Words: 476 Notes: -- == Jizzfest members And the science gets done And you make a neat gun Her attempt at trapping the arrancar proved to be more or less pointless. He moved a bit too fast for it to be so easy. Of course the brute was going to be a tougher opponent to take out. Logic just always had to work that way. He probably had a skull filled with nothing but perfect tans and appearances and maybe a bit of fighting. Nothing of use that would really make him stronger than her but here he was holding more power. She really despised that sort of thing. She narrowed her eyes at the flying arrancar, drawing her released tape back toward her other wrist, sure some kind of attack was coming. And because she was the smart one here she was right. The man was swinging his blade her way and her tape reached her just in time to form a band in front of her that blocked the whip like blade before the orange energy dispersed. He wasn't done though it seemed. He was shooting off more of those bala. Ariella watched them closely, doing the math in her head as each was fired, knowing where they would hit. She only had to lunge to the right once to avoid the main barrage that had been fired at her and with that she had escaped.
He wasn't even done then though. A moment later he was in front of her, throwing a fist right at her. Ariella felt her adrenaline rush and things seemed to move a lot slower for a moment as it came right for her torso. At the same time she spotted Gray over to the side, likely getting ready for something. There was really only one sure way to keep Ghenaro nice and still now. She braced herself, turning her feet slightly on the side walk and opening her arms a bit. The next thing she knew that punch landed right into her abdomen, knocking the air right out of her. As she let out her gasp she nearly forgot her plan but managed to take hold of the arrancar, gritting her teeth and forcing herself to focus. She wrapped her arms tightly around his, keeping her ground and pulling him to stay right where he was with strength a girl her size shouldn't have had. She wasn't just a brainiac. She wanted to keep the arrancar there, positive that it would be a lot easier to hit a still target with whatever Gray was going to use. She didn't want Ghenaro leaping up again.
When she could tell the attack went by, a hit or not, Ariella wasn't planning to stick around to get hit again. She released Ghenaro should she have had her hold on him to begin with. Before she fully got away though she activated the enlarging discs of orange energy that spun around those of her ankles and wrists. she made a quick slash right for the arrancar's chest, hoping to leave a deep cut before she pushed away with her foot, lunging back about twenty feet before that sword of Ghenaro's could be used. As it was so far she was getting a llot more attention than Gray and she really didn't want to end up sliced to bits because of it.
Now she was closer to Gray again, at least in a better place to talk than when she had been face to fist with the arrancar. "There's still one more of them around here. He's likely just the weakling. Don't waste too much on him" she said in a plain yet cocky sounding tone, like she thought it would be so easy to take down a higher ranking fraccion. She looked over her shoulder, clearly not worried about said fraccion. She was more worried about what she had heard before. It had been quiet for far too long. Gray could take one for the team this time and let her be the one to fire off some attack.

[cs=2][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px, bTable] COLD like ice that which stops even the time of life itself |
[cs=2][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; border-top: 3px solid #111; margin-top: -10px, bTable] Gray didn't bother asking Ariella if she was all right when she came to stand near him. She would probably just give him one of those stupid looks if he did. Besides, she looked fine. "I know that," he said in response to her, a tad irritably, as if he was tired of being told what to do. Just because he couldn't sense her for some messed up reason, didn't mean he couldn't sense others. Honestly, he was quite sure that she had some kind of equipment that made her hard to sense. It didn't make sense otherwise.
Gray was jolted back into reality by a sudden, large spike in Ghenaro's reiatsu. A different form? he wondered. he had never seen anything like it before. But the guy did look more like a hollow now, especially with the tail and claws. Whatever the case, Gray was pretty sure that this guy had been granted some sort of boost in power. "That's just great," he sighed. Ariella seemed to be sitting back for now, so he figured it was his turn to attack. What great timing.
