It had been a while since she had seen Captain Kakashei Haruko. She respected the Captain, he was loyal, smart and powerful, though not on her level. She had buisness with the Captain, rather, needed to drop of some documents that needed the attention of the Squad Five Captain. Mostly recruiting papers and applications on unseated officers, also a some new patrol routes. She had originally been annoyed that these had came to her first instead of going to the right place first time around. She rolled her eyes, the message delivery was good sure, but slipped up more times than it should. How the hell does Bonten expect us to do are jobs if are messages are not even delivered to correct place. Anyways, on the bright side, she got to get some sort of exercise which she was not complaining about. Who knew, maybe Kakashei would be up for a spar of sorts, perhaps she could teach him a few things. That she did or would not mind, she had finished her paper work for today, and as soon as she delivered these off to Kakashei, she had an entire afternoon free to do what ever she liked. She reached the entrance to the squads barracks, nodding in greeting to the stationed guards. She did not bother asking where Kakashei was, she could sense his spiritual pressure and as such, made a beeline for him. It seemed he was in his office, not that it really mattered. She opened the door to his office, not bothering to knock, she was a Captain, she had no need to. She offered a nod in his direction before walking to his desk and dropping the sizable stack of papers on it. These are for you, they somehow managed to end up in my paper work for some reasons. With that she turned and walked over to a chair, taking a seat, resting her feet on the edge of his desk. It has been a while, huh Kakashei. How have you been? |
She decided to go with small talk for the time being, she was sure Kakashei would be more than willing to converse with her, if not, well, she did not know. [/div]

He was stuck at his desk, to do paper work. Sighing, he really loathed doing paper work, it always cramp his hand. It also tended to test his patience, which caused him to take voluntary breaks every once and a while. When it came to a job such as this, a break was good, it allowed him to rest a bit and focus more when he returned to work. It also allowed him to rest his hand or eat a snack, he didn't really have a lot of time to simply do as he pleased, not on days such as these.
It had been a good six hours now, at least since he started his paper work. He had taken about three breaks since then, and it was almost time for his next break. He tended to get bored easily when it came to this, he would much rather be somewhere else, resting or training. Kakashei had only hope that something or someone could intervene and give him a reason to relax.
Luckily for him, that reason sure did come. Looking towards the front doors of his barracks, he questioned why the person didn't knock. He then saw that it was another captain, which soon explained why. The captain in question just so happen to had been Caanan, a old friend of his. She was one of the veteran captains, so she was far more stronger than himself. He questioned what brought her here, did she wanted to chat? Or was this more on the buisness side? Nevertheless, he was just happy to have a reason to not do his work.
"Ah, thank you. The messengers really need to get their eads out of the clouds." he commented as he pick up the package she place on his desk. Looking through it, he sighed a bit before setting it aside. His attention had turned to the captain, who had sat down before him. It seems she had came for both small talk and buisness, which was fine with him, it had been a while since they've spoken. "Nice to see you as well, Caanan. How long has it been? We've been so busy, its been hard to socialize at all these past few days or has it been weeks? Nevertheless, it is good to see you." he rambled a bit before remembering her question. "I've been well, drowned in paper work, but fine. how have you been?" he asked while sitting back in his chair.

She nodded nonetheless when he told her that he has been well but drowned in paper work, as have most Captains, not that she cared, she was probably one of the few who enjoyed it. "That is good to know and to hear. I have been pretty well, it was somewhat annoying that the Espada decided to invade whilst I was away. From what I hear there Queen is dead, along with are previous head Captain, not to mention losing the previous Captain of Squad 13. Not really what I would call a flawless victory." She was equally annoyed that she had missed the battle, but as it were, she had other things to be doing and unfortunately they were priority. She got up from her chair and began to walk around his office, clearly bored. "It baffles me somewhat though, it is clear that the Espada, for now anyway will be leaderless, if anything a gap in power has been created and many will move to fill it. I do not see why we do not simply advance to their territory and wipe the floor with them." She pivoted and faced Kakashei, then sighed, scratching her forehead. She had not come here to ramble on what she believed should be done, if anything she wanted to relax and maybe spar with an old time friend. "Perhaps we could Spar Kakashei? I want to see if you have gotten any better, plus there is not much else to do other than ramble and discuss what should and should not happen."With that she pivoted on her heel and made a beeline for the courtyard of the barracks, it was a large open space and more than suitable for an easy, relaxing spar. She felt no need to go out and get all serious on Kakashei. She did not bother to look behind her to know Kakashei was their. "I hear you had a rather nasty encounter with an human while you were in the human world, do you wish to tell me about it? Reports say, it was a regular human, that does not sound right." She drew her zanpakuto as they entered the courtyard.

