with a powerful blood red light. The strength of the reiatsu coming from this column could easily make anyone believe it was a cero. The light blasted right through the office's roof consuming the wood, cement, marble, and all leaving the office exposed to its surroundings. The floor beneath their feet creaked and groaned from the unprecedented force the light brought with it. The great Captain Commander generally took the fight to the enemies or defeated his opponents swiftly, but the power emanating merely from the release of the Arrancar's zanpakto delivered the ominous message that Gotei 13, and even Yamamoto himself, stood in great danger. The light cleared off and the dust settled revealing the visage of the Arrancar's most powerful and readily attainable form. Her appearance made Yamamoto grip his zanpakto tighter knowing he would need to fight with as much of himself as he could give. Death could not be an option, considering the state Gotei 13 was in now. Once the woman finished her transformation, she immediately charged at the captain. Surprisingly, he kept a grip on the situation. Whether he had fear or whether he remained calm did not matter since the woman whom was at his ropes now tied a hangman's noose around the Captain's neck. Two years after his failure to defeat Aizen, he had to come through this time and win. He patiently waited for her to approach. Once she was close enough, he moved his zanpakto to his left side and relaxed the amount of flames his zanpakto released. Looking intently at the trident's form, he uttered, "Ryodan." With this he slammed the zanpakto right into one of the trident's valleys. The zanpakto rose with a fiery trail and with a force strong enough to tear through even the strongest hierro. Despite the strength of the attack, the arrancar's strength and speed combined dragged the shinigami and the flashing sword along the office.
Thinking quickly and purely off of instinct acquired through battle experience, Yamamoto forced Ryujin Jakka to explode with a great amount of flames once Yamamoto slipped off the edge with Zelena. The explosive force of the fire shot Yamamoto directly to the ground below him in an instant, avoiding too much air time. The last thing he wanted to do was have an air battle with someone who has wings. Yamamoto landed firmly on his feet allowing his old, yet resistant knees to absorb most of the shock. Knowing she would eventually come down to fight him, he preemptively attacked at full power. "Taimatsu!" he yelled while he swung his zanpakto at high speed, with both hands and full strength, sending a wave of the most powerful and consuming fire he could use in shikai up toward the woman. Because of her movement speed and the speed of the attack, she would probably have to move a considerable amount upward to avoid the blanket of fire that rose to her. This would give Yamamoto enough time to gain his stability and continue with the fight. If the attack landed, though, the woman would sustain very heavy burns.
