sex: I don’t know male | sexual orientation: Indeterminable | race: Shinigami ALIASES:The Emerald Knight AGE:1066 AGE OF APPEARANCE:16 SQUAD:Kido Corps RANK:Lieutenant
When hope is gone and you give up the fight FACE CLAIM:Gundam 00 – Tieria Erde
HEIGHT:177cm
WEIGHT:61kg
APPEARANCE: Nakai’s build is, to be frank, nothing to write home about. He’s not particularly tall, and his actual build makes him look somewhat weak. However, this betrays his actual physical ability. While not on par with other, more physically-oriented Shinigami, Nakai is still capable of keeping up with them. His skin tone, however, is remarkably pallid. Some would even go so far as to say that his skin tone is unhealthy – and, while it certainly does look that way, Nakai does not actually face any such problems. His pallor is, in fact, simply a part of his appearance – nothing more.
Complimenting his thin – and rather feminine – face, Nakai’s hair is long, for a man. It reaches down to just below his shoulders, and hangs straight – waviness is not an option for him. Nakai’s hair is dark purple in colour, though not to the extent that it would look black at a distance. His eyes are red, and are a shade reminiscent of Burgundy wine. They are, however, frequently obscured by his glasses. Round and silver-framed, his glasses, are considerably larger than what most would have, though not to the point where they could be considered abnormal. On occasion, they will slip down his nose while he isn’t paying attention.
When not wearing his traditional Soul Reaper garb, Nakai’s taste in clothing is… varied. For the most part, he tends to wear clothing that is both smart, and comfortable. He will, when in casual clothing, be most often seen donning a shirt and smart trousers. While the trousers are invariably black, with the traditional crease down the middle of the legs, his shirts will often vary in colour, among the darker ones in the spectrum. He does seem to favour purple and red over most other colours, however, given that they complement his eyes and/or hair. His shoes are usually nothing special, just black or brown leather lace-ups.
Sometimes, however, when nobody’s looking, he’ll put his remarkably feminine features to good use. Namely, by cross-dressing. It’s actually quite astounding how well he pulls off women’s clothing. He does, however, consistently wear smart clothing, as opposed to something overly-provocative. A big fan of pleated skirts, his will be charcoal or dark grey in colour, with more vivid ones reserved for special occasions. He will usually wear a shirt in conjunction to this – a woman’s, of course, with any extra “padding” necessary in order to keep the act convincing. However, he likes to keep the shoes flat – despite his years, Nakai has not mastered the art of walking in heels.

ZANPAKUTO:name: Viintaas Suleyk
sealed form: When in its sealed form, Viintaas Suleyk takes the form of a standard kodachi. Short and speedy, the blade is well-suited to Nakai. Its blade is polished steel, with a vicious point and edges that look like they could split an atom in two. But they can’t. Because that would be a terrible idea. The guard appears to be made out of brass, while the actual handle itself is a plain green.
spirit: Standing at around six feet tall, Viintaas Suleyk has a humanoid shape, but apart from that, does not really appear much more human than most other beings of cosmic energy given shape. His build appears to be an athletic one, though discerning what kind of “hair” he has is difficult without asking him directly. The energy that constitutes his entire body is light green in colour, and though it seems to be energy given physical form, the glow emitted from it isn’t particularly strong. The eyes are the only body part exempt from this rule – they are white instead, though glow brightly enough to be distinguished from the rest of the body.
Viintaas Suleyk may appear to be a mysterious energy creature from the depths of space, but in reality, acts more like Saito did when in the academy. Despite any adversities being faced, he will do what he can to make sure the task is completed. However, above all, he is also a foil to Saito’s characteristics. While Saito will constantly belittle those he doesn’t care for, Viintaas believes people are created equal, and life can either raise or lower them. His optimism combats Saito’s pessimism as well. However, both of them share one thing – the desire for justice. While they may disagree over how to achieve it, they both work to try and enforce it.
inner world: Floating in the depths of space, Viintaas Suleyk’s inner world is based on a large asteroid, floating in place, suspended by the complete lack of gravity. On it is a wide, circular floor, made out of what appears to be emerald-green marble. Whenever Nakai transports himself to his Zanpakutō’s inner world, he always seems to appear on one end of the floor, while its spirit appears on the other side.
