sex: Female | sexual orientation: Bi-curious | race: Quincy NAME PRONUNCIATION:Soo-ray-lee-uh; roll the ‘r’. Or, if you’re lazy: Ser-ray-lee-uh ALIASES: Surǽlia Mora da Bretagna, Mora, Momo, Sarah AGE:Twenty-two RANK:Obelisk of Temperance
FACE CLAIM:Fate -- Saber HEIGHT:5’9”
WEIGHT:127 lbs
APPEARANCE: When she isn’t just letting her hair hang loose, Surǽlia has her shoulder-length, golden blonde locks held up in a bun or ponytail with a ribbon of either navy, black, or forest green. Her wardrobe generally consists of a button-up, a matching mini skirt, and thigh-high socks with a pair of casual dress shoes on her feet. However, on occasion, she will wear a coat over her dress shirt and slacks with a pair of business shoes. She has an all-black version of the second outfit that also comes with a pair of tight gloves. Her favorite coat is a double breasted black surcoat with a removable hood. She wears this whenever she’s cold and wearing a miniskirt. Although, despite the classy dress, she will occasional throw on some more casual punkish clothing.
Her body is slender and curved with a reasonable amount of muscle. She’s not all that strong at first glance, but her muscles are tighter than they are thick, making her deceivingly tough. She doesn’t have a large chest with a cup size of 32-B, and her butt matches that in scale. Her whole body seems to be scaled very well with arms and legs that are just the right length and width. On the small of her back, a small tattoo of a pink lily flower has been imprinted in her flesh.
She has liquid green eyes and borderline pale skin. He facial structure is soft, but sharp and her ears are a little smaller than normal. Her lips are slightly pinker than most peoples, but that coloring is balanced by the ever so slight natural blush that encompasses her cheeks.
She likes to be naked, though, and if she gets the chance to take her clothes off, she will. She doesn’t mind onlookers at all. The human body is nothing to be disgusted by and those who are afraid of their own forms are fucking stupid, even stupider than those assholes at the Westboro Baptist Church. If someone happened to stumble upon her in her home, they’d likely find her mostly, if not totally, nude.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. LIKES: –Competitive Gaming- Challenge me in any game, any console. I. Will. Win. I’m an MLG pro and one of the top ranked players in the world, so just try me. This is basically my primary hobby, like, there’s literally nothing that I would rather do in my free time except maybe sleep and have sex. Visoreds- Well, Tracy’s a visored, and he’s really sweet and honorable. I have respect for their species because they overcome the obstacle of their own death, conquer it, and turn it around to aid them. I want to be a visored when I die. I want to immediately join the Gotei, become a shinigami, and have Tracy help me beat the shit out of my inner hollow. Knights- I’ve always had a thing for old tales that Tracy used to tell me. I grew up listening to stories of knights and dragons, kings and wars. I guess that I’m constantly searching for people that hold those values that I love and care about. You know, chivalry. I want to be a knight in battle-scarred armor, I want to be real. Baths- If there’s anything I really love to do, it’s take long steamy baths. They just make everything in my life so much easier and so much more comfortable. They’re relaxing, soothing, calming, and all around just good. Besides, I don’t like wearing clothes and taking a bath is a perfect excuse to take them off. I get time to think, too. I like thinking in the bath. I find that it promotes creativity. DISLIKES: Sinners- Don’t break the laws of life. If you break the code of chivalry, if you’re wrathful, merciless, and evil, by my pride as a Quincy, I will find you and I will cut you down. Alcohol- I’m not much of a drinker, I mean, I get tipsy really easily. It’s kinda sad. Sometimes I’ll have a couple drinks with Tracy, but usually I can’t stand more than two or three bottles of bear. Hell, a single shot of whisky’ll practically knock me out. Besides, why would I want to be drunk. Drinking inhibits you brain and makes you stupid and slow. Why would I ever want to be stupid and slow? Gambling- I’m good at it, yeah, but that doesn’t mean I like it. I’m talking about card games and shit. I’m just not interested in risking my money for some damn fun. Besides, I’ve been caught in enough games of strip poker as it is. Animal Cruelty- I can’t stand when people hurt animals. Anyone that could harm something that relies on them for its own existence deserves to have a sword shoved down their throat. I’m tired of hearing about starving animals