Another sword formed in Gray's hand, but this one was a lot larger; a greatsword of roughly six feet in length. It was also significantly harder, like steel, and was capable of freezing whatever it touched. "You took the words right out of my mouth," Gray said with a smirk. With that, he wasted no time in jumping Ghenaro, swinging the massive sword down towards his right shoulder. Not only could it leave a deep, possibly life-threatening cut, but it would also freeze where it cut him. Even if he dodged, the sword would leave a wake of ice after the slash, which would still freeze the arrancar unless he took to the skies, which would be good for them considering the environment they were currently fighting in.

Colin hummed quietly to himself as the three people below chatted. This was going a bit slowly, but he suspected that wouldn’t last long. Most Hollow and Arrancar were impatient, self-centered and violent. He was guilty of at least two of those traits, though he liked to think he was a tad more patient than most and slightly less violent than most. And it seemed that the other Arrancar wasn’t going to watch the entertainment, let along participate. It seemed this little Fraccion below was on its own. And it would probably strike first. He focused on the Fraccion, finally recognizing him as the one that belonged to that insufferable twit of an Espada – Rou. What was its name? Grayson? Gordon? Gimli? No, Gimli was a character in Lord of the Rings. Colin shrugged. He would remember eventually.
Were they not done talking yet? Surely the threats had already been exchanged. No one was going to back down. Why had nothing happened yet? There it was. The Fraccion lashed out first, as anticipated. This one was a bit weaker, but the human and shinigami weren’t much better. Between the two of them, they would probably be a match for Gabriel. No, its name wasn’t Gabriel. Oh, the shinigami was unleashing its Zanpakuto. Colin wrinkled his nose. Orange was an ugly color. Well, there was no accounting for taste among the shinigami. They were all bastards, after all. Ooo, the human did things with ice. That was new to him. Colin leaned forward excitedly. Humans were capable of such magic? Had he been capable of that kind of power?
He rested his elbows on his knees and his chin on his hands as the battle unfolded. The human and shinigami were fighting smart. There was no doubt about that. But Gerard – no, it wasn’t a Gerard – was clearly not an idiot. He was giving them a run for their money so far, but surely it couldn’t last. It was two to one. Ooo, they scored a strike! And then a second blow! He would have applauded were it not for the fact that he was supposed to be on Galchobhar’s side. He scrunched his nose briefly. Ugh, it was definitely not a Galchobhar, though that felt closer to its name than the others he had come up with.
Colin blinked as the Arrancar below spiked its reiatsu. Really, it was surprising that no one had noticed what was going on by now. Surely at least some of the humans would pay attention to what the ice-human was doing. The world could be so oblivious sometimes. He wondered how they would spin the damage that this battle was going to cause to the surroundings. Gas main breaking? Car crash? Nah, the broken gas main would be the best way to go with. And now that Ghenaro – that was his name! – had unveiled its Resurrección, there was definitely going to be massive amounts of damage. Perhaps he should step in now. There was no point in involving the sheeple unnecessarily. Colin sighed. Yes, he had to interfere. He pulled Estampido Supersónico from its holster and sonido’d behind the shinigami and ice-human. He landed silently a few feet behind them as a massive ice sword formed in the ice-human’s hand. “You took the words right out of my mouth.”
God, it sounded like a cocky little human. Oh, it was already trying to strike Ghenaro. That could possibly be a dangerous wound if he connected. Colin flicked his whip from the side, hoping to wrap it around the ice-human’s wrist before the sword struck.

Words: 509 Notes: -- == Jizzfest members And the science gets done And you make a neat gun There was blood being slung off of that disk around her wrist when she got away from the arrancar. That was a good sign. she had witnessed him first hand taking some of Gray's attack and then her own. He was stronger than them individually but that did't mean he could so easily defeat them. In all honestly Ariella was starting to think they really could win this. The only substantial hit either of them has taken was the hit Ariella had been dealt. Other than that things were looking to be going in their favor. This arrancar really was just a big muscle head it seemed.