SHIKAI:release command: Grout Vokul, Viintaas Suleyk (Rout Evil, Shining Power)
description: In its Shikai form, Viintaas Suleyk changes form completely. The kodachi melts into a puddle of what looks like green sludge, but quickly reforms over Nakai’s hands. Now glowing green, the “gloves” each have a glowing, bright green circle in the middle of the palm. This is where the attacks are fired from. The Zanpakuto also hardens, but remains malleable – the level of protection and attack augmentation provided, however, is negligible. Unless you’re something like a fly.
type: Hand Cannons
techniques: For: Shikai Name: Pistol packing Type: Offensive Cooldown: Instant Cost: Very Low Range: Long, suffers massive damage falloff after mid-short Description: Nakai holds his hand in a “gun” shape – thumb pointing up, index finger extended. A small amount of glowing green energy is forced out of his finger, and is fired in a straight line. The attack does not have a cooldown, as such, but each shot must be spaced out by at least two seconds, or else Nakai risks blowing his finger clean off. While it’s not very powerful and has poor range for a projectile, its low cost and quick cooldown makes it an ideal “sidearm.”
For: Shikai Name: Needle Storm Type: Offensive Cooldown: 2 posts Cost: Low Range: Long, suffers massive damage falloff after mid-short Description: Nakai points his palm in the direction he wishes to point the attack, and from his palm a flurry of small green needles of energy are fired. While it has poor range for a ranged attack, and is only moderately powerful if all of its shots hit at point-blank, its rapid fire capabilities make it ideal for mid-short range encounters.
For: Shikai Name: Shellshock Type: Offensive Cooldown: 4 posts Cost: Medium Range: Short Description: Gripping his wrist for support, Nakai fires off a blast of green energy. The energy takes the form of an innumerable amount of smaller particles, each launched with massive force. While only taking a few particles hurts, it won’t do much. Take a majority of them, however, and you’ll feel their full force. Able to launch most average-weight Shinigami onto their backs, and make them feel like they've been kicked by a horse, the attack hurts like all hell. However, it suffers quite steep decrease in effectiveness, becoming little more than a bee sting beyond medium range.
For: Shikai Name: Bullet Punch Type: Offensive Cooldown: One post Cost: Medium-low Range: Close Description: A rapid one-two punch, augmented by a close-range blast of energy. Not particularly powerful, but useful for dealing with enemies who get too close for comfort.
BANKAI:note that you cannot start off with bankai unless the character is AV-3 or higher.
name: Zindro Viintaas Suleyk
description: In a sequence that is similar to a magical girl I cannot name here for legal reasons, Nakai’s body becomes enveloped in a bright light – a green one, to be exact. As the light drains from his body, it reveals his Bankai outfit. Nakai, in his Bankai, wears a skin-tight outfit, that appears to be a similar material to Kevlar. While the majority of the torso is green, the sleeves – below the shoulders - are black. In addition, the part of his form-fitting one-piece is coloured black, with knee-high green boots on his feet. In the middle of his chest, is a white circle – on it, in green, the symbol representing the Kido Corps is written. Viintaas Suleyk itself will revert briefly back into its goo state, and will then cover each of Nakai’s arms. Again, defence and attack increase provided by its hardening is negligible. It will appear as if crystals have grown over his arms and hands, and even a little beyond his shoulders.
type: Multipurpose Arm-Mounted Destroyers
stat upgrades: REI +4 SEI +4
techniques: For: Bankai Name: Six-Gun Slayer Type: Offensive Cooldown: Four posts once last shot has been fired Cost: Low Range: Mid-short Description: Using the same hand position used by Pistol Packing, Nakai instead has six small bolts of energy build up in his finger. Each shot produces a loud bang when fired, and kicks like a mule. However, for a bolt so small, each shot has remarkable power. So much so, that No more than two can be fired per turn, lest Nakai risk blowing his finger into giblets.