that are found abandoned in moldy apartments. I’ll just kick the crap out of everyone that treats animals like that, they deserve to go to hell. NEGATIVE TRAITS: –Stubborn- I yeah. Okay, I’m probably right more often than you are, besides most people are naïve and don’t know what they’re doing. I’d rather just take everything into my own hands than listen to some idiot tell me how to do things. Rebellious- My point, is that I don’t care who you are or how much authority you have over me, if I think you’re not doing the right thing, then I’ll go out and do it myself. If I say we need to do a preemptive strike, and you shoot my idea down, I’ll just wait until you’ve fallen asleep then go out and do it myself. I’m here to do my job, so don’t tell me how to do it. Blunt- If I have something I actually feel needs to be said, then I’ll say it. Even if I feel like someone needs to call you out on how stupid you’re being, I’ll be the first one to tell you. If you aren’t going to be any use in the next battle, I’ll tell you without beating around the bush. There’s just no point in being overly nice if someone’s just going to get in the way. They need to know. That way they can get stronger and actually be of some use one day. Quiet- I don’t talk much, really, unless I feel there’s something to be said. If you talk to me, yeah I’ll probably answer, but don’t be surprised when the words that come out of my mouth are a little half-hearted and careless. I just don’t think talking is all that necessary. I can engage in conversation, so don’t think I can’t, I’d just rather do so if it’s actually something worth talking about.
POSITIVE TRAITS: Determined- Once I’ve set my mind to something, I won’t stop until I’ve accomplished the task. I will never quit. I will never give up. If I’ve made a promise to do something, you can bet I’ll get it done, even if it takes my entire lifetime, I will complete my task. Honest- I won’t lie to you about anything. If you ask me your opinion, I’ll give it to you. If you want to know how I’m feeling, I’ll tell you the truth. It may not be the full truth, because I’m not one to really express my emotions, but I will tell you enough that you’re satisfied. I won’t lie unless it’s advantageous in a battle. Trust me, because I think that anyone that isn’t my enemy should be able to. Honorable- I live by a code of chivalry. I won’t harm the innocent. I will respect my leader, whether I always obey him or not. I will have mercy on those who cannot fight, and I will protect all those that fall under my domain, which so happens to be the entirety of the living world, and soul society when Tracy drags me there for whatever reason. I will follow my own moral code to the death and no one can make me break it. Patient- Unlike Tracy, I’ve developed a knack for patience. It usually takes me quite a lot of time and practice to improve any skill, whether it be gaming or fighting, it all takes time. I’m willing to wait. I’m patient and tolerant of those who’re too stupid to comprehend their own lack of intelligence, which tends to keep me from killing everybody who pisses me off. I don’t hold grudges and don’t expect me to hate very easily. EXTRAS: Despite being young, this is Surǽlia’s third reincarnation. She doesn’t remember anything from her past, but she’s apparently inherited those same personality traits from her past lives, or at least that’s what Tracy has told her. She’s taken on an air of wisdom and knowledge that is surprisingly mature for a woman of her age. She’s responsible, mature, and nothing like most other women she meets who believe they are invincible because they can drink a few bears and smoke a few blunts without vomiting.
When it comes to Shinigami, Surǽlia tends to ignore or avoid them, unless she knows that they’re freelance. She’d rather not get involved with them seeing as her people were ruthlessly slaughtered by them two-hundred years ago. She doesn’t hate them, and holds no grudges, but still, that doesn’t mean she has to interact.
She has little interest in most other Quincy, preferring to work alone. She’s a lone wolf in almost every sense. Other human types like Fullbringers and normal Consecro don’t carry much weight on her “give a crap” scale either. As for the Arrancar, well, that depends. She treats them like she would treat any person with the ability to think. She has a similar view on them that she does with the Shinigami. They may have been hollows once, but she holds no grudges. Just because they were once hollows, doesn’t mean they are all evil. They have regained most, if not all of their sanity and have the ability to analyze other beings. This is enough for her, but that still doesn’t mean she has to interact.
