Because the world isn't as bad as you think. FACE CLAIM:Durarara!! – Celty Sturluson Link
HEIGHT:5’7
WEIGHT:130lbs
APPEARANCE:For those who knew Rin before her accident, they knew she had a very beautiful head. Her face shape can be described as an almond shape with a very sharp chin. With a pointed noise and a small mouth, her eyes rounded and a beautiful shade of light blue. Her hair style cradles her face and is almost long enough to meet her chin, with a single part of hair in between her eyes. Her hair is of a medium length, mostly dark brown, and it stops at the mid part of her neck. Of course, all of what was described can no longer be seen after her accident. Rin stands at a height of five foot seven inches, and weighs in at around a hundred-thirty pounds. She is a very curvy woman and typically likes to wear clothes that show off her figure. When she is in the human world she chooses wear a black zip-up suit that hugs her body along with a pair of biker boots. Along with this she typically wears a helmet, since it isn’t normal in the human world to be walking around headless.
In the Shinigami realm, she typically wears the traditional Shinigami Captain robes, although she chooses to show a bit more cleavage than most. Due to a kido accident the entirety of her head disappeared, for good it seems. Her hair stopped growing due to an effect of the miss-attempted kido. Her body abruptly ends at the top of her neck, a head is still there but it cannot be seen. Although it is still there, only invisible, it can still be, felt, everything is still there although it is mystery as to why they cannot make it reappear again.
Human are so appealing and interesting so I can’t help myself LIKES: - Books - Saki - Chinese Food - Ice Cream - Teaching - Kido - Learning - Volunteering - Tutoring - Tea
DISLIKES: - Calamari - Disrespectful People - Bullies - When there isn’t enough food
NEGATIVE TRAITS: - Overly Analytical - She overly cares for people to a point that she can smother them - She is sometimes too smart for her own good - A poor sword fighter - She can get carried away while drinking
POSITIVE TRAITS: - Photographic memory - Ability to speed read - Can multi task - Thinks of everyone as an equal - Great at Kido
EXTRAS: Rin is a genius, and she was identified as one even when she was still alive. Equipped with a photographic memory and the ability to speed read she easily came out above everyone else in her academic studies. She could easily analyze, than evaluate a situation to come up with an answer. She was praised as such, and usually with being a genius a certain kind of arrogance is usually attached. Oddly enough this was not the case with her; she looked at everyone as an equal and with just a different way of thinking than she had. Sometimes she could even over analyze a situation and with but a few short words from another person could put the whole think in perspective for her to figure out. Rin, is one of the kindest people you can meet, and wants to help everyone she meets. This is why she was often a tutor for the other kids in her class because she always picked up subjects quickly. She always had a helping attitude, charities, walks for life, volunteering for shelters, tutoring other students, it was all a part of her mentality. Even though she was so helpful she disliked people picking on her friends, she may not have been extremely strong but her tongue was worse than any fist she could throw. With just one tongue lashing she could leave bullies hurting more than the people they beat up. It was just how she was, and her wit got her a lot further than her physical strength ever got her.
There are no devils in Hell, they are all here WEAPONS:Extendable ruler (1 meter), a very heavy book on Kido
ZANPAKUTO:name: Choksaku
sealed form: Her zanpaktou in its sealed form takes the shape of a book mark. It is eight inches long, by four inches wide, and the top fourth of it is black while the bottom three-fourths of it is white. Only when she grabs onto the book mark does it take on its full length. When she grabs onto the book mark it transforms into a normal zanpaktou without a sheath, measuring in about 3.5 feet in length, otherwise it stays in its book mark form.
spirit: Her Zanpaktou spirit is oddly not in a human form, and takes the shape of a cat, who is one-fourth white, and three-fourths black, going from front to back. It is an average size cat and prides itself on its look which is also similar to her zanpaktou’s sealed state. The personality of her spirit, whose name happens to be Shinji, is rather aloof and perhaps even uncaring, although it is fairly intelligent and offers random words of wisdom when it deems necessary.
inner world: The inner world of her zanpaktou is a library, with black walnut book cases that seem to span for miles out and perhaps at least a hundred-twenty yards up. These book shelves contain knowledge of every kind of information currently known to man. Within the massive library of book shelves there is a circular center, in this circular center lays a fire place, one large comfy couch, a small foot rest spanning the couch length with several smaller book shelves which contain frequently read books. The center of this area is around hundred-twenty yards, perfect for training for just some comfy solemn reading.