For: Bankai Name: Ratta-Tat-Tat Type: Offensive Cooldown: Three posts Cost: Moderate Range: Medium Description: Nakai holds his arm straight in the direction he wishes to fire, points his palm, and lets loose seven bolts of energy in rapid succession. Each bolt is moderately powerful, totalling up to a severely damaging attack if all bolts hit. However, due to the “short burst” nature of the attack, this isn’t very easy on anything but a still target.
For: Bankai Name: Superman Shot Type: Offensive Cooldown: Three posts Cost: Medium Range: Medium-short Description: Nakai briefly draws his fist back, taking a second or two to gather energy in it. He then throws a straight punch, unleashing a basketball-sized shot of energy, capable of tearing open thick sheet metal. However, due to the strain this places on Viintaas Suleyk, no techniques can be used for a post after – it needs to cool down.
For: Bankai Name: Ballistic Fists Type: Offensive Cooldown: Two posts Cost: Medium-low Range: Close Description: A small blast of energy is released whenever Nakai’s fist makes contact with something when punching it. Though not big enough to cause significant damage, or to affect Nakai himself, it greatly increases the damage of the punches he throws that actually make contact. Primarily used for when enemies get too close for comfort, however, due to Nakai specialising in ranged attacks.
HISTORY: Little is known about Nakai’s life as a living human. What he does remember isn’t very specific, and what he doesn’t remember is most of his life. He knows that he was born to a more well-off family, though not to the extent that they could afford a large house and whatnot. It was simply to the extent that he could live a little better than the other peasants. This was basically down to the fact that, when it came to farming, his parents knew the best things to do, and just when to do them. Unfortunately, farming knowledge wouldn’t protect against the illness that took him in a manner most undignified.
Life in the Rukongai was difficult – the streets were tough, so Nakai needed to be tougher. So, he got tougher. An old man he had shown kindness to took him in, and the two began to get along. Eventually, it was revealed that the old man was actually a master of a rather brutal style of hand-to-hand combat. And, at the cost of blood, sweat, tears and years, Nakai managed to build up an impressive repertoire of moves. He was by no means strong, but he made up for this in how he could run rings around the enemy before they realised they were getting beaten half to death.
But Nakai couldn’t go on in such a way for so long. Yes, he loved where he was, but apart from the old man, he never really got along with anyone. So, he set out to free himself from the Rukongai, to somewhere he felt he could put his skills to good use, as opposed to beating up some street thugs. The journey was arduous, the days were tiring and the nights were rough. But, after much wandering and a fair few punch-ups, the boy – well, man at that point in time – found his way to Where he needed to go. He was going to apply to be a Soul Reaper.
The academy was hardly a place where he felt comfortable, but nevertheless, Nakai liked it there a lot better than he did the Rukongai. His remarkable skill at close-quarters-combat was noted, but it was more an adeptness than an astounding display of strikes. His true forte lay in Kido, as it happened. He always seemed to be at the top of his class when it came to spells and incantations, and he always seemed to learn them quicker than most. It still wasn’t easy, but he just seemed to be able to grasp it better. But one small element was still missing – his Zanpakutō.
True, he had been spending every moment he could with the blade he had been loaned, but nothing had come of it. The spirit would not even so much as murmur in his general direction. However, upon learning a certain number of Kido – he forgets how much – he began hearing it. His Zanpakutō, calling out to him, begging to be heard. And, one night, Viintaas Suleyk’s voice grew louder, and his name was made clear to the sleeping student. The spirit appeared before Saito, telling him that for him to have even considered Saito worthy, the prospective Shinigami had had to prove his talent for Kido, lest his talents go to waste.
And thus, further training began. Though he had managed to learn his Zanpakutō’s name, he was yet to master using it. In the meantime, however, while few of the squads expressed much interest in taking him on, his talent for Kido did not go unnoticed. And thus, he was recruited into the Kido Corps. Sworn to secrecy, he was trained further in the art, and he trained himself in hand-to-hand combat in the meantime. He needed a backup plan, after all – if an enemy got too close, he needed quick access to attacks, as opposed to a wide range of spells useless if an enemy managed to get close enough to strike.