WEAPONS:Seele Schneider, Gintō BOW:Name: Fernen Star (Distant Star)
Appearance: The bow takes the visual form of a very angular metal bow. All if the markings etched into the bow are sharp, as well the shape of the bow itself. Its length comes to be about 5 feet from top to bottom. The grip appears to be wrapped in leather, while the bow itself seems gold plated. It doesn’t look anything like a conventional bow. When preparing to fire, six points jump out of the grip, creating a blue six sided reishi star around the wielder’s hand. QUINCY CROSS:Her cross takes on the appearance of a basic celtic cross with a sapphire in its center. This cross hangs from a sterling silver chain wrapped around her wrist. SANREI GLOVE:No. BOW/GINTO TECHNIQUES: Name: Durchtrennen (Sever) Item used: Seele Schneider/Ginto Type: Offensive Cost: High, in order to maintain the power of the Seele Schneider Range: Short. Duration: 2 posts. Cooldown: 3 posts. Limited by number of Seele Schneider and Ginto available on hand. Description: By adding the effects of a Ginto, this ability allows that particular Seele Schneider to bypass a certain percentage of the target’s armor. This technique was created to bypass Hierro and other forms of reiatsu armor. This compares SEI to HAN. If the opponent’s HAN stat is equal to or lower than the user’s SEI, this attack isn’t necessary to engage. However, this allows the user to cut through a HAN that is up to 3 higher than their own SEI. The Seele Schneider cannot be fired from a bow while this technique is active and must be used as a sword. The Ginto maximizes the reishi inside the Seele Schneider, and , should it be released from the user’s grip, will no longer be able to absorb reishi and be completely nullified. This overcharges the weapon, breaking the Seele Schneider after its use.
Name: Lähmung (Paralysis) Item used: Seele Schneider/Gintō Type: Offensive, single target Cost: Low. Range: Medium to Long Effect Duration: 2 posts Cooldown 4 posts Description: This ability uses a single Seele Schneider and Gintō capsule to create a reishi resonator that shakes loose the bonds that hold together the target’s nerves. This removes the brain’s ability to communicate, cutting the signal and replacing it with a new message. The new message tells the target’s nerves that they can’t move and so they tighten and the victim loses all muscle control. However, location of the wound is important as that determines what part of the body will be effected. A wound on a limb will effect only that limb, while a wound on the lower torso will paralyze everything below the waist and a direct hit on the upper torso will render both arms unusable. Another Quincy can use the ability Ransōtengai to easily escape the issues brought about by this. Otherwise, nothing but a SEI 4 or higher than the user’s can be used to escape the fate, completely, overpowering the resonator and solidifying the bonds. However, a HAN can be used to reduce the effects of the attack and, a HAN of 4 higher than the user's SEI will feel nothing but a light numbness in the effected area.
Name: Spurtun (Tracer) Item used: Bow/Seele Schneider Type: Offensive Cost: Medium. Range: Long. Cooldown: 2 post, however, the attack is limited by the number of Seele Schneider that the user has on person. Description: By increasing the density of the reishi at the hilt of the Seele Schneider, the user can augment the projectile speed to a near incomprehensible level. The projectile moves so quickly that it almost appears to be teleporting. The Seele Schneider releases the reishi as it is fired, leaving a blue trail that marks the path it took to the target. This trail appears as a straight blue line that dissipates after several seconds. A HOH higher than either the user’s SEI or BUK will allow them to track the attack and dodge it with relative ease, while, if the stats are equal, the target should have a little more trouble. If the target’s HOH is less than the SEI of the user, and the user has a high enough BUK, the attack will be almost impossible to dodge.