While she was busy looking at Gray when he used some kind of annoyed tone with her that muscle head was busy doing something. She tilted her head, staring the the fullbringer. What was up with him? She was just trying to help since he seemed challenged at sensing things. Se pursed her lips, about to say something when they was a rise in reiatsu. Her head shot back to Ghenaro instantly. She hadn't even thought about him using his resurreccion. Things got a tad more complicated now. She kept her distance though as Gray went in for his own attack. She'd give him room to do what he needed. Besides she'd taken her hit and it was his turn.
At that same moment Ariella heard some one land behind her and the full pressure of that presence she had sensed a bit earlier was beating down on her. She visibly paled, turning around quickly, a man standing there. He didn't look that threatening save for his overall scary demeanor. He looked a bit like a chick if Ariella were being honest. She didn't really have time to think about that though. He had drawn a whip from his side and Ariella made a move to try and intercept the whip, lunging and lashing out with her hand again, hoping she could catch the whip with the circle saw like energy spinning around her wrist. Cutting the ship in half would be nice but not likely. She'd likely be stopped before she could get to that point. Things had gone from probably okay to way out of control in a matter of seconds.
Ariella didn't care to let things go on to long. The energy disc around her hands were being whipped at the newcomer a second after she had made her slice at his whip, which hopefully at least didn't get to stop Gray. She then made a leap backwards, landing in a crouch and kicking one of her legs out quickly with strong a force, sending another disc flying at Colin. She was sure this was a weak attempt at trying to get rid of the new arrancar. He would probably just laugh at the girl who was left with only one more disc at her disposal. What else was she going to do though? She didn't think even running away would save them at this point.

[tr] Now, Ghenaro was a tad angered. He had been hit, damaged by two who were supposed to be weaker than him. However, their teamwork had been something he had underestimated. Perhaps the Fraccion had been a bit hasty when believing he could crush them so easily. But that no longer mattered, as his eyes widened, seeing Colin. "Colin-sama..." He whispers, preparing himself to bow before stopping. This was no time to bow in respect, this was the time to kill.
But before he could really do anything, he Sonidoed back to the right of Gray, dodging the swipe. He frowned and shot a Bala at it, trying to destroy the ice sword and give him some time to perform his next few actions.
Turning his head, he looks at the troublesome girl, glancing at her ears. He smirks, his frill suddenly opening. "Silbido!" He shrieks, activating his first power. The air and wind around him are channeled into his mouth, which let's out a very high-frequency shriek. Now, normally this would disorientate a normal person, but perhaps with her ears....he grinned as the blast shot out at her.
Then, he Sonidoed faster than before. After all, his speed was his best trait. He Sonido's to the little girl, and smashes his head down into hers, before attempting to grab her and smash her head into his knee repeatedly. He didn't take those who wounded him lightly.

[cs=2][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px, bTable] COLD like ice that which stops even the time of life itself |
[cs=2][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; border-top: 3px solid #111; margin-top: -10px, bTable] Intent only on attacking Ghenaro, Gray didn't notice the presence of the other Arrancar that had appeared behind him until after he had swung. The white-haired Arrancar disappeared from sight and the icy great sword was left to slam into the ground, actually leaving cracks in the pavement there. The ground even started to freeze where the blade made contact with it. Too bad it hadn't hit anything useful.
Seconds later, Gray felt something wrap around his neck. He immediately straightened up and his free hand went to his neck, prying at whatever had restrained him. He wasn't stupid enough to try and pull against it, but he couldn't just stand there. Still grasping the whip around his neck, Gray took a couple steps back. Because of the distraction, he didn't see Ghenaro firing the Bala. A few chips of ice flew through the air from the impact of the blast, and Gray's arm was wrenched painfully to the side, but other than that, there was no noticeable damage to the icy blade or its wielder. It was going to take a lot more than a single Bala to shatter Cold Excalibur. However, the force of it knocked the blade right out of Gray's hands, sending it sliding across the ground and out of reach. Dammit!
