For: Hollow power
Name: Exsanguinate
Type: Offensive technique
Cost: Moderate
Range: Long
Description: From the user's palm, a crescent-shaped arc of blood is fired towards an enemy; this crescent reaches a maximum height of nine feet, but has almost no horizontal width. This crimson crescent travels at a high speed forward under high pressure in a manner similar to a jet stream, slicing through solid objects. Upon striking a foe this attack inflicts a very sharp, clean cut, which causes bleeding. Only one crescent can be fired per every two posst, however, and in the process of firing the user's hand is cut.
For: Hollow power
Name: Bloodlust
Type: Non-offensive; Sensory function
Cost: Low
Range: Approximately two hundred and thirty feet; sensory is clearest within the first hundred feet, and gradually becomes less precise beyond this range until going blank.
Description: Auberon faces a sight based difficulty. As an Avian Hollow, he has difficulty seeing in darkness, much like an actual bird; his ability to see in bright light is uncanny and precise, not unlike the flying animal he represents, but darkness blinds him more easily than it would your usual Hollow. This brutal instinctive technique, however, allows Auberon to super-cede this weakness by sensing the raw presence of life essence in the form of blood around him. Within the range of this technique, Auberon senses all living beings around him as well as their directions and locations, and even movement; he hears the beating of their hearts, and smells even the smallest drop of blood shed from them with pungent accuracy. This betrays his apparent frailty by giving him exceptional awareness of enemies in melee range, allowing Auberon to 'feel' the life quivering in the bodies of his prey as he rips it from them.
For: Hollow power
Name: Sanguine Stitcher
Type: Minor repair technique
Cost: Low to moderate, less effective on major injuries
Range: Requires physical contact to use on another; apart from that, works only on self.
Description: Dabbling in the manipulation of flesh is just a step away from Auberon's natural blood powers, but it's actually exceptionally difficult and really hard to do, so much so that the only thing Auberon can do is re-attach flesh as well as mend it. From either his fingers or an open wound, Auberon may spawn crimson red threads of blood infused with thick reiatsu, both of which are used to literally sew up wounds like thread. But once the sewing is complete, any flesh sewn together is forcibly merged by this power, sealing gashes and cuts with apparent ease. The only catch is that jagged stitch shaped scars are left behind where any sanguine stitching is done, and a portion of the damage inflicted usually remains unless it was really minor and non-threatening entirely. This can allow muscles and rent flesh to be useful again, though not to their full capacity prior to being severed, and is pretty fast and efficient - but again, this is not true nor complete healing, it simply stops bleeding and makes flesh usable again if used for repair. Interestingly enough however, this can be used to maim and torture sufficiently weakened enemies by merging flesh where it should not be merged... say, by doing something like sanguine stitching an enemy's arm into their rib cage. But this would require the enemy to be subdued and unable to resist for a good five seconds or so, and would be easily nullified by an enemy with stronger reiatsu simply by blasting away the threads with a flare of their own reiatsu before the demented surgery can be completed. Not really effective for killing foes, the extreme pain inflicted by the act of sanguine stitcher is however exceptionally effective for interrogation and causing sheer pain without fatality. Only one stitching attempt can be made per post, and each attempt takes one post to successfully complete.
Sanguine stitcher requires a bit more delicate focus to be used on the user during battle, thus it cannot be used "in the middle of a fight" to heal the user, but may be used offensively.
For: Hollow Power
Name: Crimson Chrysalis
Type: Defensive technique
Cost: Moderate; cost increases depending on how strong the attack it is defending against is
Range: Self
Description: While active, this technique assumes the form of a layer of blood calmly coating Auberon's body of feathers and scales, making him appear bright red and wet. It does not use much energy when dormant like this... however, before an attack strikes Auberon, it will glow with red reiatsu around the area about to be struck. Any attacks which strike the surface of the blood encounter a sudden and heavy layer of resistance, as if one attempted to slice through a slab of ice, because the blood becomes solid by self-pressurization. Furthermore a flash of red energy emits in a crude release from the area struck, which can deflect weak attacks as well as soften the damage that would have been inflicted by a reiatsu based attack. This effect is called 'Repercursion' (Spanish for consequence). It is best summarized as energy opposing an incoming attack being blasted out towards it in an attempt to halt, deflect, or lessen an approaching force. Neither the blood layer nor the repercursion flash can halt the attacks of those who are more powerful than Auberon, however, as the defensive capabilities of this versatile but limited means of self protection can only go so far.
Repercursion cooldown: 3 posts after usage, charges up slowly. The blood armor can be destabilized by a large number of attacks at once if they are of sufficient strength, making it less effective against flurries of attacks and more intended for defense against singular blows.