Name: Graustar (Ashen Star) Item used: Bow Type: Offensive/Defensive Cost: High. Range: Short. Duration: 2 posts Cooldown: 4 posts. Description: The user’s spirit bow desolves into a cloud of dark colored, incredibly dense, and highly conductive reishi particles. These particles can then be controlled by the user and used in a multitude of different ways. Each particle acts like a Seele Schneider in that is vibrates at rapid speeds and can be used to cut, allowing the attack to be used in a similar fashion to Senbonzakura. The particles can also be used as a shield if they are brought close enough together. This shield can be bypassed with a HAK or SEI of 2 higher than the user's. QUINCY: VOLLSTANDIG name: Sterbenden Star (Dying Star)
description: Surǽlia’s clothes are shed for an alternate outfit. This outfit takes on the appearance of a backless dress with a petalled base. She dons a light suit of armor consisting of a curiass, greaved boots, and full-forearm, fingered gauntlets. The gauntlet on her right hand lacks a middle and index finger along with a thumb, replacing them with a tight black cloth. These are the archer’s fingers and are typically kept differently from the rest of the armor. On either hip, she also dons a thin piece of layered armor that overlays one of the petals on the dress. Her sleeves are detached from the dress itself and are rather fluffy around her biceps, sporting a little black bow that matches the one appearing in her hair as a hold for her ponytail or bun. Her Spirit weapon takes on the form of an oddly looking modern sniper rifle with magazine bank for both Seele Schneider and Ginto. The weapon appears similarly to her bow, with many sharp angular shapes and bladed curves. The color, however, is silver and the lens of the weapon’s scope is tinted blue and has a six-pointed star in its center.
However, her Spirit weapon can take on a second form at random. She has yet to learn how to control this ability and it occasional leads to drawbacks or problems in combat. The second form of her Spirit weapon takes on the form of a western sword with a rapier like guard. This weapon, as it isn’t a projectile weapon, has its own abilities, none of which she knows. She can never go into vollstandig with the intention of achieving this weapon, and succeed. It always occurs when she doesn’t mean for it to, but she’s sure she’ll get the hang of it sooner or later.
type: Full Body, Multirange Offensive.
stat upgrades: REI +2, SEI +3, HOH +3
techniques: Name: Seele Rüstung (Soul Armor) Item used: N/A Type: Defensive/Constant Cost: low. Range: N/A Duration: posts = to one quarter the users total REI, rounded down. Description: This passive technique is the powerful reishi that takes the form of the metal armor on her body. This armor is very strong, and comes as a passive bonus to her Vollstandig. A SEI equal to or greater than her’s can penetrate the armor, while a HAK of 1 greater will shatter the armor on impact. The armor itself is too powerful to maintain across her whole body, which is why it exists only in those particular areas where it is displayed. It requires a high SEI to maintain due to the fact that it is condensed reishi.
Name: Ausweiden (Disembowel) Item used: Seele Schneider/Ginto Type: Offensive/Melee Cost: Medium Range: Short. Duration: 2 posts Cooldown: 8 posts Description: This technique is similar in ability and execution to Durchtrennen (Sever), however, instead of simply increasing the amount of reishi that the Seele Schneider can absorb for a brief period of time, the ginto also increases the speed at which the reishi vibrate, further improving its cutting abilities. This technique was perfected for the soul purpose of slicing straight through and enemy’s weapon and simply disemboweling them in a single attack when they attempted to block. By weakening the bonds that hold the weapon together, the Seele Schneider can almost phase through the opposing equipment, but isn't likely to cut through it directly The compares HAN and SEI. Should the target’s HAN be higher than the user’s SEI, the Seele Schneider will not be able to bypass their weapon, instead, simply damaging it on contact. Otherwise, the techniques effects are almost identical to that of Durchtrennen (Sever). This allows the user to cut through a HAN that is 2 greater than their own SEI. The Seele Schneider cannot be fired from a bow while this technique is active and must be used as a sword. The Ginto maximizes the reishi inside the Seele Schneider, and, should it be released from the user’s grip, will no longer be able to absorb the necessary amount of reishi and be completely nullified. This overcharges the weapon, breaking the Seele Schneider after its use.
Name: Steil Spurtun (Sharp Tracer) Item used: Bow/ Seele Schneider Type: Offensive/ Hyper Long Range Cost: High. Range: Medium to Hyper Long Long Cooldown: 4 post, however, the attack is limited by the number of Seele Schneider that the user has on person. Description: This ability is an advancement on Spurtun. By increasing the density of the reishi at the hilt of the Seele Schneider, the user can augment the projectile speed to a near incomprehensible level. The projectile moves so quickly that it almost appears to be teleporting. The Seele Schneider releases the reishi as it is fired, leaving a blue trail that marks the path it took to the target. This trail appears as a straight blue line that dissipates after several seconds. A HOH 3 higher than either the user’s SEI or BUK will allow them to track the attack and dodge it with relative ease, while, if the HOH is less than 3 greater, the target should have a much more trouble. If the target’s HOH is equal to or less than the SEI of the user, and the user has a high enough BUK, the attack will be almost impossible to dodge.