Climbing up through the ranks was tough, but Saito managed it well enough. Mission after mission was conducted, and while he couldn’t divulge details on any of them, he didn’t mind that much. He grew to like the fact that he could go unnoticed by the rest of the Soul Society, and rarely going out was part of his lifestyle anyway. And, after many exhausting battles, the news was received – though it was not official yet, the captain had informed Nakai that he was to be promoted to lieutenant. Rank he had worked o long for – granted, few knew he had worked so hard, but he was happy nonetheless.
Close-quarters-combat was not the only thing Nakai was bettering himself on, however. He would often train and meditate for hours on end, in order to achieve the next level of power – Bankai. And, while it took far longer than becoming a lieutenant had, he managed to claw his way up to the level needed for it. He was ecstatic – he had finally achieved a level of power that surpassed some captains. Not that he would, however, given that he was best suited for the field. Probably why he never expressed interest in becoming one himself, despite his proficiency in Kido, then.
Nakai continues to conduct his missions, usually alone. It’s not that he doesn’t like others, it’s more that they don’t like him. RP SAMPLE: The sound of clashing steel rang out, as two Soul Reapers battled against each other. The lieutenant of the Kido Corps, against a fugitive who certainly lived up to his reputation. He had been established as ruthless, and had no qualms about killing his fellow man. Nakai relished this challenge, however – a man such as this was likely to provide more sport than the mooks that constituted the standard infantry. And, though he specialised in Kido, that was not to say that he couldn’t hold his own when it came to close-quarters-combat. After all, he had managed to hold out this long, against a foe who was supposedly on most lieutenant’s levels.
In his desperation, the fugitive unleashed his Shikai, and used it to launch a sphere of energy at Nakai. However, it seemed that the man had forgotten Nakai’s speciality – Kido. With minimal effort, the lieutenant put his hand up, and used Enkosen to completely block the attack. In response, Nakai used a Hado spell, speaking its name in such a deadpan manner, that the weak-willed would feel quite the sense of foreboding. “Hado number thirty-three - Sōkatsui.” However, for the fugitive, however, it was the resulting blast that turned out to be the thing he would have to fear. The look on his face said it all. “Oh, sh-“
The fugitive attempted to do his best to block, being too slow to dodge effectively, but didn’t manage to completely negate it. In fact, he was thrown back several feet, and didn’t look like he was doing too well when he got back up. “Still feeling up to fighting me?” “Shut it, pretty boy.” Using Shunpo, the fugitive sped to Nakai’s rear, and attempted to sash him. However, Nakai was prepared – he had been fighting long enough to know of such a trick. Almost instinctively, he turned, and deflected the haphazard blow, the sound of steel clashing sounding once more.
Nakai, spotting an opportunity, disarmed his foe, his blade now sticking out of the ground, hilt in the air. However, the fight hadn’t lasted long enough for the lieutenant – in response to this situation, he sheathed his own blade, and beckoned the man towards him. “Come. We’ll do this like men.” “Your loss.” The two then engaged in hand-to-hand combat, something Nakai had been trained to do. Kido would only solve so many problems – his Shikai and Bankai both left him without a weapon, so it was pretty much a necessary. And, while he wasn’t as strong as most, he was a hell of a lot more skilled.
However, even with the situation being significantly more difficult, Nakai couldn’t help but feel it wasn’t going to last much longer. He was on the defensive, but he had managed to parry or block most of the blows that were directed at him. And, when he did attack, and when he did connect, the attacks visibly hurt. This couldn’t go on much longer – not because he was tired, but because he was bored. In order to open up his foe, Nakai parried a straight punch thrown at him, by slapping down his fist with his left hand. And, from there, the decisive blows were delivered.
Nakai let loose a hook into his foe’s jaw, causing him to reel back. A swift blow to the gut proved enough to cause him to reel back further, and an uppercut to the chin only cemented this. But he wasn’t done yet – not by far. A swift roundhouse to the thigh provided a sharp jolt of pain, and practically disabled his leg. And, to finish him off, one more roundhouse, but this time to the kneeling man’s head. Disabled, but not knocked out, the fugitive’s face contorted into something resembling a mix between pain, and frustration. “I’ll get you for this…” No. You won’t.” CLASS/LEVEL:AV-3 STATS:HAN: 10 REI: 13 HAK: 10 SEI: 13 BUK: 14 HOH: 10 Points Earned: 0 Total points: 70