techniques:
For: Bankai Name: Educate Our Enemies, Choksaku! Type: Offensive / Defensive Cooldown: Once per a thread Cost: High Range: Long Description: With this ability she can pull herself and an opponent(s) into a battlefield of her choice. Meaning they could fight their battle in a roman coliseum, on the ship of the raging waters of Moby Dick, or even in the castle of King Author himself. She can only keep opponents in this battle field for a maximum of twenty posts, and the battlefield admittedly dissipates if she is knocked unconscious or rendered dead. If her opponents Rei is two above her Sei, she can only keep them in the battlefield for five posts rather than twenty. They can force their way out of her Bankai after five posts. An opponent can also force their way into her battlefield after five posts if their Rei is two above her Sei.
She can also bring allies into this world, and use it for training, and the maximum is still twenty posts against their will, unless they are a willing member they can stay in the battlefield as long as they need to. When she pulls her enemy or ally into her world, no one from the outside world can force their way into the Bankai made world. Meaning in the heat of battle if an ally(s) is wounded she can pull them into her world, giving them time recuperate without getting attacked from outside sources.
For: Bankai Name: Kido, Choksaku! Type: Offensive / Defensive Cooldown: N/A Cost: High Range: Long Description: When Rin Minatsuki goes into her Bankai, her one black book in Shikai floats into the air and replicates itself into dozens of books. All of them taking on different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures as far as books go. All these books are connected to her will. The books are also constantly moving and changing shape/color/size around her. With her will alone, she can open any book, aim it in any direction and instantly cast a Kido from that book, or cast multiple Kido's from multiple books up to three Kido's at the same time. She can only cast lower leveled Kido, half of what she currently knows. Example, ifs he knows Kido up to level 77, she can use up to level 39 with this attack.
For: Bankai Name: Sword, Shield, Armor, Choksaku! Type: Offensive / Defensive Cooldown: 2 post cool down Cost: High Range: Long Description: An ally may grab one of Rin's books and plunge their arm into the book. Doing so instantly grants Rin access to all their memories which are stored in her book forever. Doing this her allies may pull out any weapon, shield, or armor they have read in any book they've ever read, and she can also pull out weapon, shield, or armor she's read from any book. She can also open these books and shoot out a weapon or multiple weapons of her choice at an enemy. Meaning, she could open a book and continuously fire out arrows or swords at an enemy. If an enemy tries to use a weapon, shield, or armor set that Rin has manifested they will not be able to pick it up. For each weapon, shield, or armor set pulled out of Rin's book by an ally they can use them for three posts before disappearing, if Rin herself uses them, she can use them for six posts for disappearing. If she is just firing the weapons at an enemy, the second they meet an enemy or the ground they disappear. Meaning, while she can only hold onto a weapon for six posts, she can fire dozens of weapons in a single post.
Welp, here's my idea. Let's fix it until its something I can use.
Then pen is mightier than the sword HISTORY: Rin’s life starts off as most other children’s lives, in the loving arms of a mother and father. Although many would learn she wasn’t like other children at all. Paired with her photogenic memory, her ability to speed read, and with her ability to do many tasks at once she picked up subjects quickly. From the moment she stepped into grade school her teachers could see she was a genius, and when offered the option to skip grades she declined. Staying within the grades of her class mates, and taking extra classes so her abilities would not go to waste, also at a very young age she picked up tutoring to help her class mates, and she could even help upper classman with their home work because she could pick up subjects so quickly.
When she wasn’t participating in school activities, and tutoring classmates, she volunteered her time at local charities. Doing anything from feeding the homeless, cutting hedges for the elderly or even raking their lawns. She even volunteered at the local animal shelters, grooming dogs, feeding them, and taking them on walks. She was a very caring person and she always looked at everyone as an equal no matter how smart she was. Her intelligence never made her arrogant, and she never thought she was better than anyone else, which was rare on someone that was literally classified as a genius. Despite the fact she had requested not to skip grades, back of her constant 4.0 through elementary, middle school, and high school, and the extra classes she had taken on, she ended up graduating high school two years early.
Instantly she went to college right after high school, admittedly getting accepted into one of the most prestigious college’s in the surrounding area. She decided that she would be a teacher since she had been tutoring students literally throughout her entire school career. Despite the fact that her life this far had been successful and without hassle it seems that unfortunately enough the good die young. Of course she died as most book lovers hope to die, with their nose in a book. Sitting at a street side café, sipping at tea, and happily reading a book, Rin hadn’t a care in the world. A driver swerved missing a pedestrian in the street, only for their car to ride up on the side walk, hitting the poor Rin at thirty-five miles per an hour. Her head soundly hit the pavement, cracking her skull wide open, for all the people around her to see.
Before an ambulance could even come to save her, the poor girl had already died, sadly dying at the ripe age of twenty.
It wasn’t long after her soul wondered around Karakura that a Shinigami sent her to rukongai.