When the other captain spoke of the events that occured not long ago, Kakashei look back to that day. He was ordered to stay in the Seiretei and guard just in case a espada entered and tried to reak havoc. He wasn't exactly happy about that, he reallly had wanted to join the frontlines as well. But most of the captains were much stronger than himself, he was a new captain and all. But it would of been a bit more interesting to test the espadas skill, from what he heard they were rather dangerous.
"Yes, it was a very surprisig event. I hadn't expect it to occur. I was ordered to guard the Seiretei, so I wasn't able to see the battle from the front lines. It was a shame to, I really had wanted to test the skills of the espada. Oh well. I was surprised by the choice for the new Head Captain. I haven't really heard of him before, but apparently he was rather powerful. As for the espada, I hope its termoil down there. It would be nice to hear that they're down there killing each other." he commented as his gaze shifted to his desk.
It was at that time that Canaan had began pacing around his office. Lookig up to her, his hand raised to his chin as he wondered what she was thinking. Her next few words was a bit surprising, she wanted to spar. That is not something he look forward to, she was one of the many powerful captains in the Gotei. Hell, he would say that he was probably the weakest of the captains right now. But a spar would be interesting, it at least would be fun. "Sounds fun." he commented as the captain step out of the office. Standing from his chair, he put on his captains haori and place his zanpakuto back on his hip. It was time for a fight, he guessed. Pacing to the center of the courtyard, eyeing Canaan a serious expression formed as he motioned for her to come

It never surprised her, she knew while Kakashei was by no means the strongest Captain, but regardless of that fact he never seemed to back down from a threat nor challenged, something Canaan liked to see. Still, it was not in Canaan to go all out on him in a spar, that would be pointless and serve no purpose at all. If anything, she was planning to take it easier, get into the sparing mood, then perhaps she would turn things up a notch. Keep Kakashei on his toes. She rushed Kakashei, not bothering to use Shunpo to close the distance, there was no point for it. When she reached striking distance, she swung her sword in an sidewards slash, aiming for the Captains vulnerable sides. She did not attack with full speed nor force, instead matching what she assumed to be his level. She always enjoyed sparing with other Captains, it thrilled her even more than some fights she had had in the human world, especially when it happened to be a Captain of her own level. When her sword clashed against his own she smiled and span on her right heel, using the momentum to swing herself in the opposite direction, pushing her blade of his own. She intended to attack his other side, wanting to see just how quick Kakashei could move under pressure. For that very reason, she increased her speed a little, wanting to see if she could catch the Captain off guard so easily. She doubted that she would have been able to, if anything, she assumed Kakashei would shunpo away from any immediate danger. Regardless, Canaan intended to hold his blade in lock with her own if he managed to block her second attack, if Kakashei had managed to shunpo away, she would merely turn to face his him. She wanted to discuss something with him while they sparred. Again, for the sole purpose of testing his focus, if he could maintain an conversation whilst fending off her attacks, she would be impressed. "Not bad Kakashei. I wonder, did you know the original Captain of Squad 13? I can not seem to remember his name."She played dumb of course, she had know Lucien. She had detested the man, he was nothing more than an arrogant brat and she figured he bit of more than he could chew with an Espada and died for it. For that, she held no sympathy, arrogance got you killed, no matter how powerful you happened to be. While thinking this, she had already launched herself back at Kakashei, changing her method of attack. She no longer aimed for his sides, if anything she made for a full frontal assault. When she was within striking distance, she unleashed a barrage of five strikes. They were simple and lacked any real precision, in fact, the way she was currently swinging reminded her of how Lucien had done so with that ridiculous Nodachi. With that last strike, she would again attempt to lock blades with him and test his stance and strength. She would gradually push against his blade, forcing him to move back. She also decided to distract him with conversation seeing as at this time, focus was key. "You were not friends with him, were you? Perhaps if you were on the front lines you may have been able to knock some sense into that over sized head of his." While it sounded as though she was mocking the now deceased Captain, she was not. She had rarely seen Kakashei, so much so that she had no idea who he considered as his friends, not that it really mattered.

Kakashei watch as the captain soon rush him, she wasn't as fast as he remembered, so she must of been holding back. Narrowing his gaze a bit, he turned serious as he unsheathed his zanpakuto and manuvered it to parry the female's slash. "Yeah, she's definitely holding back." he commented in thought as he wasn't very happy. But since it was a spar, he decided to let it go for now. He could easily force her to show him her true speed and strenght. It was not as if he wasn't prepared to lose or deal with it. "To your earlier question, I did deal with a human not long ago. A female who prowess rivaled my own, until I used my bankai of course. Apparently there is a faction filled with them, all powerful. You should watch your back in the future." he warned with a slight smirk.
Watching as she switch her attack patterns and entered into a quick turn. Kakashei quickly acted by bringing back his right foot and side. With his right hand, he quickly brought over his blade, manuvering it to parry her blade once more. Of course he stumbled back a bit, but manage to hold his footing. "Lucien? i've heard of him and seen him around a few times, but no, I wasn't close with him. I do remember another captain, Jin, going out onto the battlefield to assist the now deceased captain. I'm guessing his help didn't do much." he responded while pushing forward to gain leverage. It allowed him to jump back, which put distance between them.
Rotating his wrist, it was slightly tweaked a bit when they clashed the second time. Tilting his head a bit, he listened as the captain once again spoke of Lucien. Apparently she was closer with him than himself. He agreed though, he should of let a more powerful captain deal with the primera. But pride can lead you to do stupid things at times, plus you at least have to admire his courage. In the same situation, Kakashei would of faught him as well. simply because it was his job.
Looking forward, Canaan had already charged forward once more. Stepping back with his right this time, he was more grounded for her next attack. Watching her send her first slash, he could tell that it was a consectutive type attack, which is why he took precaution. Parrying the blades, he motioned back, keeping himself grounded each time their blades clashed. When the last came, it sort of reminded him of the human he fought. It was uncanning. Their blades lock a last time as he step forward to push her blade out of the way and send her on her backside. "You and that human could be soul mates. You fight the same." he commented with a smirk.