Name: Leiterschlag (Headshot) Item used: Seele Schneider, Ginto Type: Offensive/ Hyper Long Range/ Paralysis Cost: Very High. Range: Medium to Hyper Long. Effect Duration: 3 posts Cooldown: 7 posts Description: With a similar effect on the opponent’s body as Lähmung (Paralysis), this technique is always released with the intention of killing the target and is always aimed at the head but is developed in such a way that even a miss is a hit. When fired, the Seele Schneider is overcharged with a Ginto capsule; this capsule then initates the same paralyzing effects of the weaker ability. Combining this with the condensed reishi used to augment the speed of Steil Spurtun, the Seele Schneider is then fired at a blinding speed towards the target, leaving a white trail instead of the usual blue. A HOH 4 higher than either the user’s SEI or BUK will allow them to track the attack and dodge it with relative ease, while, if the HOH is less than 4 greater, the target should have a much more trouble. If the target’s HOH is equal to or less than the SEI of the user, and the user has a high enough BUK, the attack will be almost impossible to dodge. Location of the wound is important as that determines what part of the body will be affected. A wound on a limb will affect only that limb, while a wound on the lower torso will paralyze everything below the waist and a mark on the upper torso will render both arms unusable. Another Quincy can use the ability Ransōtengai to easily escape the issues brought about by this. Otherwise, nothing but a SEI 3 or higher than the user’s can be used to escape the fate, completely overpowering the resonator and solidifying the bonds. However, a HAN can be used to reduce the effects of the attack and, a HAN of 3 higher than the user's SEI will feel nothing but a light numbness in the affected area. A REI higher than the user's SEI can also be used to forcefully break the paralysis. This overcharges the Seele Schneider, causing it to break after use.
HISTORY: Born on December 31st 1990, Surǽlia Mora is of the primary English line of Quincy. Their house has been nobility since long before the Great War. She is the first Gemischt Quincy in the family, breaking the perfectly pureblood line. Her mother, who refused to accept the arranged marriage that was thrust upon her, inevitably married another Gemischt Quincy from Italy. Surǽlia was born in Italy and given the birth name Surǽlia Mora da Bretagna or Surǽlia Mora of Britain. Surǽlia’s mother died at child birth while giving birth to her twin brother. Her father was forced to raise them both alone in his Villa. However, Surǽlia’s brother died soon after due to a heart defect, and her father was killed by an adjuchas two months later.
With no one left in her immediate family, she became the last surviving member of two separate lines of Quincy blood at the age of four months. Then the archangel came. Thurstan Trascis, a Shinigami who’d tried to save the Quincy from utter extinction 200 years earlier had been watching over the English line of her heritage since he helped them to retreat into hiding. Now that the family was falling again, he’d decided to take Surǽlia in and raise her himself, while having her trained by the American branch of Gemischt quincy. The only known family of Quincy residing in the United States at the time of her unofficial adoption was located in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were likely several more Quincy families, but none of which Thurstan knew about.
This proved to be problematic because Thurstan couldn’t afford to raise her there for so many years; he turned to a Canadian family residing in Calgary. They kindly accepted his proposal to train the girl, in exchange for letting them live in his home in Washington while the training was underway. A little resistant to have someone else living in his home, it took some convincing for Thurstan to accept the deal. In the end it managed to be profitable enough.
Surǽlia was not raised as a normal child. She was taken care of by a Visored and privately tutored by another Quincy, Michelle Dennis, who was an Echt Quincy in the English Canadian line. Michelle had been the one who offered to raise Surǽlia. For several years Surǽlia was influenced heavily by both her Quincy pseudo-mother and her Visored pseudo-father. Her mindset and development took heavy influence from both sides, despite the fact that she looked nothing like either of them.