Ghenaro was attacking Ariella now. He could hear a high-pitched screeching sound, but that was the least of Gray's worries right now. A white aura glowed about his and as he attempted to freeze the thing that was wrapped around his neck in order make it brittle enough to break. The second he managed to either break the whip or get free by some other means, Gray would dive for the battered great sword. Whatever had just joined the fray, he wasn't keen on facing it unarmed.

The whip lashed out and for a moment, Colin was certain that he would land on the boy’s wrist. But at the last second, he noticed an incoming flash of orange and jerked Estampido slightly to avoid the strange disc of energy that flashed by mere centimeters above the whip. He wrinkled his nose in irritation. He failed to wrap around the ice-human’s wrist, but the attack wasn’t a total loss at least. Ghenaro had managed to leap out of the way and his whip wrapped around the ice-human’s neck. He pulled back on the whip to ensure a snug grip on the ice-human’s neck before turning his body slightly to look at the orange-bitch. He didn’t even flinch as a second orange disk ripped past his pelvis, shredding the fabric of his jacket and shirt. He frowned as he felt a cool breeze brush across his exposed skin – and probably at least part of his Espada tattoo. “Go play with Ghenaro, brat. I have no interest in blonde bimbos like you – they’re a dime a dozen.”
The clatter of ice on pavement drew Colin’s attention back to the ice-human. So Ghenaro had disarmed him – how polite of the Fraccion. He lifted his free hand up and gripped the whip, pulling it towards him as he started moving towards the ice-human. He paid little attention to what Ghenaro was doing now. He could hear a high-pitched screech and assumed the Fraccion was attacking the orange-bitch. That was fine by him. He really had no interest in her right now, despite her strange reiatsu. The ice-human was far stranger. And the white aura around its hand was a tad troubling. Was it trying to freeze his whip? He jerked the whip so that it spun the human around – simultaneously unwinding the whip from its neck. God, it was such a scrawny thing. He gave it a moment to reorient itself, even allowed it to spin around and dive for its sword. As it stood up, sword in hand, he pointed a slender index finger at the sword. Red reiatsu coalesced at the tip of his finger. “No one breaks my whip, boy,” he said, firing the cero towards the ice-human’s sword.

Words: 556 Notes: -- == Jizzfest members And the science gets done And you make a neat gun Ariella's aid had backfired. She had saved his hand but then the whip had altered its course to wrap right around his neck. She gave him a glance but didn't dare apologize. She didn't do that kind of thing. As soon as she looked at Gray she was looking right back at Colin to see how useful any of her attacks had been. She was just in time to see one of those discs hit him but for once she wished one of her attacks had failed. When everything cleared Ariella looked to the spot she had hit and knew right then that they were in some major trouble. She saw the gothic style marking of the number one. Another number could have been hidden but even an arrancar in the teens was bad news. Judging by the power she sensed from this man it was a lot less simple than just a teen arrancar.
He showed no interest in Ariella herself. In fact he bluntly stated that he wanted nothing to do with her. She wasn't sure what exactly a blonde bimbo was but she was guessing it wasn't a compliment by his tone and use of the word. She didn't much appreciate being bad mouthed right to her face. She was about to make her own move on the man when suddenly there was that first arrancar that was actually still around. She had nearly forgotten about him. He let out a high pitched shriek, probably thinking it would cause her some kind of severe pain with the way her enhanced hearing worked. Evidently this man had no idea what her powers really were. He was oblivious to the fact that she had just had such high frequency sound around her wrists and well within her hearing range. Using sound on her wasn't the way to go. Sure it muffled up her second ears while it lasted but it wasn't going to do much more than that.