In rukongai she quickly absorbed as much information as she possibly could, and spread her knowledge to those around her. She lived in rukongai for a couple years, but it wasn’t long until word of her endeavors spread to the Shinigami, because of her intelligent, and the ability to see the bigger picture she had greatly improved the lives of the people around her. A Shinigami himself had found the girl, quickly taking her from the districts of rukongai and into the academy.
In the academy she quickly proved her worth, showing that she could rise among the ranks quickly if given the time. Although the only mile stone that perverted her from rising too quickly was her poor aptitude at sword fighting, it was just something she couldn’t exactly get her head around, and it was something that eventually made her feel horrible. She had gone her entire life without ever being challenged and she had finally met her match with sword training. It took her five times the effort of even the worst students to pick up on even the most basic moves. It seems her skill was not in fighting, but in learning, teaching, and even more so kido.
Kido was what she was most proficient at, something she felt she could easily learn with but a few days’ worth of training under her belt. Although she would make one of the biggest mistakes of her life because of this, her teacher gave her simple spells to learn at first, and told her to first master the basics before even attempting anything else. It was all about building a solid foundation before you could move onto other techniques. Not listening to the teacher and deciding to move on ahead with her kido studies she used a technique that was far beyond her understanding at the time. The technique horribly backfired, causing a loud clap of thunder to be heard, her head to turn invisible, and successfully knocking her unconscious.
When an instructor first found her a loud scream could be heard, as she thought the girl was surely dead. But she was far from it, realizing that the body was still breathing she was rushed to the med-corps where she received treatment for a concussion after some minor difficulties, because her head had completely vanished. After many attempts by the Captain at the time to restore her head it was all for not. Whatever the girl had done unsuccessfully seemed to be permanent. Her neck abruptly ending at the top, anyone looking down her neck could not see inside her, only seeing a black abyss that seemed to be endless. Rin was still capable of eating, and drinking. The liquids or solids could not be seen when put into her mouth, it was a weird phenomenon indeed and one that would just have to be lived with until further notice.
Now that she had learned a very valuable lesson early in life, she continued on with her studies of the various arts of the Shinigami. It was only a few short years, a record it seemed before she was in a seated position within the kido corps, and only from their would she raise to the top! It wasn’t long after she reached her seated position that her zanpaktou started to talk to her. The spirits name being Shinji, and Shinji decided to pull her into his inner world one day, revealing him to her. Although she was rather surprised, the deep voice she had been hearing was none other than from a cat. One that mimicked the very colors of her zanpaktou, rather it be a book mark or in sword state.
At this point in time she would learn the two of three techniques. Transform, Choksaku! and Kido, Choksaku! Her first ability would allow her to summon any weapon, shield, or armor from any book she had read, while the other would allow her to instantly cast kido, and even multi-cast kido. Her Shikai also made her memories a physical manifestation in her book, which she could tear out pages and a new would be put in its place, so essentially it was a never ending book. This was very impressive, and after many conversations with Shinji she was finally able to practice it more so in the real world. This first time she used it was in a sparring match between a fellow Shinigami. It was an all or nothing sort of thing, and she decided to reveal one part of her Shikai at this time. Drawing the blade Excalibur as she decided to do battle with the fabled blade, of course her opponent was thrown off guard, and it was one of the only real reasons she had won this blade match.
Of course, everyone was fairly impressed that a low seated member had already learned her Shikai, and to their knowledge that was all she could do with her Shikai, something she would choose to keep secret for now for her own safety. Rin was soon after acknowledged by the Captain and Lieutenant at the time. They were fairly impressed with her quick graduation through the academy, her seat placement and now the learning of her Shikai. They offered her a higher seat placing since she was already surpassing those who had been here longer, and seemed quite fruitless with their zanpaktou advancement.
Her history is like those of most other Shinigami, she would get called out to go to the human world to fight hollow, and she continued to expand her horizons continuously. It seemed her noise was always in a book about kido, fighting styles, or sometimes she just read books for pure pleasure. Her third Shikai ability was revealed to her not to long after this, and it is possibly one of the most powerful Shikai that she knows about. The ability to not only absorb memories from the willing, but to absorb memories from the dead to the extent she even absorbed their bodies into her pages. She met with the Captain of her division to talk to her about the third technique of her Shikai. Just speaking about it, she was fairly impressed with the fact of what she could do. To, take some ones memories, and make them physical manifestations in a book in quality detail was truly impressive. Although Rin decided to leave out that she could also absorb the memories and bodies of the dead until further notice.