Surǽlia had few friends when she was little, preferring to trade real social interactions for video games. This may have had an effect on her social capabilities, making her quiet and secretive. However, Thurstan and Michelle’s influence turned her into a strong, hard-willed, and determined young lady. Her basic teachings included all the necessary courses to survive in the real world. In addition, she was taught the basic skills necessary to become a full-fledged Quincy.
This lifestyle still didn’t keep Surǽlia from acting like a normal child. She was angsty, naïve, and sometimes just downright mean. There were many instances where she couldn’t quite figure out what she’d wanted out of life. She had so few friends, and so much free time on her hands. Video games seemed to be the only place she could turn. It didn’t take long for her to become a professional idol in the gaming world. She was an MLG pro at 15 and a championship winner at 17. She made friends through her competitive gaming lifestyle and this actually kept her from being as solitary and quiet as she once was. She was an incredible gamer, holding the world record for most perfect games in a row in Halo: Reach.
Michelle had been involved in the experimentation of Quincy evolution towards Vollstandig; therefore, she also considered the Quincy Letz Stil to be an ancient and dying technique. Because of this, she gave Surǽlia a Sanrei glove but never taught her how to master it. This lack of knowledge is still apparent in Surǽlia’s mind today. Most of her training was focused on the use of the Seele Schneider and how to perfect the weapon’s use. This led to the development of many creative ways to use her favorite tool, and is also the reason she carries so many on her at one time.
At the age of 13, Thurstan began leaving their home, taking Surǽlia on his journeys. He was an adventurer, after all, and he couldn’t leave her home by herself when Michelle wasn’t there. They’re path took them from place to place across the entire world, from the southernmost point of South America where you can see penguins in the jungle, to the coldest depths of northern Russia. Thurstan had taken her videogames, her Elder Scrolls, her Lord of the Rings, and made them almost real. Their journeys were fraught with danger that was overcome with sheer force of will. They scaled mountains, and repelled into great gorges. They even ended up stranded on a massive pirate infested island for almost two months. By the age of 16, she’d traveled across almost the whole world. Every few months, they’d return to their home and Surǽlia would receive further professional training from her tutor, but these training sessions became less and less valuable the more real-life experience that Surǽlia received on her journeys.
When she reached the age of 19, Surǽlia left to find her own way in the world. She moved from place to place much like Thurstan did, but they never seemed to find each other in the same place at the same time. Years of training and practice had kept her powerful and made sure that she’d be safe on her own. She had almost no involvement on the war with Aizen and the Arrancar. She may have killed a couple of them on her travels, but that was about it. It was hard to move about without revealing that she was a Quincy.
After the war had ended, she found herself running into more and more Quincy, until she eventually came to Rome. She’d never been one for religion and it seemed to her that the things she was hearing about Hell and Sins was a bunch of crap. This opinion changed rapidly when she saw the gates of Hell open up, spraying gouts of flame and ash across the sky. Instead of sucking something in, however, the land of sinner gave birth to something else. A humanoid figure with incredible reiatsu came forth from the massive skeletal doors. In an instant, the Sin was gone. Surǽlia couldn’t believe her own eyes. She didn’t have a chance to identify the Sin or even register whether to attack it, befriend it, or run. Before she could do anything, the gates of hell had closed, sucked in the ash and flame, then vanished into thin air. A few days later, she was approached by someone who’d claimed to be a member of the Consecro, an organization created for the purpose of defeating the Sins before they could bring about the end of the world.
Wasn’t this just the perfect time and place to be a knight? That was the first thing that crossed Surǽlia’s mind when she signed on to oppose the Sins herself. She almost immediately agreed to the offer and was given the title of Consecro Guardian. She didn’t quite understand exactly what this all meant, she just had a gut feeling that whatever came out of Hell was evil and needed to be stopped.
During her time as a Guardian, there was little activity among the Sins. It seemed like they were simply preparing and biding their time. As patient as Surǽlia was, she still believed that waiting for the Sins to attack was the wrong thing to do. So, she went out on her own to find the Sins and discover whatever it was they were planning. After only two months in the Consecro, she had abandoned her orders and gone to take matters into her own hands.