Ariella gave the arrancar a dull, bored look. She didn't want him around anymore. She had a lot more important things to deal with right now, like the other arrancar who had gone after Gray now. She bit the inside of her lip as she thought. She didn't have too much of an option right now. She placed her hand over her face before quickly swiping it down and as she did so a mask formed, following her fingers. No other shinigami was around. She could use this freely for now. She could bank on no one expecting that of her and she was going to take the time of surprise that would help her out a bit. She held out that same hand and in a moment an orange beam, ringing with blasting sound, was shot at Ghenaro, aiming right for his chest. Not only would it direct sound right into his ears at a volume and pitch that could deafen one, but it would also but like taking a direct hit right to where ever it landed and with her strength boosted from her mask it would be stronger than anything she had manged so far. If she hit her mark perfectly he would like go flying. Maybe she could even break something or incapacitate him if she were lucky.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true]There's no need to change the past. Because of the past, we are who we are now. Every second, every action from then is linked to us here and now◣ | ◣ As he was trying to freeze the whip that was currently wrapped around his neck, Gray could hear someone - presumably the new arrival - speaking from behind him. He could only assume that the newcomer was speaking to Ariella. "Asshole..." Whoever this guy was, he sounded like a snooty bitch. If not for his overwhelming Reiatsu, Gray would have been glad that he was the one fighting the newcomer. Before, himself and Ariella had stood a decent chance against Ghenaro, but now that this other Arrancar was here, Gray wasn't overly optimistic.
He could feel himself being pulled backward. Shit. He didn't let up, trying to freeze the whip and get free before it was too late. Just when he thought he was almost there, Gray was sent spinning. He quickly recovered when he realized that the whip wasn't around his neck anymore. It sucked that he hadn't been able to break it, though. Facing the Arrancar now, Gray was confused for a moment. In stark contrast to the weaker Arrancar, this one didn't look like much of a fighter. In fact, he looked more like a girl. However, that wasn't really the point. For whatever reason, this guy was just standing around. Gray took that chance to dive for Cold Excalibur. He stood up quickly afterwards, wondering how he should go about attacking. At the very least, he felt a lot less defenseless with the cold reassurance of one of his weapons. But the Arrancar beat him to it, pointing at him, and before Gray could retaliate, firing a beam of red light.
It seemed as if the Arrancar was in a hurry to break the ice with Gray (trololol). He could only stare, wide-eyed, as his blade was shattered almost instantaneously by the blast. Gray was sent flying backwards by the force of the impact and landed on his back roughly fifteen feet away. Sluggishly, he got to his feet a few seconds later, his hand to his head. The blast had raised a cloud of dust and smoke around the general area, so Gray was obscured from view, for the most part. For it to be broken so easily... He couldn't afford to mess around now; that much was clear. But did it really even matter? As he crouched there, ice began to cover Gray's forearms. They soon formed into blades; one curved and jutting back from his left forearm, and the other jutting straight out over his right hand. But that wasn't all. Gray also slammed his right hand onto the ground beneath him. The ground from his position, right up to the ground beneath the stronger Arrancar's feet froze over. Gray was hoping that this would distract the Arrancar or maybe even trip him while he jumped out of the smoke cloud, slid across the ice, and attacked using the extra momentum it granted him.
With his sense of balance and the fact that he was used to it, Gray knew that he wouldn't slip on the ice. Hopefully, it was a different story for his opponent. When he was close, Gray jumped up into the air above the Arrancar, slashing towards his head with the blade on his right arm before he flipped over and landed behind him. Not wasting any time, Gray punched towards his back with his right, sending the curved blade in a horizontal arc towards the Arrancar's back.