Life went on as usual; she was put on details in the human world to exterminate hollows and her studies seemed never ending. It wasn’t until the invasion of Aizen that things got interesting; caught up in the war between the two factions it was only unfortunate that both her Captain and Lieutenant would meet their untimely demise. Moments before their deaths she revealed to them the other part of her Shikai, because she still had so much to learn she asked if she could absorb the memories and bodies of the respective Captain and Vice-Captain. They agreed, their knowledge needed to be passed on, even at the cost of being taken out of the cycle of death and rebirth. She absorbed them, and with this a new flood of knowledge entered into her mind in the chaos of this battle. With the absorbing of these two individuals her spirit spoke to her again, and with this traumatic event she learned her Bankai, it was necessary for her to have this power to continue the battle.
People were dying all around her, and it was necessary to give those who needed to escape the chance if they could take it. She pulled several of her enemies into an old Greek Labyrinth, their foe would be a multitude of traps along with a powerful Minotaur. Giving her allies the time they needed to escape and regroup against the Invasion of Aizen. After she was done pulling everyone into her world, they reappeared back into the same spot, only to be met with reinforcements which quickly cleaned up who was left. She collapsed due to the draw the Bankai had taken on her, the first time she had used it, and at this time she was one of the youngest Shinigami to ever learn her Bankai under abnormal circumstances. After the invasion of Aizen, and with the dilemma of no Captain or Vice-Captain in command and a number of other seated members being killed off she was promoted to Captain admittedly.
With the knowledge of the Captain and Vice-Captain before her she used this to even more quickly scale up the ranks and learn the capacity of her Bankai. The capacity to revive the dead, and allow them once again to fight alongside her, she spoke with the Captain of all Captains about this development. He was the only one deserving to know the intensity of her powerful Bankai. Telling him that when she absorbed the bodies of the dead she completely removed them from the cycles of death and rebirth, he told her the ability of her zanpaktou for that reason alone would be forbidden, unless given previous permission to use it in battle by his truly. With this she continued on making the Kido Corps a better division, expanding upon the knowledge of those around her, and two years came and went.
RP SAMPLE: The Kido corps decided to have a training exercise today at the Gotei 13 training academy training grounds. It would be one on one match, anything goes. Rin decided that today of all days she would reveal a part of her Shikai to her friends, and higher ups of the Kido Corps. She felt like it was a more appropriate time than any other to reveal this. The small stands filled themselves with academy members and mostly Kido Corps members with a few other divisions also deciding to come down that day for a part of the training exercise. Her Captain and Lieutenant, taking a seat at the top of the stands as they looked eagerly down at their division, first up for battle was none other than the headless Rin herself and another member from her division.
Held tightly in her right arm was the current book she was reading, a book in the human world known as, “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table” in her book the book mark of her sealed zanpaktou. The only reason she brought the book onto the battle field is it would play a vital part in today’s match. They were ordered to draw their zanpaktou’s and with one swift movement she removed the book mark from her book. The book mark measuring eight inches long by four inches wide, the top fourth of it being black while the rest of it was pure white, she gripped it in her hand. With one thought the book mark transformed into a regular zanpaktou blade, mimicking the colors of the book mark she had been holding.
Admittedly as soon as the fight started the two kido corps members met blades, with a brief kick she sent her opponent flying back, and she decided she would waste no time revealing her new found ability. ”Knowledge is power, Choksaku!” gasps were heard throughout the audience as even the Captain’s eyes grew wide. It was almost unheard of that someone so young could learn their Shikai. With this command her sword turned into black leather bound book, a foot high, eight inches in width and six inches deep. Taking the book she opened it as she grinned at her opponent, “Transform, Choksaku,” she plunged her hand into her book, pulling out a beautiful blade that had only been imagined in fables.
Excalibur, with the beauty of this blade people couldn’t help but divert their eyes, as she grasped it with two hands. With new found determination she tossed her leather bound book into the air which temporally disappeared from sight, it could be called again at another time. She met blades once again with her now shocked opponent.
Quickly over taking him with but a few purposeful shallow blows, as she held two fingers up showing that he surrendered, tossing the blade up into the air, she summoned her book, opening it as the blade plunged into it and disappeared from sight. An applause filled the small area as her Shikai returned to its sealed state and she gave a quick bow to those around her, “Maybe it’s the book is mightier than the sword?” she yelled out with what seemed to be a disembodied voice, but could be tracked to the head that no longer appeared to be there. She was happy that she could reveal her Shikai to those around her, and glad that she could still be innovative enough to throw her Captain and Lieutenant off guard. She left battle grounds, finding a welcoming seat in the arena, getting several slaps on the back on her way there. With shouts of congratulations being given to those who knew her well enough, it was a happy day indeed, and the only thing she could think at the moment was, ”If only they could see the smile on my face.”