Surǽlia marched right to the Sin’s front door, she waited, and waited, and waited for what seemed like an eternity, but then, after killing hundreds and hundreds of hollow, finally she killed a sinner. The gates of hell opened up to swallow its soul, but instead, something came out of that endless pit of pain and despair. Another Sin was traded for the hollow that was immediately dragged down to Hell. This Sin looked so human, so normal, that it almost threw Surǽlia off. It was confusing and not at all what she’d expected. Surǽlia charged headlong at her foe with a plan to kill him in a single strike. That wasn’t possible.
Surǽlia returned to the Vatican in defeat, head hung low and body covered in bruises. The Sin of Gluttony had kicked her ass, and that’s all she could really say about the matter. At least she’d found one. At least she’d managed to succeed in discovering what they looked like and determining that Gluttony had indeed emerged from the bowels of hell. She slept for almost two weeks after she collapsed on the steps of the Vatican.
When she awoke, she was greeted with more than just a light scolding. She’d expected to be banished and sent on her own way. Instead, her eyes fluttered open and, as she shot up from her bed, they met Thurstan’s gaze. He’d come to visit her a few days before and ended up waiting for her to awaken. Then, she found herself face to face with a slew of other Guardians. Rather than scold her, or banish her from the Consecro, they claimed that her efforts were heroic, a little stupid, but heroic, honorable, and courageous. They offered her the position of either the Obelisk of Temperance or the Obelisk of Humility.
She decided to take on the role of the Obelisk of Temperance, believing that those virtues and traits fit her better than the rest. She had considered becoming the Obelisk of Humility, but she figured that involved being nice to absolutely everything, and that wasn’t quite how she liked to play out her life. She has a certain sense for the traits that Temperance represents. She certainly isn’t gluttonous, which helps, and keeps her from doing one thing for too long (most of the time). She’s courageous, honorable, and has a strong sense of justice.
Now, nine months after becoming the Obelisk of Temperance, Surǽlia spends most of her time in the Vatican or hunting down the Sins and Tagobito, their little pets. She has a goal that she’s set her mind to, and that is to win this war with as few casualties as possible. She’s going to win, even if she has to do everything herself. The other obelisks have tried to dissuade her from acting on her own, but most of them seem to be taking their sweet time. Time that she thinks is being wasted. RP SAMPLE:Tapping. Tapping. Endless tapping. That’s all she could hear. This rasping, clacking, knocking, and knocking, and knocking. It was without end. Another noise behind that one, though, was pushing its way through the wrapping from above. The soft pitter-patter of rain on metal echoed through her brain. It was a soothing sound behind all the tapping that never seemed to stop. Her body ached and cried out in agony. I get it, she tried to tell her body, I understand that something’s wrong. You’ve made your point now please just stop. Please. Please. Please. I’ll fix it, just stop. Stop. Stop. Goddammit, stop. But her body wouldn’t listen. It was a stubborn form, intent on crying and complaining until the very moment it got what it desired.
She tried to scratch her head, but couldn’t lift her arms. There was something on her wrists, something tight, itchy, and uncomfortable. She tugged, but nothing happened. She didn’t feel like opening her eyes; they were just so heavy. It was exhausting enough just being awake. She’d rather be asleep again. She’d rather be asleep. And so, she fell back into darkness, and with that darkness, came the memories of home and the deepest, strangest desires that her conscious mind simply couldn’t comprehend. A dream passed through her chambers of thought and imagery. Her brain had this magnificent ability to form pictures from nothing then bring them to life. She had reached out to pick the strange orange and pink mushroom that had suddenly sprouted from the floor of her bathroom. As her fingers drew themselves across its fuzzy and smooth surface, something odd happened. The walls of the room fell apart and…
Surǽlia’s eyes shot open. It was cold; her body hurt, and she had no idea where she was. She was lying in the mud, but above her was a wooden floor. There was this incessant tapping like someone was pounding their foot to the music in his head. God, fuck. Whoever’s doing that is an asshole. She looked around and tried to take in the situation. She was propped up in a corner, with a large rock to her left. A good six feet above her was that wooden floor. She could see light coming through the cracks between the boards. It was raining and the sounds of heavy torrents of water barraging the roof were echoing down to her. There didn't seem to be a way up, but there had to be some passage out of this hole.