Gray didn't usually attack so viciously, but this was serious. One mistake, and not only himself, but Ariella, and many others could end up dead. He could still hear her fighting with Ghenaro not too far off. She might be able to beat him, but Gray knew he couldn't beat this other guy. After feeling the power of the Cero earlier, he knew that there was just no way. He didn't even have a plan other than whatever he came up with on the spot. And yet, he couldn't bring himself to run away. First of all, they could easily catch him. Plus, he would be abandoning the Shinigami to deal with both of them by herself. Even if he didn't know her, it would bug Gray to leave her like that. He didn't need something like that on his conscience.◣ | ◣TAGGED: Ariella, Ghenaro, Colin ◣WORDS: 705 ◣NOTES: --

Colin sighed slightly. The ice-human had tried to block his cero, causing the sword to completely shatter. Now there was dust and smoke from the mini-explosion obstructing his view of the ice-human. He’d had such high hopes for this one. Perhaps he should have gone for the blonde bimbo after all. This one had clearly not made the smoke screen intentionally, though Colin suspected the ice-human was making good use of its new camouflage. He could still sense its reiatsu and felt it surging as the ice-human prepared something for him. He strode forward, each step smooth and confident. There was very little this human could do to damage him. In fact, he supposed he would simply prove the point. So he stopped several feet from the cloud, settled into a strong and centered stance, and waited. The strike would come any moment.
And he wasn’t disappointed. In seconds, ice had shot across the ground to where he stood and crept up his legs – temporarily freezing him in place. He frowned slightly for a brief moment before simply shrugging. He could easily break free. This simply served his own purpose; the ice-human just didn’t know it. Moments after the ice appeared, the ice-human swiftly slid out of the cloud and leapt into the air once it was close enough to strike. It was actually rather graceful and impressive to watch. He would have to commend the ice-human later for managing such a feat in the midst of battle. But for now, he simply jerked his free hand upwards and held the palm outward to block the incoming strike from the fearsome-looking blade that had formed on the ice-human’s right arm. He winced slightly as the blade bit into his flesh – a testament to the ice-human’s strength. Perhaps he had discounted this one a tad too hastily. He hissed slightly as a second strike sliced into his back. Thank God this outfit was already ruined otherwise he would have been seriously pissed.
He sighed again as he stretched his back, feeling it crack as he did so. He twisted his body so that he could look squarely in the ice-human’s eyes. “Was that supposed to severely damage me?” He grinned ferally and licked at his bleeding palm. After a moment, he jerked his feet free from the encrusted ice and leapt away from it. He landed gracefully several feet to the left. “If it’s a battle of blades, you seek…” He stretched out his free hand and ripped open a small Garganta. Casually tossing the bullwhip into the Garganta, he reached in and pulled a gleaming blood red scabbard out. “Then a battle of blades you shall get, little boy.” The Garganta closed and Colin wrapped his right hand around the cold steel hilt. In the span of a heartbeat, he withdrew Estampido Supersonico and spun the scabbard so that he could more firmly grip it in his left hand.
The grin never left his face as he sonido’d across the distance and swung at the ice-human’s gut. He was really just messing around right now; not even half his strength was behind the strike. If the ice-human was going to fight him when it was clearly out-matched, then he would not play nice with it. He would tire it out. He would wear down its spirit. He would bring it to the brink of death. And then he would let it go. He laughed as he slashed at the ice-human again and again, trying to slowly drive it backwards beneath his onslaught. He would teach this human how foolish it was to swipe at its superiors.

Words: idk Notes: -- == Jizzfest members And the science gets done And you make a neat gun The man moved out of the way of her attack. That was hardly a surprising fact. Ariella never had the best endings when it came to hitting things. Her eyes followed him to the roof he decided to make his perch. Well it seemed she wasn't going to immediately get around to helping Gray out. She couldn't even get the free chance to look his way to make sure he wasn't dead or something. She had more to worry about than the macho man arrancar that had been deemed her opponent since the other man had an iddue with her hair or something. 'People are shallow huh?' a voice echoed in her head, and a slight look of surprise crossed Ariella's features beneath the cover of the mask, not that it would have been noticeable anyway. This was happening sooner than she expected it to. She couldn't even rightly do away with the issue in that instant. If she did she was done for. Not to mention there was some hesitation in her hands about getting to close to her face. It seemed Lamia was in enough control to get some power over her limbs already. Great.
A sweet sounding laugh resounded from behind her mask and her posture seemed to change a bit, more leaning and light. Things had just gone further than Ariella had expected them to. Before she knew it her world was fading in and out of black and white, flashing to the clouds of her inner world and back to the city she was fighting in. Finally Lamia won over control, leaving Ariella to fight her way back to her own body. In the mean time she had an issue to take care of. She didn't have long to get back into the flow of having control over this body before the man that had given Ariella so much trouble was making his attack. She ducked down for the first strike her made, the wind slicing away at the ends of her hair that Lamia never cared for anyway. The next attack he had wasn't as easy to block. She held her arms out above her, the blade of wind connecting with the cuffs around her wrists. This at least stopped it from completely slicing down and cutting her from head to toe. It couldn't save her arms completely though, thouse winds tearing down along her forearms and at her hands where it could get to them.
"I can assure you I fight really well, Mr. Arrancar" she sounded diffeent, more childish and not so serious and dull as before. "Let me show you, hm~" While the man was still so close and right above her, Ariella leaped up from her crouched position on the ground. She twisted in the air, bringing her leg around to slam right into his arm with all the force she had in her small body, which was a surprisingly great amount. It could have easily been enough to do some internal damage. Kicking off from the arrancar or simply making a full turn right back to the ground, she didn't keep her feet planted for long, launching herself in whatever direction he might have gone, sent flying from her kick or dodging. She had her fist drawn back, aiming to send it right into the man's stomach if she were lucky to get so close. At the same time another flat form of glowing orange sound shot out from her cuff, shooting out toward the arrancar to wrao around and bind him. Ariella hadn't been as lucky with this tactic but Lamia was a lot closer and a hell of a lot better than Ariella could ever hope to be.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true]There's no need to change the past. Because of the past, we are who we are now. Every second, every action from then is linked to us here and now◣ | ◣ The Arrancar had managed to block Gray's first strike. But of course, it had been a somewhat fatal shot; he fully expected it to be blocked. He at least managed to land his second blow, but for whatever reason didn't do near as much damage as he thought he would have. What the Hell...? Gray jumped back just in case his opponent decided to attack without warning. The Arrancar barely seemed fazed at all. This wasn't good. If this was all the damage Gray could do with Hyoujin... No, he wasn't going to puss out now. He just needed to swing harder; that was it.
The Fullbringer glared back at the Arrancar when it taunted him. He almost found it hard not to step back even further, but he wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. "Not at all," he said coolly, insinuating that he could do a lot more. There was more where that came from. He would make it happen.
Gray perked up when the Arrancar started talking again. By this point, it had discarded its whip for a sword. Maybe that was a good thing. Gray could fight almost anyone under the table when it came to close combat. But this guy was insanely powerful and seemed pretty confident. He had a feeling that this wouldn't go over quite so easily. He chose not to respond to the Arrancar's words this time, instead waiting for him to attack.
Moments later, the Arrancar disappeared. Gray knew what this meant. It was the high speed transportation move for Arrancars; what he thought of as their variant of Bringer Light. Not having even a clue of where his opponent would appear next, he didn't dare to use his own. He could end up flying right into another attack. He wouldn't have had time, anyway. The Arrancar appeared directly in front of Gray. Barely even registering its presence before it began slashing at him, Gray only took half a step backwards. He was still cut by the sword, but it wasn't anything serious. He could just freeze it to stop the bleeding, whenever he got a chance, anyway.
Gray raised his left arm to block the next few slashes. Each strike sent a jarring feeling up his arm and he was forced to step back. This guy was obviously a lot stronger than he looked. The one advantage Gray thought he might have had in this had just flown out the window. The ice blade on his left arm started to crack. Each blow broke another piece off. It couldn't handle the force. Unless Gray wanted to get his arm cut off, he had to do something, and fast.