Then a droplet of water smacked her on the nose. Gah, what the fuck! That must have been the tapping. It wasn’t a noise from above but it was the water dripping onto her face and the rock beside her. She tried to stand, even if just to get out of the water, but something was keeping her from moving her limbs. Her eyes fell down upon the crude rope binds that held her hands and feet together. Whoever’d done this didn’t do a bad job. They’d connected the foot and hand cuffs which even further decreased her ability to move. Still she had to get away from the tapping, that Goddamn tapping. Surǽlia wriggled her body a foot or so away before a she suddenly dropped down several feet and landed with a heavy thud. She grunted when her body hit the ground and ground her teeth together to keep her from making any more noise.
Now she could hear something: voices, two men talking. She couldn’t make out what they were saying over the screeching in her ear. Stop, you son of a bitch. Stop. I’ll fix you when we’re done. She must have broken something, or at least pinched a few nerves. Her legs were numb and everything else ached. The voices continued to drone on, but the details were still inaudible. Surǽlia couldn’t think of anything else to do but just use her reiatsu to break the rope. She spiked it, bringing down the gravity in the area. She heard the two men grunt and mention something about this happening again. With a heavy heave the bind on her wrists snapped. She calmed her reiatsu and knew that Tracy would be able to distinguish it and find her. The liquid-eyed blonde reached down and quickly untied the knots at her feet.
The relief of being able to spread her arms and legs was incredible. Her body seemed to agree as the new position she took, arms and legs flung outward across the cold, hard ground, brought with it a physical comfort that was hard to describe in words. Sadly, Surǽlia didn’t have that much time to enjoy herself and she quickly sat up to peer around the strange chamber. It was a cave. She was in a damn cave with stalactites and torches and everything. This looks like a fucking Tomb Raider game. She started to chew on her lip as thoughts ran through her brain. How was she going to get out without drawing too much attention to herself? What was the easiest way out?
The voices brought her back to reality and in that instant she dropped to the ground and started crawling along the floor of the cave. It was a very slow crawl, as she slowly put one foot in front of the other in a sort of duck walk style. She used her hands to maneuver through the spiky pieces of dried salt and lime. The voices grew louder and clearer as she neared them. A flickering light and the sound of crackling fire led her closer and closer to where she wanted to go. She heard them talking about the next group of survivors that had washed up on the northern shore of the island, and that there was still some guy out there who’d been causing lots of trouble for their business, whatever it was. Still chewing her lips, she peered around the corner and down the wooden ramp. There, looking out into the cave, were the two men. Their clothes were torn and they looked hard and beaten, certainly not like normal people. Even their voices were harsh and grizzly.
Surǽlia had only one choice in her mind: get past them, and so she would. She continued to move, keeping her low walk at a slow and steady pace. There was a torch on the far wall across from the men that lit a small wooden table with silver objects on it. Those are mine, she thought as she eyed the Seele Schneider from 20 feet away. She was now just behind the men. She could just as easily kill them with her bow but that would be too loud. She needed to be silent and make it out with drawing too much attention to herself. This wouldn’t be that much of an issue. All she had to do was…
She quickly stood from her lowered position and kicked the man on the left behind the knee. He immediately fell to the ground, stunned. The second man turned to react only to receive a sharp punch to the throat then another to the solar plexus before a hard kick met his groin. He toppled over and curled into a ball trying his best to breathe. The first bastard was up and coming to kill Surǽlia. He was dumb. As he threw a punch at her, she side stepped and let her own arm ride his up to his neck where her finger smashed into his wind pipe, causing him to stumble. It was too bad for him; she’d followed through with her footwork and, in three quick steps, had arrived just behind him, her hand still by his throat. Surǽlia quickly wrapped her whole arm around his jaw, and, with her other hand up by his ear, jerked her whole body. There was a loud snap and man went limp, his torso falling on top of his friend. The other man had just begun to recover, when Surǽlia’s foot met the side of his neck and another sickening crack filled the cave.
“Hmph.” Surǽlia stepped over the fresh corpses and quickly made her way over to her tools. Without hesitation she grabbed them all and strapped them across her body as she usually did. It wouldn’t be long until someone came and found the bodies. Marveling at her last Seele Schneider she smiled before squeezing it in her hand and silently slinking into the darkness of the cave.