He still had five swipes left in Nanarenbu. He was going to make them count. Concentrate! Gray waited only for the Arrancar's next slash. When it came, he dropped down low enough so that the blade cut through the air right above his head. By that time, he would hopefully be inside of the Arrancar's range. Now he used Bringer Light in conjunction with an upward jump. He used it only to speed up his slash and hopefully catch the Arrancar off-guard. With speed that he really shouldn't have been able to handle, Gray disappeared briefly as he leapt up towards the Arrancar from his spot on the ground, his right arm raised as if he were going to uppercut his opponent. Using the uncanny force and speed the Bringer Light gave him, he aimed to make a deep diagonal slash across its entire torso. Even if he missed, Bringer Light would send him up into the sky and hopefully, out of the Arrancar's range.◣ | ◣TAGGED: Ariella, Colin ◣WORDS: 608 ◣NOTES: skipping ghenaro

Devilish delight danced in Colin’s eyes as his strikes gradually chipped away at the ice sword. Ice-boy would have to do something quick, lest Colin slice its whole arm off. That would be most unfortunate – not to mention boring. He wanted to be entertained while teaching this whelp a lesson, damn it all! Why else would he not simply obliterate the child with a well-placed cero and be done with this? But again, he wasn’t giving Ice-boy quite enough credit. It ducked his next swipe, letting the blade whistle by above its head. That’s right, boy. Give me a bit of a challenge.
He wasn’t disappointed. With Ice-boy inside his range, his torso was dangerously exposed. On instinct he lifted his left foot up, leaned back and aimed a kick at the boy’s gut. As his leg launched out, he pushed back off the ground – both moves designed to put some distance between himself and Ice-boy’s blade. It turned out to be a wise decision. The blade still bit into him, but nowhere near as deep had he not already been moving away. He laughed as he leapt backwards, watching the boy flash up into the sky with remarkable speed. “That’s it, Ice-boy! Give me something to work with!”
Blood was soaking through Colin’s shirt rapidly, making it stick uncomfortably to his skin. That had been a good hit. He hated fighting the weak. And while this boy wasn’t particularly strong, it was at least clever. And that speed was definitely impressive. But it wouldn’t be good enough against him. He licked his lips and followed the boy into the air with a burst of sonido. He appeared to the boy’s right and swung at the ice-blade with Estampido’s scabbard. This time, he didn’t pull back any of his strength. If it connected, he was going to break something.
After he had lashed out, he sonido’d once more – this time appearing directly behind Ice-boy. Once again he swung out with the scabbard, aiming to hit near Ice-boy’s left kidney. It was only quarter-strength this time, but kidney shots were a bitch. He repeated this process a few more times, sonidoing to another spot before lashing out with the scabbard. After the first strike, he didn’t put more than half his strength into any hit – often he wouldn’t even use a third of his full strength. Humans were so terribly delicate, after all.
He soon grew bored of that little game, though. Humans were also not particularly fast either. It wasn’t exactly fair to be zipping about like he was. Well…the whole fight wasn’t really fair to begin with, but one could only push one’s own advantage so far before things got ridiculous. He stopped in mid-air about ten feet in front of Ice-boy. He surveyed his handiwork, contemplating what route he wished to take next. He really shouldn’t linger over this little bout. He was still steadily bleeding from the gashes in his torso and back, not to mention the blood slicking his palm. He was going to have to scrub himself at least four times to get rid of the sticky feeling. The thought made him wrinkle his nose.
On the plus side, he had plenty of blood at his disposal for a Gran Rey Cero if he really wanted to do the whole overkill thing. But that would really be a last resort. Ice-boy hadn’t irritated him that badly. He grinned. “You really should have just left, Ice-boy,” he remarked casually. “You won’t be winning this one. But if you’re lucky, I may just let you live another day.” He sonido’d in close again and slashed at the boy’s gut – just a straight line from left to right.
